CHAPTER 356: CAN I?

The weather was calm. Trees stood till due to the calmness of the weather. 

After all, why shouldn't the weather be calmed and it was already in the middle of the night and every human being was fast asleep? Of course not everyone was asleep as people like thieves and witches couldn't sleep as this was their time to do their evil deeds, not to forget about rapists and all evil human beings that one could think of.

Mr Rudra stood outside a secluded building wearing a black suit while on his head, he had a huge hat which was hiding his head and only exposing a part of his handsome face. Beside him, was Mark with his hat too but his clothes were casual.

On their opposite were eight men wearing masks with black clothing which covered their bodies.

Where were these people heading to?

"Is everything ready?" Mr Rudra exclaimed without gazing at his men.

"Yes sir!" They all chorused. 

"Okay, let's go!" He commanded then stared at his son, "You are a man, you can do this" He voiced out carefreely then led his men as Mark was also following.

AFTER ONE HOUR

Three black cars which were following each other reached a building which was silent and dark. After all, it was late in the night so probably the people there were asleep.

"We have to do this! I am tired of waiting. I can't take it anymore. Today I will have five virgins to myself, after all, the girls here are young, exactly like my taste. I don't want prostitutes anymore" He scoffed proudly as if he was going to do a good deed, then gazed at his chauffeur, "Open the door we have to start" With that, the driver did exactly that and Rudra and his son who looked somehow sad, got out of the car and by that time, their men were already at attention waiting for their boss.

"Be careful" He then glared at a particular man who was huge in physique, "You will be the one to protect my son and me together with you and you" He pointed out and without wasting time, the three men started moving forward while the others, checked out their guns which they had been holding all this while, and took their roots.

"Mark! Make sure you stay closer to me. If you will be able to manage two I will not hesitate to make you my successor, so make sure you do a nice job. All these men are going to be under you! Haha!" Mr Rudra spoke like a maniac as he tapped Mark on his back.

"Okay!" That was the only thing Mark could utter.

"Now let's go and invade!" The older man spoke with menace as they sauntered closer to the building which was written, "UJUWA GIRLS' ORPHANAGE!" 

"B-but this is an orphanage dad!" Suddenly, Mark voiced out in shock after reading the name.

"So what? Let's go and enjoy these small and sweet kids!" Rudra whispered with malice.

"I-I don't think this is right! I me.."

"AND WHO ARE YOU TO TEACH ME WHAT  IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG? How dare you, Mark! You are just stupid like your mother! Like mother like son! You are just a fool and that is why Alex is far above you!" Mark was dumbstruck by the man's sudden change of behaviour!

Why was he suddenly showing this evil side of his? Or all these years he had landed himself in lies again unknowly! 

How unlucky he was to trust this beast! 

How could he get the courage to assault young, innocent and parentless kids? This wasn't him at all!

But now what could he do?

"You can insult me as you want but this is not right!"

Slap! "You are just an asshole like your mother!" Rudra slapped Mark hard on his cheeks and they turned red as tomatoes in a twinkle of an eye.

Mark couldn't believe this sudden change in this man's behaviour. Why was he behaving like an angel all this while? And was ready to help him but now?

Was his mother right about this man?

"S-so it is true?" Mark voiced with shock and shivered with disbelief.

The mad man gazed at him somehow confused but suddenly, he laughed like a maniac, "Yes! I raped her! I enjoy.."

Slap! Slap! "How dare you rape my mother!"

Punch! Punch! Punch! Mark received three punches on his forehead and he started feeling dizzy after slapping the evil man because of anger.

"You dare slap me? Wait, I will show you who I am after this" He then chuckled with dismay and scoffed, "For your information, you are already in this and you can't run unless you want to die!" With that, the man started moving.

All this time, his men were bowing unable to gaze directly at their boss and his son and they started moving immediately, their boss finished his rumbling.

"Why me God?" Mark sobbed silently like a child as he had no option but to follow the man.

AFTER SOME MINUTES

"Cry....p-please don't hurt me..please do...don't do this to me!" A girl cried out loudly with fear as sweat drenched her body as she fought Rudra's grip which appeared to be stronger than the vulnerable and naive girl.

At a corner.

Mark was seen holding a girl too but gesturing for the girl to cry in pain while in his right hand he was sending a message to an unknown number.

On Rudra's side, he was enjoying the girl's pain and sobs as he was busy kissing her chubby cheeks leisurely. 

All this while, his men were standing on guard with guns pointing at the other girls after tying them with ropes and clothes on their mouths so that they couldn't cry loudly instead, they were watching what was being done to their sisters while crying inwardly waiting for their turn.

