Chapter 7: Meeting with Lumia

Daemon's point of view:

After finishing training with Priest, Daemon said goodbye to Damian and his family. The training had been intense, but rewarding. I had learned few things but it all added up. Tomorrow I would go to Damian's house again to train with his father, he would be in town for 1 week.

As he walked back home, his mind was occupied with everything he had learned. However, his thoughts were interrupted when he saw a familiar figure in the city market.

Lumia, childhood friend and love interest of the former Daemon, a girl with pink hair, short and blue eyes, was dressed in a simple dress of green fabric that fell to her ankles. While she was buying flowers at a market stall, her gaze crossed the figure of Daemon, who decided to maintain the pace of his walk without stopping.

Lumia, however, noticed it immediately and approached him with a disdainful expression, her frown and tight lips revealing her displeasure at his distant attitude.

*Lumia:* "Wow, Daemon, again I thought I made it clear to you last time"

Daemon frowned. He had always disliked Lumia, and now, with her new perspective, he disdained her even more. Without stopping, he looked at her without flinching.

*Daemon:* "I'm just on my way home, Lumia. I'm not bothering you, so get lost and don't bother me."

Daemon continued on his way without looking back, leaving a stunned Lumia in the market.

Lumia's point of view:

Today was a beautiful day. Lumia had decided to buy flowers to leave on the grave of her father, a former adventurer and former guardian of her village. He had been a skilled swordsman who gave his life facing a monster that threatened the place. The loss of her father had been a devastating blow to Lumia. Since then, she had vowed to become a strong warrior to avenge him. The monster that had killed him was never found, it only fled after her father gave it a considerable wound, but Lumia was determined to find it, confront it and put an end to it.

While she was selecting the flowers, she saw a few meters away Daemon, her silly childhood friend obsessed with her. To Lumia, Daemon was attractive and brave, but she did not consider him strong. And she liked strong men. Lumia was going to be one of the strongest swordsmen on the continent, and she needed an equally strong partner. Daemon was anything but strong in her eyes.

Preparing to reject him again, Lumia approached with a sarcastic smile.

*Lumia:* "Daemon, what are you doing here? I thought I made it clear last time"

Daemon looked at her coldly and responded without stopping.

*Daemon:* "I'm just returning home. Don't bother me and get lost."

Lumia was surprised by her attitude. She had never seen him so indifferent. A strange feeling arose inside her, but she quickly composed herself. She assumed Daemon was trying another tactic to get her attention.

As she watched Daemon walk away from her without looking back, Lumia felt uneasy. There was something different about him, something she couldn't put her finger on.

She shook her head, trying to get rid of the uncomfortable feeling. Her thoughts returned to her mission. Lumia couldn't allow herself to be distracted. She needed to focus on her goal: Become strong and then find the monster that killed her father and avenge his death.

Arriving at her father's grave, Lumia carefully placed the flowers, observing with reverence the stone that marked her final resting place. She knelt with a mixture of sadness and determination, and whispered a promise to the wind that caressed the cemetery.

"Father," she whispered, her voice soft but firm, "I promise you that I will find that beast and destroy it. I will become the strongest warrior and bring justice for you."

Deep in her heart, as she made this solemn promise, a torrent of turbulent emotions stirred within Lumia. The loss of her father had left a wound that she had not yet completely healed, and every day her thirst for revenge grew more intense. But there was also a sense of vulnerability, an internal struggle between her desire for justice and her fear of what she might find in searching for it.

Despite her harsh attitude towards Daemon and her focus on his goal of revenge, deep down, Lumia longed for peace and justice for both her father and herself. her wounded heart.
