Chapter nine

He felt his pulse quickening and he got a throbbing feeling in his hands, then he felt his eyes getting warmer. Why now? Why here? As he tried to calm down he looked around, searching for the possible source of this.

He didn't have to look for long, because the first thing he looked at was the source. I don't think it's just luck that I found it so fast...I knew it, my wolf knew it-

He threw himself at the dirty clothes basket, but the moment he sat there it didn't improve. Lust. That's the only feeling he could place at that moment. Pure lust.

With effort, he took the shirt, threw it into the shower, and turned the shower faucet to its loudest. Quickly he threw some soap on it, closed the door of the shower stall and opened the window that came almost to the ceiling to let in some fresh air.

He then sat down on the ground, panting.

Minho...that was Minho's, right?..

He pushed himself upright and jerked toward the sink. After washing his face with ice-cold water for at least three minutes, he finally came back to his senses.

Minho.

When he was sure you couldn't see anything of his werewolf-being, he left the bathroom.

"Minho," he said while opening the kitchen door, "where were you today."

"Out, just as you guys." The older answered while not looking up from the dishes.

"Where," Felix growled.

"Not that it's your business, but I went to the gym." He answered while turning around and resting on the counter with his arms crossed.

Felix slowly stalks over to Minho and grabs him by his collar, he leans in and tries to take in the scent. "You took a shower, didn't you?"

"Yes, I did," Minho answered with a questioning look on his face. What's up with him all of a sudden?

"Why?" Felix asked, still holding the older's shirt and standing just centimetres apart.

"Because I freaking went to the gym, remember? Think I wanna cook being all sweaty?"

"Hmm," Felix's eyes shifted over to Jisung's. Ask him where he's been and with who, but don't make it too obvious. He demanded his beta.

Jisung was bewildered, he didn't know an alpha could communicate like that. Just a look was enough to let him know what his alpha was saying, this man could really talk with his eyes...

Jisung nodded quickly and briefly and watched as his alpha turned and left the kitchen without another word. He left the door open, probably to better follow our conversation.

When Jisung turned back around to continue drying the dishes, he saw Minho still peering at the door opening. "ahem, are you done washing that?" He asked. Minho was startled for a moment and threw Jisung an apologetic smile.

"Yes, everything is washed," he said and was about to leave the kitchen when Jisung tried to strike up a conversation.

"You know, Felix is not normally like this. He's probably still excited and a little scared by this whole college and living alone thing. He's probably just homesick."

"Mhm, I get it," Minho nods, not paying him too much mind.

"So, now that we're alone, why don't you tell me more about yourself? We'll end up spending a lot of time together."

And he continued, "You can start with sports. Have you been doing it for a long time?" He asked.

Minho looked the younger in the eyes, trying to see if there was a reason behind this interrogation.

But Jisung did want to know more about the older, it just happened to come in handy for Felix too.

"Yes, since I was 13 I guess. So 7 years." He answered at last.

"Wait, you're twenty?"

"Yes, and no I didn't stay back. I did an exchange year, that's why I'm a year older." He replied as he took the board from Jisung and put it in its place.

"Wow, that's so cool. Did you make any friends back then?" Jisung really was interested in the older person's life and in his past, so he was glad he now had an excuse to talk about this.

"I kept a friend over from last year, yes. He was also Korean-Australian and now goes to uni here too. Actually, we are kind of in the same friend group now, yes."

"Aw, that's nice. What's his name?"

"Hyunjin, he's the only one out of our friend group who doesn't follow the same major as us, so I see him the least."

"Is he the friend you went to the gym with?"

"No, I went with two others. The three of us have been going for years. In high school people always joked about us being 'gym gurus'," answered Minho, he didn't like the direction this conversation was going.

He found the sudden interest of the other suspicious, "What about you? Any hobbies?"

"Yes, thank you for asking!

I really like composing songs and writing lyrics. I maybe want to become a lyricist or do it as a side job.

And I like watching movies, eating cheesecake, and watching movies while eating cheesecake, and spending time with my friends.

Especially Felix. He's been my best friend since forever.

I think we met each other on a playground when we were three years old or something. We lived only a few houses away from each other and always went to the same school. He's part of almost all my memories, so you can imagine my joy now that we go to the same uni and are roommates too."

"I guess you could say that talking is also one of your favourite pastimes, not true?" Hmmm, I must have imagined it, Minho thought.

"Hey, ehm, Minho?"

"Mhm," the other answers while tilting his eyebrow.

"Did you go to a coffee shop after working out?"

"I...yes we did. How did you know?"

"I...Just a guess..." Felix will love to hear this.

The next second the room went completely silent.

"Er...I guess we're done here? I'm going to our room then."

"O-okay," Minho answered.

Damn, Felix, you'll better explain your behaviour.

"And you say it's hard to keep a secret. please, don't leave me all alone in this hotel. And these shades can hide us from the streets yeah. One weekend, I'll promise I'll never tell. You should probably stay, probably stay a couple more days. Come on, let me change your ticket ho-home. you shou~ HEY WHY'D YOU STOP IT?!"

"Well sung, Lix, but let's talk," Jisung said while tossing Felix's phone on the bed.

"But I was just getting to the good part" Felix whined.

"You were singing the good part, so it's ok."

"But...Zain's slow parttt," nagged Felix.

"You were the one that wanted me to talk to Minho, weren't you?"

That was enough to get Felix's attention. "What did he say?"

"How did you do that?"

"Wha-"

"Like I heard your voice, but your lips weren't even moving."

"Ow...yes, well, I don't know how it works, it just works."

"Ok, such a help like always. I don't know all the details, but he was with two of his friends. I guess they've been friends for a long time 'cause he said going to the gym has kinda been their thing for a couple of years."

"Ok, nice?"

"Well...I...so...ok listen, I was thinking...ok, tell me what happened for you to act like that and then I'll tell what I got to know."

"Okey sure, sounds fair. So I went inside the bathroom, and...felt it."

"Wait, in the bathroom?"

"Yes, so I kinda jumped on the dirty clothes basket and it seemed that one of Minho's shirts was the source. So I threw it under the shower with some soap and opened the shower. On second thought, I hope the grumpy cat won't mind. Anyway, once I calmed down, I came to the kitchen and, well, you were there. Nothing special happened."

"Felix?" Jisung says cautiously.

"Yes?"

"You remember how you went nuts when we were in front of that coffee shop earlier today, right?"

"Mhm, of course, why?" Felix asks.

"Minho and his friends went to that shop."

"Ok. Nice?"

"Don't you think that's suspicious?"

"What are you trying to say?"

"You know what I'm trying to say."

"I get what you're trynna say. Even a newly-shifted wolf as you saw it...pff...and yes, I think you might be right"