Mark knew what he was doing was not right and could lose his dear life anytime his father's men caught him but he had to do this. He couldn't let these poor innocent children be assalted like this. Especially after the man confessedthat he raped his mother. He couldn't take it at all. His mother who he had misunderstood all these years.

Vroooooom! Suddenly, police vans started screeching as the sound came closer to the building.

"What is going on? Raphael! Go and check!" Rudra shouted in horror!

He was shocked when he suddenly heard the voice of the cars.

How was it possible? Not ones had he been caught when doing his job!

That was the question that kept replaying in his mind as he loosened his grip on the girl with a little fear in his heart.

Suddenly, an evil plan crept into his mind and he smirked then pulled the girl's shirt exposing her beautiful little two hills.

"N-nooooooo! Please have mercy on me! Do..."

Slap! " Kep quiet! I must enjoy it before I run away!" He exclaimed angrily.

"Boss! We have to go! The police are coming here!" One of his men shouted in fear.

"No! I must finish first!" He shouted back while kissing the girl's little breasts.

"No! We don't have time! Please come!" The man shouted again but this time, the man was consumed with pleasure that he couldn't hear as the girl was crying in horror and sadness.

On Mark's side, he had already left the girl alone and was hiding while praying for the police to come right on time before his father assalt the girl which would leave a lifetime scar on her.

"Leave her!" A voice was heard which formed a reverberation inside the dormitory.

"I won't leave her!" Rudra was like a mad man as he continued sucking the girl without caring about the people who had just barged in.

Mark couldn't stop wondering what this man was using. Was he out of his mind? How could he continue assaulting the girl in front of policemen? He wandered as he hid so as not to be seen by the policeman while all this while, Rudra's men were all gone.

BANG! A gun was heard all over the place as Rudra collapsed on the floor like a sack of tomatoes.

Seeing the condition the poor girl was in, another policeman added two more bullets to Rudra's forehead causing the man to die then and there with eyes wide open.

Mark seeing that, couldn't wait and rushed out of the place at a bullet pace.

All in all, the price of evil was death and now Rudra was gone.

"We must look for those men!" Another policeman said while covering the shocked girl with his jacket.

AFTER ONE DAY!

IN AFRICA.

"Mother! Please forgive me! Please take me back! I am ready to change! Life outside here is not good at all! That man is an animal! I am sorry mother for not listening to you!" Mark welled in front of a woman who was non-other than Camila.

So he immediately travelled to Africa after what happened? Indeed a prodigal son returned to his parents.

"Surprisingly son, I am not angry with you. The good thing about this cruel world is that it could show you the reality! Stand up son, come to your mother! After this, I want you to go and plead for forgiveness to your step-sister, Blessing!" Camila stated with a smile happy with herself. After all, she was forgiven by Blessing, why shouldn't she forgive?

"R-really? Just like that and you forgave me?" Mark couldn't believe his ears! What happened to his mother when he was away? The woman was kind now that he couldn't understand.

"An important person taught me how to forgive!" Camila stated proudly with a smile.

'So that was the reason? Indeed that person left an impact on mum!'' Mark thought.

He stood up and hugged his mum as tears rushed down his eyes, "I would like to see this person who changed you, mum and maybe I can also change!" He murmured between sobs.

"Don't worry son. That person is your sister, Blessing! Our own Jessica, son!" Camila was happy with herself that now, her health had improved.

"Wow! I will have to visit her then plead for forgiveness because of my stupid feelings for her!" Mark stated as realization dawned on him.

Besides, Mark had now changed after that scene. He wouldn't wish to go back there.

"I am happy to hear that son. By the way, you have grown into a man now. You have to find a girl for yourself!" Camila beamed after breaking the hug causing Mark to blush.

"I-I will mum but for now, I have to visit dad in prison and set out things with him. Then Blessing and Jamilah. I will also help dad to run the companies as he is in jail"

"Wow! I can't wait to see my son doing all of that. I am proud of you dear!" Camila couldn't control her joyful tears.

"Thank you, mother! I love you!" Mark stated happily.

"Welcome dear and don't think about your deceased father!"

"No! Never!" Mark exclaimed causing Camila to smile.

AFTER THREE MONTHS

    BLESSING POV

Hours had moved into days, days changed to weeks and now, it had been after three months.

Many things had changed within these months.

I couldn't hide the happiness that was in my heart. Indeed, I was the luckiest being on this earth.

The world was not what we viewed it to be. It wasn't as cruel as we thought it to be.

