Sisters

Chapter 9: Sisters

[Prelude to Chaos Arc]

"I'm home, sister." The instant Saya heard and saw the red haired and the red eyed woman in front of her, she instantly ran and hugged the woman tight and squealed.

"Seya!! I can't believe you're back!" Saya exclaimed as she let go. She grinned at the woman widely. The woman still hasn't changed since the last time they both saw each other. They still looked absolutely like each other. After all, the woman was Saya's other half, her elder twin sister, Seya Rossa Ariomasha.

The both of them had the same face but both of them differ slightly just by the obvious difference in their hair color and a slight difference in their eye colors when they activated their powers. Saya had back hair whilst Seya had fiery ones. Saya had a deeper shade of red whenever she used her powers while Seya's went to borderline orange.

"I can't believe it either." Seya said as she grinned sheepishly at Saya. "Though I can see you've grown a little bit from your overly happy attitude." She teased and grinned.

Among the two of them, Seya was the one who always teased Saya even when they were still children.

"Seeyaaa. I'm not a child anymore, you know?" Saya whined purposely, to tease her elder sister. Then she slapped Seya's shoulder playfully. "I'm a grown up woman." she continued and straitened her back.

Seya laughed at Saya's inhibitions and Saya laughed along with her, amused at their antics.

Saya really missed her. They were apart for a very long time because Seya decided to go to a faraway school down the human world. She said that she wanted to travel the human world and that it fascinates her. Well, Saya can't technically blame her. They both lovef to travel although Saya's travels are far less limited for she will be the heir to the throne. Besides, Seya also had her fair share of responsibilities in Khorah, the realm of life or otherwise known as Earth. She was the one in charge of the intelligence network there as told by our parents.

"What's the matter?" Seya asked, worried.

Saya just shook her head. Seya must've noticed how her mood suddenly changed.

Saya smiled once more to ease her worry. Seya just got here, she didn't want to dampen her mood. "Anyways, what brings you here aside from seeing me?"

Saya mentally sighed in relief when Seya's smile was back. "I came here because I heard you are on a dangerous mission. I just want to make sure you're alright. And also because I was tasked to help you." She said while looking at her with unmistakable worry evident in her auburn like eyes, much like mine. But Saya sensed there was something Seya wasn't telling her.

"Seya, I think there is something you aren't telling me." Saya told her seriously. Being her twin, she could sense things about her that no one else can. Even if you were a mind reader or otherwise.

But instead of replying, Seya shook her head and smiled sadly. Something like regret passing her eyes momentarily and immediately disappeared almost like it wasn't there.

"There are things that are best kept hidden for your safety. Remember that, Saya."

A few hours later, word spread that Seya was finally back after a long time. But Saya didn't focus much on that matter. Rather, she still kept thinking over what her sister just told her. What was Seya hiding that she thought wasn't safe for her? And why was she hiding it?

These puzzles just keep adding up.

"Oommphh" Saya accidentally bumped on someone's chest without realizing it. Before she could apologize, a strikingly cold pair of hands held her steadily.

"Are you alright, miss?" she glanced up and immediately saw a pair of dark violet eyes that seemed to flicker in the light. And she didn't miss the mole on the bottom of his right eye either. Saya thought it brought out his eyes. Aside from his mesmerizing eyes though, she couldn't help admit that he was really handsome. But something seemed to bother her about him. His skin is way too pale, much more paler than Haji's and Haji's skin tone is slightly paler than hers. So that's saying something. Maybe he's sick?

"Um, miss?" Saya snapped out of her reverie as he called her. She shook her head out of her ridiculous train of mind and immediately apologized for being clumsy.

He laughed at her, seemingly amused but then said it was fine. Saya blushed in embarrassment. She was a princess but at this moment, she looked nothing like one.

He still lightly chucked that somehow made Saya feel uncomfortable. His laugh was different, it feels...dark.

She was not used to being laughed at except maybe by her cousins and their knights, never strangers. And unknowingly, she creased her brows, making her gorgeous face even more enchanting.

"Saya?" at the sound of that voice, she looked up and saw Haji holding a huge stack of papers, probably for the reports she was supposed to write during the next week. And instead of feeling down because of the amount of papers he was holding she felt undeniable relief at his presence.

Saya saw Haji looking over to the strange man beside her as he walked towards their direction. And as if sensing her immense discomfort, he faced her with a worried frown before changing to his usual blank face.

"Saya, we should get back inside the palace. You still have a lot of reports to finish." Haji said as she nodded. They walked away and Saya did not dare look back. Something about that guy's aura crept the hell out of her.
