Austin

This side and short story is about how Skie and Diola became a couple after an unexpected misunderstanding.

It was September 1st; 3 months had passed since Diola together with her best friends started their first year at Crescent Moon University or CMU. This was a special day for her because after 3 months, her infatuation had finally bloomed.

It was the 1st day of June and school was just starting. Diola was sitting alone on their new classroom waiting for her friends to arrive, she was so excited to go to her new school that she went earlier than expected.

A few people, as excited as her were already their too, talking with each other mingling with each other. She stood up and was about to go to the comfort room when a young man approached her.

"Hi! I'm Austin." He said

"Hello, I'm Diola." She replied slightly embarrassed

They shook hands and started to get to know each other.

"Diola!" a girl behind her called out.

Diola and Austin turned to see who it was, it was Diola's best friend Candie, together with her other best friend. Austin blushed when he saw them.

"What took you so long?" Diola hugged them.

"Guys, this is Austin. Austin these are my friends from the right Candie and the big oaf over there is Skie."

"Hey!" Skie reacted which made them laugh making the awkward atmosphere disperse.

"Hi!" they all said in union and introduced themselves again.

They started talking again and soon other people joined them.

From then on, Diola had a crush on Austin. Austin along with his and her friends got closer with each passing day. Her friends knew her secret infatuation and they think he feels the same way too, because of the gestures he shows her.

Once, he gave her some biscuits which she shared with her friends, there was also an incident wherein he let her copy off his homework when she had forgotten to do it and mind you, he didn't let anyone else copy besides Diola and many more similar situations like that.

A few months had past when an unexpected thing happened, the bell had just ringed to signal the end of the class.

"Wew! Finally. Hey! I found a new bakeshop yesterday and their cakes are really delicious, want to go there before we go home?" Candie asked

"Sure!" Skie and Diola agreed.

"Diola! Wait!"

They all turned to see Austin running towards them.

"Hey, what's up?" Diola said trying to calm her nerves

"I have something I've been meaning to ask you."

"What is it?"

"Uhm…" he looked at her friends and blushed.

Uoron and his circle of friends together with Reen and her circle of friends attended the same university however, they attended it in different years as Uoron and his friends are older than Reen and her friends.
