Chapter Forty One

"Oh Lord!" Alex shouted desperately.

She looked at her cellphone, which was lying on the coffee table beside the sofa where she was sitting now. The television screen that was showing the drama series was perfectly ignored at all. She ruffled her hair in annoyance and cursed loudly afterwards.

"I'm done. I won't ask where that bastard is," she grumbled. "If you call me, don't expect me to pick up! I don't care about you!"

It's been more than a month since Adrian disappeared without a trace. The last time she saw the man was when they had dinner together and Adrian told her about the girl he liked. The day after tomorrow, the man disappeared like a bubble. She had waited until midnight at the man's apartment, but her best friend hadn't come home. The next day, when she woke up in the morning, the side next to her was still neat, a clear sign that no one had slept beside her at all.
