Chapter 2: Princes, Duties and awesome powers

[The Beginning Arc]

As the loud squealing reverberated the entire classroom, four handsome men entered, with obviously different features.

Saya and Sumire sighed as they looked at each other. They really weren't surprised they were here.

Saya then stared at the newly arrived people and slowly assessed them.

One had fiery red hair and blazing red eyes. His demeanor was like a king ready to explode and burn everything. He was the next heir to the throne of the Red Kingdom, Blaze Reinne.

The other one, she was quite familiar with. He had a calm demeanor as if he was a leaf on a tree swaying by the wind. The next heir of the Green Kingdom, Pierre Midori. He was also one of her closest childhood friend.

She then turned to the one beside PIerre and saw someone with a blank face. He had the deepest, yet most mesmerizing violet hair color one has ever seen, paired with indigo eyes that seemed straight out from the sky. The next heir of the Violet Kingdom, V Murasaki. And yes, his name is only V.

"Sai-sai! Long time no see!" at the sound of that very familiar voice, Saya visibly cringed. She absolutely hated that nickname from the depths of her bones.

She looked towards the direction of the voice and saw a man with blonde hair and honeyed eyes. She wasn't all that surprised that he still had those red bobby pins on his hair, too. He had those ever since they were children.

But nonetheless, she smiled at her childhood friend, Kise Reinnessen. "long time no see indeed, *Kise-kise."

(a/n: *Kise-kise here is a wordplay from my mothertongue that means "squirming")

"Long time no see to you too, Kise." Sumire sounded out from beside me.

Kise smiled at her widely. "Sum-sum!"

Sumire sighed. Truth be told, she also absolutely hated that nickname.

Sumire looked at him and smiled knowingly. "You're looking for Rinne, right?"

Kise nodded. "Hm. Where's Rin-rin?"

"She's sitting at the end of this row. You can go and find her."

Kise said his thanks and then went on his way.

Saya then turned to Sumire to whisper something.

"The Blue Kingdom's heir hasn't been found yet has he?"

Sumire nodded. "Yes. It's been years since he disappeared. Who knows what happened to him."

Saya then looked ahead. All of Rainbow Kingdom had heirs but only the Blue Kingdom hasn't. Apparently, long ago, the prince was kidnapped by his nurse and was no longer seen since then.

She sighed. This is going to be a long day...

On a very wide field with green grass and the blazing sun above, Saya sat on a bench with Haji sitting just right beside her, looking towards the other students showing their powers to the teachers. Apparently, This was done every year to see to what extent and how powerful one's power is, the Power Enhancement Test.

"Princess Saya Rossa Ariomasha, you're up next." the teacher yelled over the field, gesturing for Saya to come.

Saya sighed and turned to look at Haji. Haji gave her a reassuring smile and patted her head.

Saya smiled and turned to head over.

She stood at the center of the wide, round shaped platform and readied herself.

Instantly, the surroundings changed and she found herself in the realm of death and darkness, Xhorina. A realm where the darkest and the baddest of monsters are banished.

A slight smile appeared on Saya's beautiful face as hundred monsters turned and immediately ran towards her direction.

She closed her eyes and when she opened them, the once amber colored eyes were now a mesmerizing shade of red, red like the most exquisite rubies. On her cheek, there appeared a red rose emblem, a sign of her activated powers.

She then bit a part of her thumb and let a drop of blood on the ground. Instantly, a red rose bloomed and then immediately scattered its petals on her command.

Each of her roses held a hundred petals though they may not look like they had that many. She then directed each of the petals over to the hundred monsters heading her way and the instant the petals touched their bodies, they immediately crystallized and scattered like dust.

After the monsters were defeated one-sided, the surroundings turned back to normal. The expressions on some of the other student's faces were indescribable. The others probably didn't know who she was or have heard but didn't know what powers she possessed.

She sighed again for the hundredth time. Her powers being powerful never really came as a surprise to the entire Red Rose Kingdom. But what came as a surprise was that her powers surpassed that of the other heirs which meant she was not only going to become Queen of her own kingdom someday but Queen of both the Rose and Rainbow Kingdom, the Ultimate Queen. And apparently, an Ultimate Queen had not appeared in over a thousand years because of weakened power due to some war back then.

She was still lost in her thoughts that she didn't notice Haji walked over to where she was, his face in a panic. He suddenly had this feeling that something terrible was about to happen.

Saya sensed something and looked over to where Haji was. Haji was her knight so she also felt that something was bothering him.

"What's wrong?" she asked worriedly for Haji's face was paler than usual and that's saying something for he was already pale in the first place.

But before he could even reply, a loud booming sound echoed around the field blowing away soil and rocks, even going as far as to have blown over students. If it weren't for Haji holding on to her in time, it was possible for Saya to have been blown away, too.

Not far from where they were standing, an unfamiliar silhouette stood. From the looks of it, it was a woman with a hood covering her face.

Saya searched through her memories for she seemed to have seen an image like this before.

Wait, but that's impossible right? How could that be? She was already dead according to ancient scrolls and books!

the hooded woman smirked evilly and instant chills ran up everyone spines at that moment.

"Miss me, princess?"
