Going to class
"What the fuck is going on?"
After what happened yesterday, I spent two days figuring out what happened while I was gone. And I was utterly shocked at how everything went wrong.
In the original story, Kara would meet the prince and have an argument. That would result in the prince gaining in her as she sees him as just another person and not the prince.
"Cliche."
After that, they would start to pay attention to each other more often during the classes they shared and even occasionally spar with each other. It helped that the prince was actually quite strong, so Kara enjoyed every spar.
But none of that happened. Instead, some random side character called Ashley Morie took her place. From the rumors, she had met the prince in the same way, but grew close as she became the healer of his party.
"I presume you know who she is?"
[No record of individual]
"That's concerning."
I had no memory of her ever being in the novel, so I didn't know her original faith. She could be similar to me who was originally supposed to die, or like Velris who was originally in a situation outside of the story. And now that she's involved in the story, any event in the future related to both prince Leopold and Kara will no longer happen, that includes enemies they defeated together.
"Do I have to kill her?"
My hand wandered to the handle of my sword. If she continues to live, everything I know about the future would be worthless. The enemies may not change, but the people involved in every event would. Both Kara and Leopold are talented fighters, and both of them are important figures in future battles. Losing either one could greatly affect the outcomes.
"I have no cho-"

"AARRRGGG!"
I clutched my head in pain as Raveil's memories merged with my own. I felt his hatred, sadness, despair, every emotion he had during his suffering came pouring in.

Raveil's memories became a lot clearer, making it seem that I really lived through them. Previously, it simply felt like useful information saved into my head. But now, they felt no different than my own. The mere dislike to Argonius Gray turned into hatred. Simple pettiness turned into a desire for revenge.
"Not a good time," I grumbled as the headache continued. "How am I supposed to hunt someone down like this?"
I thought my lack of care for taking a life was because my emotions were still unstable, but it turns out Raveil's resolve to kill was just that overpowering.
"At this point, I'm the villain."

"We have arrived lady Maria."
Maria Parvis stepped out of the carriage and was greeted by the beautiful sight of the academy.
She was late by almost three weeks due to a lot of things her family had to prioritize. And it took a lot of time to resolve the issue of her engagement.
Maria's chest tightened at the reminder of the man she turned her back on.
"Lady Parvis."
Maria turned around and hurriedly bowed. "Lady Slywood."
"Are you well?" Catherine Slywood's tone sent shivers down her spine.
"Yes, lady Slywood. Thank you for your concern. I hope the lady is well as well."
"Certainly, and I have you to thank for that."
Maria raised her head in confusion. "I don't understand what you mean lady Slywood."
"You'll find out sooner or later," Catherine Slywood began walking away, while chuckling.
Maria couldn't understand what had just happened. She had no prior connection with Duchess Slywood, so she couldn't think of any reason she spoke to her.
"Lady Maria, shall we take your belongings to your dorm?" one of her family's servants got her attention.
"Ah? Y-yes please."
Maria could only stare blankly at the direction Catherine Slywood had left.

"Damt it. How am I supposed to live in peace when everything isn't progressing smoothly," I grumbled as I prepared myself to attend a class.
Due to everything that had gone wrong with the story, I needed to see for myself the current situation. Which is why I'm going to attend a class that I share with both Kara Vanguis and Prince Leopold.
The class was called Aura mastery, which teaches students how to use their aura and other elements that come with mastering it. It's also the most useless class for me.
Thanks to Grave of swords being my gift. I already knew that my aura is suited for swords and using sword aura already comes with it as a package.
"This better be fixable."
Once I was dressed, I quickly made my way to the class. The lecture was taking place in one of the training halls and it seemed everyone I needed to see was already there. Leopold and his entourage were on one side, while Kara Vanguis was sitting by herself in the corner.
The instructor was currently teaching a select group of students to use their aura, while the ones that were seated like Kara were trying to figure out what weapon suited them the most. Though Kara probably already knew that her aura was compatible with a sword.
"Mr. Gray," the instructor called out to me. "Glad you could finally jo-"
I interrupted her by holding up my sword and shrouding it with my aura. Thanks to my knowledge of the novel, I knew that the criteria for passing this class was to shroud your weapon with aura. And accomplishing that means the instructor will no longer bother me.
"Hey!" Kara began marching towards me.
"Just the person I wa-"
"Fight me!"
I sighed.

"I was hoping for a normal conversation first."
"We can do that after this."
Kara got into her stance.
