Fang Yuan could only hope that he would get his turn that day. The earlier he did the test, the more time he would have to prepare for the next rounds.

There was no announcement that the examination format had changed, so it would remain the same as it had been for the past years.

In that format, there were three rounds of competition. The first was spiritual root and element testing. The second was physique testing, and the third was the combat round.

There were fixed standards for the first two rounds, allowing participants to have some bonus in the last combat round. Every sect on the continent had already shared the details of the spiritual roots they had been looking for in their students.

Physique wasn't a necessity for the admission since it was very rare. Out of the millions of students participating in the examination every year, there were usually only a few hundred students with different physiques.

The students fortunate enough to have a special physique had their entry into the sects fixed. That didn't mean that the combat round held no value for them.

The majority of students with physiques entered the seven major sects every year, so they didn't lack students like that. They could only get into those major sects if they had good rankings in the combat round.

Many students in the square suddenly stopped what they were doing and focused on the testing center. Gao Jinli was a popular figure in the city because of his influential parents.

They weren't cultivators, but his mother was an immensely famous idol in Green Bear City while his father was one of the most good-looking men in the city. The students around him made their way, and Gao Jinli gracefully walked to the testing center. He bowed to Duan Chengqiu and stepped inside.

He wasn't surprised by the data since he had just checked it before coming for the examination. He then checked on the box with a tap and walked out.

He once again bowed to Duan Chengqiu and immediately left the area.

Duan Chengqiu suddenly raised his eyes in surprise as Gao Jinli's data appeared on the screen. As the examiner, it was within his authority to see the data of the students.

According to the data, Gao Jinli was a triple elemental spiritual root user, with fire, earth, and metal all being above 50. Out of the three, the earth element was the highest with 68 units, whereas metal was the lowest with 54 units.

The spiritual root was divided into grades depending on the highest element value. If the highest element value for a spiritual root was between 0 and 10, it was a pseudo-spiritual root, and those students were uneligible to get admission into any of the sects on the continent.

Every human being could cultivate on the planet, whereas the elemental value decided their talent.

For the elemental value between 11 and 20, it was a low-grade spiritual root. For the value between 21 and 35, it was the average grade. For 36 and 50, it was middle grade. For 51 and 70, it was a high grade.

For the cultivators with elemental values between 71 and 85, they had top spiritual roots. For the value between 86 and 95, it was earth grade, and for 96 and 100, it was heavenly grade spiritual roots. 100 was the most possible theoretical limit for the elemental value of the spiritual roots.

There seemed to be a random distribution of values between grades of the spiritual roots, as the high grade spiritual root had a value difference of 20 units, but for the top grade, that difference was reduced to 15.

It wasn't a random distribution but was the result of years of research. Those values were defined due to the high improvement seen once the change in the elemental value.

According to that distinction, Gao Jinli had high grade spiritual roots, and that was the case for three elements. Even if he wanted to focus on only one of the three elements, his cultivation growth rate would still be around the same.

Duan Chengqiu immediately sent Gao Jinli details to his sect since he was allowed to recommend ten students to his sect. He couldn't tell the personal details of the student to safeguard the student and their family from being bombarded by the sects. He could only share the data of the test.

Whether to work on the recommendation or not depended on the sect and if they wanted the student, they would still have to wait for all three rounds to pass before they could give their offer to the student.

Time flew by, and the day passed in the blink of an eye.

A tint of darkness began to cover the sky as the sun started dipping. Streetlights automatically began to be lit up one by one, and soon their amber glow replaced the sunlight while stars became visible in the sky.

"Since the sunset has arrived, the day has come to an end. Those students who haven't taken their tests yet will come tomorrow morning for their tests."

Duan Chengqiu didn't say much and immediately left after announcing the end of the day.

Fang Yuan could only sigh in disappointment since his name wasn't called that day. He would have to wake up early again the next day since the tests would begin right after sunrise.

He didn't stay that way for long, as there was no point in being worried about something like that. It was an inconvenience, but since it was out of his control, just focus on the test.
