Confussion

Dr Sarah adjusted her small reading glasses as she scribbled rough notes on her patient's case. "So you're saying that you just woke up in the streets of Lilongwe with no recollection of your identity ?".

"Exactly, except for my first name ".She answered in a confused tone of voice, trying hard to toast her brain, hoping to remember something. She sighed and leaned against the white table in the doctor's office. "I don't know anything doctor,I've lost it completely ".

"Relax, Kate. It's a simple case of Amnesia and i don't know how it came about since you don't recall anything.Maybe you must have fallen and hit you're head hard, or an accident of some sort.Tell me, Kate, did you have any kind of head injury , or a bruise, or a headache when you woke up in the streets that day?

"No ,had no head injury, no bruise, no headache. It was if just slept then woke up the next day in the streets without memories".Kate took a deep breath and stared at the white ceiling and leaned backwards on the fancy black leather office chair. She thought of why this was happening to her and each thought sparked frustration. "I'm a mess, doctor,please help me ".She cried.

Okay kate, please calm down, it is my duty as a psychiatrist to assist her patients, I'll prescribe some meds and i know they will help work the magic, you're memories will definitely come back to you in no time."She said with a convincing smile ."Give me a minute ".She pushed the black leather Chair with her back, stood up and walked across the office to get the medications. Dr Sarah Jackson was a very experienced and well known psychiatrist who studied in the U.S. and based in Malawi. She was a tall, stout,black woman with short black hair, probably in her early fortees but in very good shape, no different from a woman in her late twenties.

Kate looked around the office ,admired the ambiance and looked at the people who passed by outside, for the office had a large glass window that offered a great view.

Dr Sarah made it back to her seat, Scribbled some more notes while starting at her through her glasses as if looking through her flesh.

"Take, these ".She handed kate some meds, tablets. These should be taken two times a day, two in the morning after breakfast and two after supper before sleep, I'll keep having appointments with you and if anything is still troubling you or experience other changes, I'm just a phone call far away".

"Alright, doctor, thank you ".

They shook hands .Kate jumped to her feet, jammed her hands into the pockets of her trench coat and walked out of the office, out of the building and walked along the streets of Lilongwe off to the apartment she stayed with her friend ,Frossy.
