Chapter thirty-six

As they start walking towards their first activity Silas tries to get Sam apart but the boy is in a heated discussion with Sangwon. 

He knew it was a bit far-fetched but he couldn't think of any other way to tell Sam without letting the rest know that something was up.

"Jiwon?" Silas calls upon his beta through their link. In a matter of seconds, Jiwon opens the door to his mind and lets Silas enter.

"Hey, Si, sup?"

"We're gonna go horse riding."

"Now?"

"No, later in the afternoon."

"Okay...nice?"

"Can you tell Zain to tell Sam?"

"Why?"

"Just do it."

"Sure." 

Jiwon closes the door again and looks for Zain. He was talking with Nico as Jake and Jordan were against Dorian and Minseok for a game of Capture the Flag. 

"Hey guys, sorry, Jun, can I steal Z for a sec?"

"Sure," Nico answers.

"Anything I can do for you, Ji?" Zain asks as the two stand a bit away from the rest of their team.

"Si asked if you could tell Sam that they're gonna go horse riding."

"What?!"

"I know right? Why doesn't he just tell him? Why's he making such a big deal out of it?" 

Jiwon looks at Zain who's just looking back at him without saying anything. He waves his hands before his face to get Zain's attention but Zain just puts his hand up in a gesture to silence Jiwon. Then he smiles. 

"Ehm, Z?"

"Sorry, I was talking to my adorable boyfriend."

"Ew," Jiwon cringes.

"You're just jealous," Zain smirks, "It must be really boring to not have a mate."

Jiwon tries his best to keep his laugh under control, "Yeah, sooOOO boring," he answers, not even trying to keep the irony in his voice sustained. Zain makes a questioning look at the boy.

Jiwon shrugs it off by asking, "Is Sam afraid of horses?"

"What?"

"Is that why y'all want him to know?"

"Ji, you know horses get crazy when they're near werewolves, right?"

"Ehm...what?"

"You know, you wouldn't keep your head cool either if someone who'd might want to kill you tried to ride you," and after seeing Jiwon's face he adds, "Not in that way. Well probably also in that way, but that wasn't what I meant. Anyways, the point. It never ends well, they run away or worse when a wolf tries to get near them."

"Guys," they hear Chris yell, "They're done playing, our turn. Come on."

The two join their team and from the look on Dorian's face, they can easily tell they won. 

While walking over, Jiwon and Minseok make eye contact, smilingly he tells him, "Well done, baby." Jiwon sees Minseok's straight face heat up even though he doesn't change the look on his face. 

Minseok somehow can't control the whole telepathy thing yet. He sends thoughts to Jiwon when he doesn't want to and he can't send thoughts that he does want to send.

Samuel makes an end to the conversation he was having with Sangwon and walks up to Silas. 

"We're gonna go horse riding?"

"They are," Silas answers, "We gotta figure out a way to get out of it."

"But how?"

"If I knew I wouldn't say we had to figure it out, would I?"

"I could say I feel nauseous? Sangwon told me we were gonna go rock climbing as the third activity, I could fake being dizzy."

"Lame but good enough. Could work."

After their second activity, the boys were walking toward the climbing area as Silas's head started to turn. He felt tears spring behind his eyes and he was shaking from head to toe. As they realized Silas stopped walking the group turned to him.

Silas couldn't set a foot in their direction and was just standing there. Shaking, not moving a muscle as he looked into the empty space crying. Samuel ran up to him, "Si? Are you okay?"

Silas whimpered after hearing his friend's worried voice. He tried to say something but his mouth wasn't working. He was a crying mess. 

Not because his mate was this close, but because his mate had been this close and was getting farther and farther away, his body went into a state of grief. He collapsed to the floor, shaking with tears.

"Guys!" Samuel yelled, "I'm gonna take him back to our cottage." A stream of accords answers him and he positions himself beneath Silas's armpit and starts walking towards their cottage. When they get there Silas slumps down on the sofa.

"The Oscar for best actor goes to, drum roll, LEE FELIX. whaaaaa. The crowd goes wild," Samuel jokes as he sits down next to Silas, "Damn, Sly. First of all, I thought I was gonna play sick. Second of all, I'm happy you did it 'cause damn you've got some skills."

Silas just looks at Samuel and backs down. "What? Wait, you were acting, right?"

"No."

"What do you mean no? Are you sick? Or afraid of heights maybe?"

"Please just leave me be. I gotta go somewhere. Be right back."

"Wait, what? You're ain't going anywhere. If that was real, you gotta rest some. I won't let you leave."

"Come with me then," Silas says while getting up. Why does it feel like I just lost a family member?

After a minute or two three, a group of eight is seen. 

"Si, why are we here?"

"He's the only one who can comfort me."
