Crow's Lost Memories

Corvin is a boy who grew up with dreams of changing the world. Humanity is in the brink of civilization changing revolutions. As the waves of turmoil create change, he gets the chance and connections to lead the change of his homeland along with his friends. Will he be able to change the world in the way he wants during the industrial revolution of his planet, or will he fail as he uncovers the truth about reality and his real identity? A/N: This is my first work, and just a simple hobby of mine but I do take it seriously. I want to keep some parts of it different from the rest like how the magic works, and I know it may turn out more complicated than classic game-esque magic, I still like that kind of worldbuilding. I appreciate constructive criticism. Currently 1 chapter per week because I am busy with uni exams. Will be back to 2 per 3 days after everything is over, which will take about three months.

C30- The Destruction of Piscea (1)

"Here is the inn that the two stayed at before going north Mr. Vyolor."

"Thank you. I can find their room myself so you can go back to the town hall."

"Then I am leaving Mr. Vyolor.", said Ellie, bowed and left the inn.

Felyp nodded his head and turned back. He found ad employee and asked where the two stayed at. He learned the number and walked towards the room.

"Now... That girl stays at the next room but... There are two rooms next to their room. Which one is it..."

Felyp wondered what he should do. As he chose one door randomly to knock, the other room opened. A blonde girl got out of the room, and walked past Felyp.

'Blonde... Is that her?'

He stopped the girl by holding her arm. She turned back and asked.

"What, old man? I am busy. Go annoy another woman."

She didn't look annoyed at all. Rather, she looked emotionless.

"Are you the friend of Noah and Corvin, perhaps?"

"Do you know them?"

'It was the wrong door...'

"Yes, I am Noah's father. I heard they befriended you."

"More like employed, but yeah, you could say that. Now that I look, you look like Noah, sir. So? What do you need from me?"

"I want to ask you some questions."

"I have somethings to take care of..."

"I won't take a lot of your time."

"...Okay. Please get in the room then."

Felyp and Amy walked in the room and started talking. Amy talked about how she came here and how they met, her employment and where the two went.

"So... You used to be royalty until the plague ended your kingdom, and you fled here and are now working for the company?"

"Yes."

"That is a crazy story. Are you okay?"

"? Why wouldn't I be?"

"Because you lost your family not long ago."

"Oh, I am taking a drug to suppress my emotions right now."

Felyp rubbed his forehead and inhaled deeply.

'These kids... How did they leave her alone here...'

"It must have been to-"

Before Felyp could end his sentence, loud screams cut him off. The room to Amy's door suddenly opened. It was Jack, his trusted subordinate.

"Sir! Some kind of magical light caused a monster outbreak! Humanoid monsters are attacking the city!"

"What?"

Amy and Felyp stood up instantly. Felyp turned towards Amy.

"Do you know anything about this?"

"Do the monsters look like humans with rat skulls?"

"Yes.", answered Jack.

"I see... It must be the ratmen."

"What is it?", asked Felyp.

"These monsters are humans who have been turned into monsters by the plague. And they are controlled by the colossus Noah and Corvin went to kill. They may have failed, and caused some sort of disaster."

Felyp's expression soured a bit.

"Can you give me a paper and a pen?"

"Here."

Amy gave them to Felyp. Felyp started hastily writing a letter. Jack brought an envelope and Felyp signed the letter and gave it to Jack.

"Jack, bring this to either the emperor, or the crown prince. Whoever you can find that is leading the army currently. It is an emergency."

"Yes, Sir!"

Jeck hurriedly left the inn. Felyp turned back to Amy.

"Where did the two go? Where do you think they are?"

"I can show you the last direction I saw them go towards but... they flew there with magic. You might not be able to get there in time."

"That's okay. You just have to show me where they went towards."

"Okay, then we need to get to the hospital first. But that place is probably filled with ratmen."

"It's okay, I have strong comrades with me."

"Then, let me show you the way, please."

Felyp gathered his men and went to the hospital with Amy's lead. There were a bunch of ratmen around, attacking whatever they saw.

Felyp and his team started to help the civilians. Clark and Dennis were protecting a large old shop, whose owner was dead, where the injured were gathered. The injured were treated by Olivia. Felyp went ahead and started to clear the area around the hospital.

Amy went into the building to help with the treatment. She walked up to Olivia, who was dealing with a patient who passed out after seeing worms move under his skin and getting horrified.

"Mister, I am not hurting you! I am sorry that it looks like this, but I am really good at my job!"

"Are you Ms. Olivia?"

"Like I sa- Huh?"

She turned towards Amy.

"Ye-yes. How can I help you?"

"You can use biological magic, right?"

"Yes. Healing and physical enhancement, to be precise."

"Do you know a child named Corvin?"

"Ah! That kid! Margrave's disciple, I do know him, of course."

"He actually discovered something that might be useful to you."

"Hm? What did he do?"

"Well, we both were busy with this plague so we didn't get too much into it but, the research papers are here."

She gave her a bunch of papers.

"I have some medicine made with magic, so plase feel free to read them now and get a rest, while I help the patients in your place. It will take a while for Mr. Vyolor to need me anyways, so I might as well make myself useful."

"O-okay... Is this okay? He didn't publish these yet, right?"

"It's okay, probably."

"Probably?"

"He would do the same, I am sure, so it's okay."

"I-If you say so, I will take a look at these.", she said and left the building.

Amy started treating the injured with her medicine. After a while, Olivia got inside the building again with a bright smile.

"Th-this is amazing! The Margrave needs to reward his disciple! If this research is completed, it will change healing magic forever!"

"I think so too. Do you want to try it? Your magic with better knowledge?"

"Yes.", said Olivia excitedly.

She walked towards someone who broke their leg. She extended her hand towards the broken leg, and closed her eyes. Her hand started to glow light green like her hair, and a big caterpillar emerged from her palm and landed on the man's broken leg. The caterpillar created a pupae around the wound and after half a minute, a butterfly with light green body and transparent wings emerged from the pupae. The butterfly flew for a few seconds and then dispersed into nothing, and the man's leg was healed like it wasn't even hurt at all.

The man thanked Olivia and got up to get a meal, since healing magic still took nutrients out of the body.

Olivia stared at her hands dazedly, then her face got bright as a smile appeared on her face. She started jumping around in joy.

"They weren't worms! They were caterpillars! Did you see that butterfly? Did you see it?", she asked Amy.

"Ye-yes. I did see it. It was beautiful, right?"

"Yes! Yes! It was! It was beautiful!"

After the little celebration, the two went back to treating the injured. As Amy finished treating another person, Felyp entered the building, and walked towards Amy.

"This part of the city is safe for now. Reinforcements are coming, so show me where the two went. I will bring them back."

"Right. Let's go, Mr. Vyolor.", said Amy.
