Chapter 39
The Donovan were having their dinner at the dinning table together, they weren't at the longer dinning table but the shorter one due to their other distant relative who left back to their house after the little visit. The one they sat on were very furnished just as the other, gold with thick antique and twelve seats surrounding the table.
" Sirius what do you think about that " Mrs Aubrey asked her son who was sitting at the tail seat and she next to her husband who was sitting at the head seat.
" what?" Sirius asked as he had lost interest of what they were talking about. " mind reminding me mother " he asked like a good son he want them to see.
" we were talking about Mr Nicklaus offer Diego's father " she said with all her attention on her son waiting for his response her brows were creased to think that his son wasn't listening.
" I don't think i quite agree with what they said there, he wants to take upon the job of touring the town " Sirius said taking his time to sigh before picking up a glass of water to gulp in.
Meanwhile everyone waited for him patiently to speak." I think he has a ulterior motive, he should look out for the place he is assigned to as a magistrate and not meddle with other people affairs" Sirius said not only because of the magistrate poking his nose but because he knew if he does he will find out the number of reduction of people in Groovington who he has killed by sucking out their blood, his parents were still oblivious of it and he wants it to remain that way. He knew the magistrate had his doubt.
Mrs Aubrey softly laughed waving her hand to brush it away not quite catching why his son was against it when it could be in their favour. " What could be the ulterior motive, if he does he will see the great change you have make in Groovington and we will only receive praises". Sylvia hearing her mother supported her.
" Yes brother mother is right everyone have done nothing but shower you with praise you are a good lord." she said before stuffing some moderately amount of food into her mouth.
" of course I am but I have to decline their offer " Sirius said sternly. Katherine who stood behind Mrs Aubrey was even curious why he had rejected when it was his opportunity be on the limelight from other towns and get lot of praises encouragement for his works, as it is said not all grasses are green maybe he has something up there in his sleeve he is hiding, but what could it be he is such a good and considerate gentleman. The lord is perfect handsome and gentleman. she couldn't believe he saved her again from being sacked by hiding her deed of biting the evil man but that was only for defense.
" I think Sirius has his reasons for saying this if he is against it then we should beside he is the lord and knows the best " Mr. Augustus said to his wife before nodding at himself. " I also think he has an ulterior motive behind, why our town of all towns."
They discussed some other things while Sylvia stood there with sore leg. sometimes when the lord will look her way she will think he was going to say something about her standing all through but he will divert his gaze back without a word.
Slowly everyone started retrieving back. Mrs Aubrey stood giving her a quick glance to follow her, that moment Sirius stood to walk away. when he was about to walk pass her he suddenly leaned and whispered to her ear ' Just be ready'. Katherine wondered he said wlthat why she held a puzzled look. remembering she had to be on her way she was quick to reach Mrs Aubrey side. Mrs Aubrey sensing her behind she turned to her and for a moment she taught the woman was going to scold her but she said instead. " go back to your room have something to eat you need dome energy for tomorrow " Aubrey walked away.
