13 Years

"ROARRR!!" A fierce roar echoed throughout the mountain range.

Deep in the mountain range stood a 9 foot tall Black Devil Bear. Opposite of the Devil Bear stood a shockingly handsome youth. Although his hair was disheveled, it only added to his looks, granting him a type of unruly handsomeness. His physique was amazing. He was not very big but his muscles were evenly toned and his shoulders broad.

The Black Devil Bear stare daggers at this youth. A moment before the it was engaged in brute combat with the youth and was actually beat back. How could it accept this? The bear stomped the ground and charged again.

Seeing this the youth sneered. "Dumb bear."

When the bear was close enough the youth leapt into the air. Reaching a height of 5 meters before being his arms together and smashing down like Demonic Ape.

Under the the force of the blow from the youth, the skull of the Devil Black Bear nearly turned to dust. But although it didn't completely turn to dust, the Devil Black Bear was dead nonetheless.

*Clap-Clap-Clap* Sitting in a nearby tree another youth slowly clapped wittinessing this scene. The youth who took the baby away 13 years ago in the youth in the tree were one of the same. Because of his cultivation it seemed as tho he had only aged about a year or two.

"Little Brother Radiant Sun, it looks as though these low ranked Devil Beast are no match for you when it comes to brute strength. I'm beginning to think that you're some type of beast yourself." The youth in the tree said with a mocking smile while he gently jumped down from the tree.

"Big Brother praises me too much. But who knows, maybe I am a beast." The chuckling Radiant Sun replied.

Radiant Sun picked up the 9 foot Devil Black Bear and threw it across the back of his shoulders and followed behind the lead of his brother, deeper into the mountain range.

An hour later they arrived at a small cave. The cave contained two beds made of stone and some wood for fire. This cave had been their home for the last 13 years.

The older youthused his sword to cut up and skin the Devil Black Bear before starting a fire and slowly roasting it. By the time the food was properly cooked it was already well into the night.

Even though the food was done, Radiant Sun had yet to take a bite. He sat near the entrance of the cave, peering out into the night with his bright golden eyes.

"Big Brother" He called out without turning around to look at him in the cave. A few seconds went by before he continued. "When can we leave this mountain range?"

The youth referred to as big brother was sitting by the fire inside of the cave. When he heard this question he sighed before replying "When you're strong enough to take care of yourself."

Radiant Sun's golden eyes turned into a bright red as quickly stood up and turned to face the older youth. "Bullshit! I've been training here for years! Everyday I wake up and train and until night. I can beat almost any beast in this entire mountain range. Am I not strong enough yet?" All these years Radiant Sun has trained bitterly day in and day out. He was tired of living in seclusion. He wanted to meet people. He wanted to see the world. After he finished speaking, without waiting for a reply he turned and sat back down, looking out the entrance of the cave.

When he saw Radiant Sun's eyes turn bright red he had discreetly gripped the hilt of his sword. He had seen his eyes turn scarlet one other time. Once when he was in a fight with a Devil Beast he seemed as though he was on the losing end but then his eyes turned into a glowing red and seemed as though he had become a completely different person. Back then he released an indescribable dreadful aura even though he has yet to cultivate. Since that day the older youth has silently been on guard.

Seeing Radiant Sun turn and sit back down, the older youth sighed as he stood up walked to the side of Radiant Sun, also peering out into the the world. "Brute force doesn't account for much out there in the real world little brother. Sure it plays a part but so does cultivation and the understanding of laws and you currently have neither of those. Believe me, I want to leave here just as much as you but until you can protect yourself I won't ever feel at peace letting you leave. You're different from other people and because of that you will often be subject to ridicule and bullying. I just want you to be safe"

Time went past and there was no reply from Radiant Sun. The two brothers just sat there until the both eventually fell asleep.

Time flowed as weeks went by. The followed the same routine they would go out and capture Devil Beast for food and would return to the cave by night.

One morning Radiant Sun was preparing to go out to catch more Devil Beast when his older brother stopped him. "We're not going to catch Devil Beast today." The older youth said blandly."

Radiant Sun was slightly shocked, "Don't tell me we're going to sit in the cave all day?"

"No" Said the older youth. "Come sit down. I'm going to teach you about cultivation."

Hearing this, Radiant Sun's eyes lit up so much that they could illuminate the sky. He quickly sat down in front of the older youth, prepared to take in all the information.

"There's a total of 5 cultivation ranks that I'm sure of. Transcending Mortality, Divine Awakening, Novie Immortal, Grand Immortal, And Immortal Monarch. Each Rank is broken up into 3 tiers, which are Amateur, Profound and Extreme. Cultivating is the process of absorbing cosmic energy into your elixir field located in your lower abdomen." The older youth went on and on sharing his experiences in cultivation and tips to Radiant Sun before he stopped talking.

After listening to the older youth, Radiant Sun came to find out the reason why he had never thought him how to cultivate before. Absorbing cosmic energy could be really dangerous to those would weak bodies and could cripple them by exploding the elixir field or even directly kill them. The older youth proceeded to ask Radiant Sun some questions to make sure he understood the things he had just told him.

After making sure that Radiant Sun had retained all the information he said "Now sit down in a mediation position and ease both your mind and heart. I want you to try cultivating for yourself."
