Chapter 11

Izna's POV

Few weeks later....

"Your majesty, prince Qebeh has come to meet you."

"Really??!! Let him come in."

As soon as he comes in I run over and jump on him.

"Brother where have you been?"

"Calm down, you're crushing me. Did you gain weight?"

"How mean!"

"Haha.... I wanted to come meet you earlier. Your husband didn't let me return."

"I should have known."

"Oh right Izna there's someone I'd like you to meet."

"Who?"

"Sheila come in."

A very beautiful woman walks in. She looks like a goddess.

"She's the woman I love. We're getting married soon."

"Congratulations brother!!! This is such a great news."

"About that I need your help Izna."

"Help?"

"Yes. As a prince I can't get married without the Pharaoh's blessings. I even begged him but he denied. It's because her father is the enemy's commander."

"Umm.... if I do it he might punish me too."

"Please help me. You're the queen. You have rights to give us blessing. Please! She's pregnant with my child. If her father knows he will kill her to save his honor."

"Please help us your majesty," Sheila takes off her cloack. I can see her growing belly.

"What?? You're having a baby?? Praise the gods. Of course I will give my blessings."

I call Horus.

"Horus! Go bring the royal seal."

"But your majesty... please reconsider. The Pharaoh might think this as an insult."

"Don't question me!! I don't mind insulting him in order to save my brother's happiness."

After that we go to the temple and arrange a small ceremony. Though I invited all the royals individually, no one came except for Seth. Honestly I'm happy they didn't come. They bullied us for years. I don't want them to bully Sheila too. Specially not on her wedding day.

"Would you mind if I become your child's guardian?" I say placing my hand on her belly.

"Of course not your majesty.I will be more than happy," She smiles.

Few days later...

I was getting ready in the morning when the Pharaoh's personal guards breaks in.

"How dare you enter the Queen's chamber without permission," Horus draws his sword.

"Get out of the way slave. We have the Pharaoh's orders. He ordered us to punish her for forming alliance with the enemy."

"WHAT? When did I do that?" I'm surprised.

"You let your brother marry the enemy commander's daughter. Now come with us or We will drag you to the prison."

They throw me in the dark prison without food or water for 5 long days. I even get whipped 10 times a day. I don't think I will survive any longer. After 5 days they finally give me food and transfer me to a normal prison cell.

"Iznaaaaa???" Someone calls me from another cell.

"Qebeh??? What...what did they do to you?" I drag myself closer to his cell. He's been tortured, burnt, had one of his eyes plucked out. I squeeze my arms through the cell to touch his face. He starts crying.

"Izna they killed Sheila and my child. My wife and baby weren't mummified. I can't even meet them in my next life...."

"I'm so sorry. It's my fault. If I wasn't weak, if only i had powers....", I start crying too. How could Nephthys do that?

"They even punished Seth for attending our wedding."

"What??? Even him?"

"Yes. The Pharaoh's heartless like an animal. He's worse than our father. Izna I might not survive this but if you survive promise me that you will run away. Promise me that you will survive."

"I.. I.."

"Promise me please."

"I promise."

"Hold my hands. I'm scared."

I reach out for his hands when the guards come in again and drag me out. They put my body on a palaquin and carry me to my palace. I'm so weak I can't even resist.

"Your majesty, the Pharaoh was kind enough to forgive you. Be grateful. Next time you might be executed."

They leave.

"Ho...horus.. Horus...," I use last of my energy to call him.

"Yes your majesty."

"Save my brother.....", I faint before finishing the sentence.
