Act Three

(As time goes on, Ike grows up asking his mother who is his father until he is up to fifteen years. Inside the hut, Ike questioning his mother).

Ike: Mama, I'm confused. Some people calling me the son of the gods while some are calling me a child growing without a father. Please tell me this time, where is my father? (Standing waiting for Nnena to speak up).

Nnena:(Signs). Mmm... Ike, the people who called you son of the gods is true. They were present that day you were born. You are the true son of the gods.

Ike:(He sat close to his mother). The gods? Can I see him mama?

Nnena: No one sees the gods, but I can take you to a place where you can hear his voice and know your mission in this village.

Ike:(Confused). My mission? What mission is that?

Scene one

(Nnena and Ike coming into the shrine where the crown of Clay is kept).

Nnena:(Standing in front of the crown holding Ike's hand) Now say My Father.

Ike:(With a loud voice). My father!

Voice: My son.

Ike:(Looking for where the voice is coming from). Where are you father?

Voice: I'm the gods of this Village, no one sees me. I made your mother give birth to you which makes me your spiritual father. Your mission in this village is to guard the Crown of Clay.

Ike:(Looking at the crown). Guard the Crown of Clay?

Voice: Yes, when you are strong enough, You will be appointed to guard the Crown. Your mother will explain the significance of this Crown to the village. (Ike looked at Nnena as she smiled at him). Nnena please take Care of my son.

Nnena: Yes Lord. (She bows then took Ike along with her as they both left the shrine. As they were going, they met the king coming with his son the prince heading toward the shrine).

King:(Looking at Nnena surprised). Don't tell me you are coming out of the shrine?

Nnena:(She bows her head with no response).

King:(Thinks she hold the Crown). Where is the Crown of Clay? (Nnena hold Ike as they left the scene. The king took his son and rushed to the shrine. Seeing the Crown of Clay safe where it was). I thought she took it.

Daniel: Dad what's so special about this Crown?

King: My son, that's why I brought you here to tell you about the Crown of Clay so when you grow up the gods will appoint you to guard the Crown. The Crown signifies the beauty of black in the Village, it was made by the gods. It all started... (He tells Daniel about the Crown of Clay as light fades).

(In the hut, Ike and Nnena discussing).

Ike: Mama, why is the king suspecting you took the Crown of Clay when he did not go to the shrine to find out? And you never told him I'm the son of the gods.

(In the evening, Ike was inside while Nnena was outside preparing food. She then sight Ada coming towards her hut).

Ada: My friend! My friend!! (Coming closer to Nnena).

Nnena: Ada where have you been since? It's been a while.

Ada: My dear I just thank God I got married earlier last two months.

Nnena: You are now married?

Ada: Yes na. (She smiled).

Nnena: Yeeeee!!! (She became happy for Ada as they both sat on a chair). So you got married since and it's now you are telling me?

Ada: My friend I'm sorry, I am less busy today so I came to visit my friend.

Nnena: I'm happy for you. Have you seen the chioma.

Ada: Not yet, I will go to her house later. Ehhn, what of your son?

Nnena: Oh Ike! He is inside. (She calls out Ike's name as he came out).

Ike: Yes mama. (Standing beside Nnena).

Nnena:(Looking at Ike pointing to Ada). I want you to meet my friend Ada.

Ike: Good evening ma.

Ada: Evening son of the gods. (Ike was shocked). You are really growing to be strong. You are a true son of the gods. (Turns to Nnena). You are really taking good care of him. Am sure the gods will be proud of you.

Nnena: My dear, all things are possible if the gods interfere. (Ike went inside as both discuss more on Ada's wedding. Lights Fades).
