About one hour later…

 "Hah…" Liam relaxed his back on the chair, staring at the woman seating across him.

 Her figure was nothing short of a masterpiece, with full round breasts that seemed to defy gravity beneath the thin fabric of her dress.

 "Fighting in the medical unit, that's unlike you." She said, her voice turning serious all of a sudden.

 "Ohh… he attacked me first. I was only trying to defend myself." Liam said, shrugging his shoulders.

 He didn't really care about what others thought of his actions, or how other people viewed him.

 After spending what seemed like an eternity roaming in the 'void', he finally gained a chance at a new life.

 The last thing he'd allow was for the worthless opinions and thoughts of other people to affect how he lives.

 "Only trying to defend yourself?" She said, the frown on her face deepening in annoyance.

 Though they had only exchanged a few words, she could already feel herself starting to hate this new version of Liam.

 "By fighting in the medical unit? Endangering the lives of all the patients there?" She said, clicking her tongue in annoyance. 

 Liam's eyes narrowed, but he didn't say anything.

 He had already expected this much of a reaction from her.

 After all, fighting on academy grounds was a crime, talk less of in the medical unit.

 If two students had a quarrel and wanted to settle it by fighting, they wouid have to do so in an official duel, which was be supervised by the academy instructors.

 That was what he and Rex did the last time, in which he got knocked out by a single hit.

 Their home room teacher, Mrs Dan was quite strict when it came to matters like this, always wanting her students to keep to discipline.

 Normally, Rex should also be seated beside him, getting an earful of how he trespassed the academy rules.

 However, after what happened between them, he was still receiving treatment in the medical unit.

 "If you two wanted to fight that bad, you could have done so in a duel." Mrs Dan's voice broke his off his thoughts, and his brows furrowed into a slight frown.

 'Done so in a duel? Like that's going to make much of a difference.' Liam thought, shaking his head slightly.

 Though he and Rex's last fight was done in an official duel, he couldn't count how many times Rex had attacked him out in the open, even humiliating him in front of the class.

 Anytime he tried reporting the issue, it would simply be swept under the rug, and nothing would change.

 Rex would only get a light tap on his hand due to his noble status, and he that was on the receiving end, would end up suffering even more.

 It was an endless cycle of torment, in which he had no chance of winning.

 "That won't change anything, and you know that." He said, narrowing his eyes at the woman.

 "Even if we fought in a duel, as long as I win… I'll always be the 'bad guy.'" He continued, clicking his tongue in annoyance.

 The woman's eyes widened slightly in surprise, and her lips parted, but no words came out.

 "You're… right." She said, casting her gaze to the ground in embarrassment.

 Though she hated to admit it, Liam was right. 

 The corruption in the academy had eaten too deep, and noble students mostly got away with things they weren't supposed to.

 She also knew about the life Liam had lived until now, and how much he had suffered because of Rex. 

 His hate towards the Silvagold was actually justified, in fact, it would be a lot weirder if he didn't hate Rex.

 A holy academy was meant to train students, to treat them all fairly so they could graduate and become heroes of mankind.

 But unfortunately, it wasn't so, due to the class and social hierarchy bounding it.

 Despite her trying her best to reduce the case of bullying, it all ended in vain as she was just too powerless against the noble houses.

 "But still… you should have handled it better." She said, turning back to Liam. "By attacking him… you just placed a target on your back."

 "Ohh…" Liam muttered, a smirk tugging at the edges of his lips.

 "I didn't realise you cared about me that much… Mrs Dan." He teased, his lips curled into a slight smile.

 "W-what? I've always… c-cared…" The woman stuttered, a shade of pink slowly creeping up her cheeks.

 'What was that…? All he did was smile at me… so what is this feeling…?' She thought, her heart beat accelerating as she stared at the handsome face of Liam in surprise.

 If all it took for her, a married woman to blush… then this kid in front of her, was very dangerous… 

 'R-remain calm… remain calm…' She kept telling herself, trying to calm her quickening heart beat.

 However, nothing she did seemed to work, and gradually, she started feeling a strange heat rising within her body.
