Chapter fifty-seven

In the apartment's garage, they decided to go with two cars, since Changbin needed his car to go home after the ball, and not all of them would fit into his two-seater.

They decide that the couples would go together since it would be weirder if they switched their mate to another car and Felix nor Jisung have their driver's licenses.

Jisung sat in Minho's car while the boy himself was outside. He got a call and said he had to answer it. So now Jisung was just sitting in the car observing the interior of the car.

Jisung isn't a car kind of guy, but you didn't need to be one to know this was a really good, and probably expensive, car.

He sees Minho pacing outside the door while talking to the person on the other side of the line.

Even though Jisung only sees his back, it seems as if he is in some kind of distress. Then the raven-haired boy finally hangs up the phone. He throws his head back and runs his hands through his hair, shakes his head and slaps on his cheeks before turning around and getting into the car.

Jisung got panicked because he didn't want Minho to know he was staring at him, so he just put his hand on the dashboard.

As Minho gets in and puts on his seatbelt, he looks at Jisung's hand and starts laughing.

"What are you doing?"

"Who?" Jisung asks back, "Me? Nothing?"

"Do you like it?"

"Like what?"

"The car, stupid," Minho answers as he flicks Jisung's forehead.

"Oh," Jisung smiles, "Yes, it's beautiful. Why'd we never go riding before?"

"I like taking public transport with you," Minho reasons.

"That doesn't even make sense."

"We can't cuddle and watch the city streets and people when I'm the one driving," Minho explains.

"Respectable," Jisung smiles, "So is it a long ride from here? The ball?"

Minho looks at Jisung with a smirk, "It's pretty far away, love. Enjoy the view."

Jisung puffs and answers with a pout, "You could of told us we'd be in the car for a long time."

"Who said it'd take long?"

Minho turns right, leaving the city streets behind. They get to abounded country roads with almost as many as no cars. The road could be seen until over the horizon. Jisung slacks back into his seat in awe.

"Seems like some slow Audi driver finally caught up to us," Minho says as he fixes the rear-view mirror.

Minho accelerates the car and soon Changbin does the same. Jisung looks in shock at the fast-passing landscape before he turns right to see Minho driving.

The boy had his right hand on the top of the steering wheel and was shifting gears with the left one. Jisung couldn't help but stare at the driving boy in a suit.

Minho sees Jisung watching him in the corner of his eye and smirks, "What are you thinking of, love?"

"Nothing, my throat feels empty."

Minho couldn't take his eyes off the road because of the speed at which he was racing down the road, but Jisung could see the boy swallowing and his grip on the steering wheel and gear lever.

"Fucking tease," he spat out and switched the gears, going even faster. Jisung lies back in his seat proudly, looking at the view and enjoying the thrill he received while driving this fast in Minho's Hellcat Redeye.

Soon they arrived. It was a breathtaking view. Somewhere amidst a vineyard stood a huge mansion surrounded by tons of cars.

Jisung started to feel a strange kind of sensation. He felt weirdly agitated.

Everywhere around him he saw other cars arrive and people getting out of them. Each one was more beautiful than the other.

As Minho opens Jisung's door and extends a hand for him to get out, Jisung hesitates for a second before taking his hand. He sees Felix and Changbin getting out of the car next to them.

After hooking his arm through Minho's, Minho leads them towards Changbin and Felix.

"How are we feeling, Changbin?" Minho asks.

"The same as every time we get here."

Without another word, they start walking inside.

First, past a massive hall where they left their jackets in a cloakroom, and then they get to the entrance of the ballroom, which was opened by a servant who bowed for them.

The ballroom was something Jisung had never experienced before. Its magnitude and the number of people inside.

His grip on Minho's arm tightens. He forgot about the part where the ball would probably have a lot of attendance. Crowded places were really not wanted by Jisung, they scared him. Slowly he felt his breathing become heavier and his pulse fastening.

Minho put his hand on Jisung's arm and smiled soothingly, "Don't worry, I'm here, my love. Time to meet my friends."

As they stepped inside the ballroom Jisung sees a handsome boy jogging toward them. "Hey! You finally arrived," Christopher says as he hugs Changbin and Felix and later Minho and lastly Jisung.

"Did we get here fashionably late or nah?" Changbin asks jokingly.

"Just in time," Christopher laughs.

Jisung was happy that he was the first person to talk to them. Minho had properly introduced him at the campus some time ago. Christopher was like a huge golden retriever boy who was obsessed with working out. He had the sweetest girlfriend ever, the two had an enviable relationship, crazy over each other.

"Oh my gosh," Cyra pants exhaustedly, "I thought we agreed you wouldn't run full-speed anymore? You know I can't keep up with that."

Laughing, Christopher throws his arm over Cyra's shoulder, pulling her close, "I'm sorry, cutie," he whispers as he kisses her temple.

As she sees Jisung she smiles, "Finally, a friend, it's like a madhouse here." Jisung laughs at this.

"Oh, Cyra," Christopher gasps as if he overlooked something critical, "I almost forgot, this is Felix, Changbin's...mate."

Cyra nods, still smiling, "Nice to meet you, Felix! I've heard so much about you, and I know that sounds insincere, but I really did! I hope the ball will be better than I heard you were expecting it to be. This is actually my second time here, you know? I hope it'll be better than last time, but I'm sure it will be!"

She was a really talkative person, one of the reasons Jisung and she could get along so well even if they had only seen each other a couple of times.

"Nice to meet you too," Felix smiled in return, "I too hope so."

As Christopher led them to their table, Jisung felt the atmosphere in the room change.

Firstly, it felt as if everyone who was busy minding their own business in the beginning, were now secretly stealing glances at them. Secondly, he heard a faint rumour behind the door which was above the stairs. Besides the door, the boys came in through, on the other side of the room, at the top of a grandeur staircase, was a large double white door.

Jisung couldn't quite catch what was happening, but something was happening behind that door.

"Felix," he tries.

"I know."
