The Power Of Reset

Chen noticed that while lifting these bags of sugar, he felt he had way higher stamina compared to the other day.

The other day he was lifting one at a time and today he tried lifting two after noticing it was considerably easier to lift one. To his surprise, he was able to do this continuously without wearing out until he finished his quota.

By the time it was six in the morning, his shift ended and he moved towards the bathroom once more to take a shower.

'It really did increase my strength in the real world,' Chen knew it was due to reaching level 10 in Overworld that this change came about.

This wasn't considered very strong but it was a noticeable improvement.

According to the gamers, the strength level would be multiplied after scaling another ten levels but despite a level ten being weaker than the other higher-level gamers in the real world, they would still be able to use skills or abilities if they decided to bring any to the real world.

Any level ten was literally a supernatural already.

When Chen was about to go into the bathroom he used the other day, one of the workers stopped him.

"Pete, that bathroom shower is busted," He informed Chen just as he opened the door of the bathroom.

"Oh thanks," Chen responded before closing the door but just before the door could close up completely he spotted the oddities on the wall up ahead.

Cracks were on the wall and the entire shower parts were missing. Chen stopped the door from closing completely and slowly pushed it to the side to glance through.

Shower parts were placed by the side of the bathroom. It looked like these shower parts had been pulled out from the wall and separated into bits.

'What happened to the shower?' He wondered.

Chen did not recall that last night he touched the shower handle while the Reset ability was activated because he was rushing out at that time to answer Arjun's call.

Even if he thought of it, he wouldn't be sure Reset ability was to blame since it had been over twenty-four hours since he used this bathroom. Anyone else could have come in within that time frame to use it and they might be responsible.

Since he didn't witness Reset Ability causing this to happen, he had no idea he was responsible for this.

Chen decided to ask some of his co-workers what happened and no one was able to give an explanation. They said it was found that way.

'Well, no point in thinking about it too much,' Chen decided while entering another cubicle.

He turned on the shower and began taking his bath.

After showering for some time, he turned the shower off and held his hands up a little.

Just like earlier, he could still see the blue panel appear in front of him like he was in Overworld.

However just the same as earlier as well, the stats were greyed out except for Reset.

'I still need to learn how to use this ability,' Chen thought while standing underneath the pouring shower.

His face showed a deep contemplative look as a myriad of thoughts popped up in his mind.

Chen decided to activate Reset once more.

His hands lit up with a mystical purplish glow just like the last time and he stared at them with a dazed look for some time.

Chen turned around and pushed his right and forward, "Hyaah,"

Nothing happened...

His forehead creased up as he squeezed his hand into a fist and threw it forward as well.

Still, nothing happened...

Chen proceeded to wave his hands around trying different gestures to see if he would trigger anything with the ability but still nothing happened.

"Just how does this thing work," Chen mumbled with a frustrated look as he reached out to turn off the shower.

After turning it off, he still held his hand up for a little while and stared at them with a contemplative expression before deactivating Reset.

Chen picked up his towel and was about to leave when something happened...

A purplish glow appeared on the shower handle and spread towards the rest of it.

Fwwhioizzzz~

Clank! Clank! Clank!

The shower parts began to dislodge from one another as the glow spread across the wall as well.

Cracks appeared all over them and some of the shower parts lodged into the wall began to pull out of it.

"What's happening?" Chen stepped backwards as the weird scene played out in front of him.

Krrrryyyyyyccchhh~ Bang!

A huge chunk of the wall fell out in the next instant along with a pipe.

"This is..." Chen recalled the other bathroom as his face lit up with a look of realisation.

'I touched it yesterday while Reset was still activated... It was my doing,'

The final shower piece fell down and now what was left here was a cracked-up wall with a few holes and shower parts sprawled across the bathroom floor with wall debris on some of them.

At this point, workers had heard the loud sounds coming from this particular bathroom cubicle so they rushed in this direction.

"Yo are you okay man?" The first one to arrive asked with a concerned look after spotting Chen standing a few feet away.

"Yeah I'm fine, I was able to distance myself before the wall started falling apart, thanks," Chen responded.

The others arrived as well and stared at the state of the bathroom, relating the incident to the previous one that happened twenty-four hours ago.

"Someone could have gotten injured,"

"The supervisor needs to be informed,"

"This is getting dangerous,"

No one even thought Pete could be responsible for such an incident. It never even occurred to them that the skinny-looking pretty boy Pete was now supernatural because no supernatural would be working in such a place.

A feeling of excitement began building up in Chen after thinking about the possibilities of this Reset Ability.

'I need to get home,'

About thirty minutes later, Chen got back home.

'To think I made an extra 50$ because of an accident I caused... Maybe I should try causing more accidents,' Chen thought as he checked his pockets within the living room.

The supervisor of the factory was approached by the angry workers about what had happened in the bathroom twice in twenty-four hours.

Chen was compensated because of the issue as he had almost gotten injured due to the accident or so they thought.

'At least I will be able to pay part of the rent now,' Chen thought as he calculated the total amount of money in his hand to be 100$.

Chen kept the money for now and decided to try something.

He moved towards the kitchen and stood in front of the refrigerator.

<Player Has Activated Reset>

A mystical purplish glow appeared on his hands again and he proceeded to touch the refrigerator.

The glow spread from his hands to the entire rectangular-shaped refrigerator.

In the next instant...

Bang! Bam! Bam!

The refrigerator split apart and began to fall like metal scraps from the junkyard.

Chen's eyes lit up in excitement as he stared at the parts scattered all over the kitchen floor.

"It's like returning things to their initial state or something... Whatever I touch with this ability will fall apart," Chen said with a look of amazement.

'But what happens if I use it on a person?' As this dark thought appeared in Chen's mind a voice was heard from behind.

"Big brother, what are you doing?"

Chen froze up for an instant and turned around to see Remi rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"Oh, I'm just fixing the fridge because I missed something earlier," Chen quickly came up with an excuse.

"Go back to bed," He added.

"It's morning already, I have to prepare breakfast," Remi said while walking into the kitchen.

She tied her long hair into a bun and pulled some of the strands falling in front of her face to the side. She looked absolutely gorgeous despite still having a sleepy look.

Chen had his mouth wide open for some time before he looked away. He proceeded to put parts of the refrigerator back together and left the kitchen to give Remi enough room.

Today was his day off so he would be at home for the entire day. He didn't need to head to work till the next morning.

"I'll be in-game," Chen said as he moved out of the kitchen.
