Chapter 1: Rose Cousins

[The Beginning Arc Prologue]

"So, Rainbow Academy?" a certain curly, black haired, red-eyed princess asked while resting her head on her palms, appearing quite interested. Actually, this was already her last year in high school and she slightly wondered why her parents suddenly decided to send her to a proper "school".

"Yes." a deep voice replied her. The voice belonged to her knight. A handsome man with slightly wavy black hair and blue eyes like the ocean.

The princess looked outside the limousine's window, gazing at the clouds that flew passed. She secretly laughed internally. If humans were to see a flying limousine right now, they will probably faint due to shock. But unfortunately, the vehicle was under a cloaking spell in order for humans not to see it.

She sighed and turned towards the man beside her.

"Ne, Haji, do you think Sumire and the others will be there too?"

Haji nodded, his face blank like usual. "I'm sure. After all, princess, all of the Kingdoms have come to an agreement that you must now show yourselves to the world."

"Hmm... You're right. As always." The princess said with a sigh. "But!"

Haji was taken aback when suddenly, the princess turned towards him with a glare. He sighed internally, knowing what she will probably say.

"I already told you. Call me Saya." the princess said gently. Since they were young, Haji used to call her by her name but as they got older, etiquette started to be a part of him and since then, he always called her formally which, in all honesty, annoyed her.

Haji turned to pat Saya's head, his face still blank but if one were to look closely, one would see the warmth in his eyes as he stared at the princess before him.

"Alright. As you wish."

After a few minutes, the sight of a floating island surrounded by vast rainbows were seen as the limo headed nearer. This was Rainbow Academy. The Academy of the clouds, literally.

The academy in itself was in fact an island. With all facilities like the school itself, markets and all kinds of necessary buildings to make living on the academy convenient. The students here in this academy were no ordinary beings either. They were either people with extraordinary abilities like gifted humans, like Haji, and there were also people like Saya, which were dominion angels.

The limo went inside the the main entrance of the island but entered at the back gate of the school due to certain "reasons".

Haji went outside the limo first to assist Saya.

"Are you ready, Saya?" Haji asked as he stretched out a hand for Saya to hold.

Saya nodded with a smile and out her hand on Haji's. "Mn. Ready. Let's go."

And at that, the both of them headed and walked towards the main halls of the school. Saya was visibly excited as she was impressed with the schools decor and scenery. The plants and flowers were beautifully planted and they were healthy. The walls were painted a pretty shade of peach with hints of mint and white. The whole scenery seemed bright and full of light. Truly refreshing and nice to look at.

So this is what a high class academy is like. Saya thought.

She was so engrossed with the scenery so much that she didn't notice someone was walking opposite her and in which, resulted in them bumping into each other.

"Ow!"

"Ow!"

The both of them exclaimed in pain and held each other's heads. The both of them seemed genuinely surprised and thought to themselves they were really clumsy.

"Saya!"

"Hime-sama!"

At those voices, the both of them looked towards the two men going towards their direction.

They both looked at each other and instant recognition passed each other's eyes.

"Sumi? Is that you?" Saya asked with widened eyes, her lips set in a wide smile.

The girl, Sumi, laughed. "It's indeed me. But first, let's get up first."

Saya laughed and nodded. She stared at her cousin as she stood up and thought that she was still the same as she remembered her.

Sumire Romanov Hatori. The next heir of the Purple Rose Kingdom. She had hair the color of the deep violet and eyes purple and sparkling like the galaxy.

Rose Kingdom had five divisions separated into five colors. Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple. Each with a female heir and Sumire was one of them.

"Are you alright, princess?" A deep voice laced with worry asked. Saya looked towards the ever worry-wart Shimozoku Morinokate, her cousin Sumi's knight otherwise known as Shimo for short.

"Shimo! Long time no see!" Saya greeted him.

Shimozoku bowed and gave his greetings, his silver hair glistening in the sunlight. "Likewise, your Highness."

Saya sighed. It really can't be helped, can it?

Just as she was lamenting in her thoughts, loud squealing reverberated and pierced through their eardrums.

"What was that?" Saya asked in puzzlement, turning to look at her cousin.

Sumire looked at Saya and face-palmed. "It would seem the rest has arrived."

Immediate understanding passed Saya's eyes.

She sighed. This is exactly the reason why she went inside through the back gate.

She then turned her attention on the growing crowd need the entrance.

Even if it seemed pretty crowded with all the students gathering at a certain point, they still made way for the three very beautiful girls all with distinctly different features.

One had an icy demeanor paired with icy blue hair and silver eyes, Kiede Icie Oda, the Blue Rose princess. The other one had hair the color of the forest and evergreen eyes, the Green Rose princess, Urika Glen Ukozawa.

One girl that caught Saya's eye though was a girl with hair like the sun and gold eyes, Rinne Sunne Nokimo, the Yellow Rose Princess. Because she was waiving intensely at them.

"Anyways, we should probably meet up with them." she said as she waived back.

Sumire shook her head. "Nope. Not happening. If we were to meet up with them right now, we will be trampled by students."

"Hm. You've got a point, but.." Saya then pointed at the back of Sumire. "Too late."

Sumire turned to look around her but instantly regretted because the students recognized them and ran towards them with all of their might.

What was this? Some sort of Zombie Apocalypse?!

Both of their knights noticed the commotion and turned to hold each of the princesses' hand.

"Saya, let's run!"

"Princess, let's run!"

The four of them panted and gasped for air as they entered their classroom for the whole year.

The classroom was shaped like a Stadium. It had the usual peach and mint paint found all over the campus. The board up front was large though it was not a blackboard, more like a place to project something which was practical considering the size of the room.

As they turned to sit down on the front row, eyes turned to their figures.

Saya sighed. It's like we're some sort of endangered species or something.

She then looked at Haji and saw him reaching for a water bottle in his bag. He reached it out towards her. "Drink some."

Saya nodded. "Thank you."

After drinking, she handed it back to Haji but she was surprised at what he did next.

He opened up the bottle and drank directly from it.

She turned away from him, embarrassed. Was that an indirect kiss just now?

"Saya? Are you alright? Why are your ears suddenly red?" Haji asked with worry, noticing Saya's strange behavior.

Saya was now truly embarrassed. Why'd he have to ask her such a question?

But before she could answer and before Haji could inquire further, sudden screaming and squealing echoed around the whole classroom that one has no choice but to cover their ears.

Saya looked towards the direction of the door and saw four handsome men with different hair colors enter the room.

"Wait, could they possibly be..."
