Chapter 4

In the bustling halls of Kuoh Academy, Motohama made his way to class with a determined stride, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of change and self-improvement. As he entered the classroom, he ignored the chatter of his classmates, instead pulling out his sketchbook and diving into his passion for manga.

Lost in his artistic world, Motohama scarcely noticed when his friends, Issei and Matsuda, approached him with their usual mischief in mind.

"Hey, Motohama, you wanna come with us later? We're gonna sneak a peek at the girls changing." Issei exclaimed with a mischievous grin.

"Yeah, it'll be fun! You don't wanna miss out on the action, do you?" Matsuda said with a big smile that showed off all his teeth, while he groped the air as if imaginary boobs are in front of him.

Motohama's expression darkened as he shook his head, his resolve firm.

"No, guys, I'm not interested. I'm trying to change, and I don't want to be labeled as a pervert for the rest of my school life. You should try to do the same."

"What's gotten into you, Motohama? You're acting all high and mighty now." Issei stated.

"Yeah, don't act like you're better than us just because you're trying to be a goody-two-shoes."

Their words sparked an argument that quickly escalated into a heated confrontation.

With a heart full of frustration, Motohama found himself summoned to the student council office, he braced himself for the inevitable lecture that awaited him. But to his surprise, he was met not with reprimands, but with understanding and empathy from none other than Sona Sitri, the student council president.

"Motohama, I've heard about what happened. Care to explain?" Sona asked with a neutral face.

Motohama hesitated, unsure of how to articulate his feelings, but Sona's calm presence put him at ease.

"I'm tired of being seen as a pervert, kaicho. I want to change, to be better. But Issei and Matsuda don't understand that. They think I'm betraying them by trying to improve myself."

Sona listened attentively, her eyes reflecting a depth of wisdom far beyond her years.

"Change is never easy, Motohama, especially when it means outgrowing old habits and friendships. But if you believe it's the right path for you, then I support you wholeheartedly."

"Thank you, kaicho. I won't let you down. I'll prove that I can be better."

Sona nodded approvingly, a small smile gracing her lips.

"I know you will, Motohama. Now, how about a game of chess to clear your mind?"

As they sat across from each other, the chess pieces poised for battle, Sona posed a question that lingered in the air like a challenge.

"Tell me, Motohama, do you know why I play chess with people?"

Motohama shook his head, curious to hear her answer.

"No, why?"

"To judge a person's character. In the game of chess, every move reveals something about a person's strategy, their foresight, their adaptability. It's a mirror of their true self."

Motohama nodded, pondering Sona's words as they delved into their game, their minds focused and their spirits determined. As the chess pieces danced across the board, Motohama found himself embarking on a journey of self-discovery, guided by the wisdom of one of the smartest demons in the underworld and someone who believes he can change.

[After school]

After a long day at Kuoh Academy, Motohama found himself looking for a gym to improve himself.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Motohama finally found the perfect gym and wasted no time in signing up for a membership. With determination burning in his heart, he entered the gym and embarked on a rigorous full-body workout, pushing himself to the limit with each rep and set.

Hours passed in a blur of sweat and exertion, but Motohama refused to relent, driven by a relentless desire to better himself. As he completed his final set, he felt a surge of accomplishment wash over him, knowing that he had taken another step toward his goals.

Returning home, Motohama turned his focus to mastering his demonic energy control. Drawing inspiration from Naruto's chakra control exercises, he meticulously practiced sticking pieces of paper to his body, focusing his energy with unwavering concentration.

With each attempt, Motohama felt his control improve, the pieces of paper clinging to him for longer and longer durations. Taking breaks to rest and recharge, he recorded his progress, determined to track his growth and development.

After a refreshing shower, Motohama settled down to tackle his homework and as he finished he went on to continue to draw his manga.

Finally, as the clock struck midnight, Motohama retired to bed, his body weary but his spirit renewed. With a sense of anticipation tingling in his veins, he drifted off to sleep, wondering what challenges and adventures awaited him in the days to come.

For Motohama, the journey of self-improvement was just beginning, and he knew that with dedication and perseverance, he could conquer any obstacle that stood in his way.