Anyway, people would argue with me but the truth was, no one could walk on a straight path. That was to say, every man had his or her challenges in life.

Well, I couldn't deny that I went through a hell of a life but eventually, I reached my destination. And now, I was the leader of the world health organization, after serving as a doctor just for three months.

Wasn't that what people call lucky?

Well, not that alone but I was able to bring my family together not to forget mother Camila who was always beside me. She made sure to support me in everything with Alex.

Apart from that,  she had been running her ophanage which she built by herself and now, she would visit me daily giving out excuses that she was not that busy at the ophanage! Hahaha!

To my parents in the village, I couldn't deny how much they loved me. They would call me every day!

By the way, mother Sandra was bailed out from jail after I helped her out. I couldn't take it to see her suffering not after everything she did to me when my real parents were not around. Her leg was now well and kicking and she was over excited with that because I also lend a hand in treating her.

What surprised me and made me happy and more peaceful with myself, was that now Sofia was opening up to me saying she was just jealous for no reason and she was sorry. I couldn't let her down and forgave her. To my other sisters, all was well and we were all fine and happy.

Now they all were living like royals.

By the way, aunty Seraphina came and apologized to me. Haha! I couldn't control it and laughed at her hard and that time I was with Alex who didn't want me to accept the apology but I reasoned with him and eventually, he accepted and we forgave her.

About my friend Susan, she got the required justice and now she was happy. I made sure to build a house for her too.

Mark also came and pleaded for forgiveness and I was confused because he had not wronged me. But he explained to me about his childish feelings and I just laughed, now we were the closest brother and sister ever. By the way, he had changed a lot and now he had a girlfriend! Haha!

"Honey!" Someone cuddled me from behind and I already knew who it was. Who else if not my husband Alex?

Yes! We got married a month ago and now we were living happily together!

"Hubby!" I responded with a blush as he kissed me on my lips.

"What are you doing here on the balcony? Are you not feeling cold?" He asked with concern in his eyes.

This man! Always putting me before everything!

He was treating me like a princess. He didn't lie to me at all. Indeed, I saw heaven on earth through him.

"See that!" I ignored his question and showed him the stars that were shining in the sky as we cuddle.

"Will you visit your father in prison?" He asked.

Father Samir was still in jail. But he had changed a lot. He had helped many people in our country and in my mother land, India causing for the head of judges to reduce his years in jail from twenty to fifteen that I was happy for him.

Jamilah was also in prison but her health had improved a lot that now, she could walk and see clearly. I always visited her at least three times a week and now, we were closer than ever. She was my friend and a sister now. Indeed, your enemy could change to be your best friend.

Diana was also happy after being compensated by father that now she was happily enjoying her life alone after my sister Lydia got married, two months ago by Murphy while my sister and also a friend to me, Lisa travelled to London because of her job. 

Lisa was still dating Dean and they were in the process of marriage. I was happy for them too.

To the  primary school I studied in, I always helped them out as I gave them financial support after rebuilding the school a new that the madam who hated me was shocked when she learned about it where she was. But I couldn't misjudge her because those were some of the challenges that were on my path so that I could give up but with prayers and hard work together with determination, I made it. And I always shared my story with other people so that no matter what, they shouldn't give up as I helped them where I could because no man was an ocean.

"Why are you quiet? I have asked a question a while ago"  Alex brought me to the living world.

"Ooh! Haha! I am sorry. Just being happy and yes, I will" I answered with a smile.

"Okay, I will accompany you" He smiled back.

"Really?" I asked blissful because nowadays he was busy just like me that he couldn't get time to visit his father-in-law.

But I thanked his parents so much because they always visited my father and Jamilah. His parents had been nice too that they would always call us as we were living in our mansion.

"Yes!" He retorted back making me jump happily as I hugged him.

"Thank you, hubby!" I beamed making him smile while kissing my cheeks. To love and be loved was the best feeling ever!

All in all, it had been a long journey that I couldn't wait to enjoy the remaining years happily with my Alex, forever!

I was the luckiest girl ever to exist in the world!

"The world is not cruel that people view it to be!" I repeated loudly causing Alex to smile again.

No matter how hard it might be, hard work and God with determination could take one far just like me and my Alex.

"I love you!" I said then kissed him on his lips.

"I love you too!" He answered in a husky voice and I immediately knew what he needed. Anyway, I would give it to him because it belonged to him. Hahaha!

"Can I?" He asked making me blush while nodding.

With my consent, he carried me in a bridal style and we got inside our mansion ready to enjoy our beautiful marriage!
