Circle.

The day that something even slightly abnormal doesn't happen, that's the day I won't be in my right mind.

-----------------------------------------------------

After that night, when Aunt May got home, she felt her soul return to her body when she saw her nephew. She kissed his whole face, embarrassing him in front of everyone, while they all laughed softly. Peter promised his aunt that he wouldn't leave like that again. Today, in the morning, the sun's rays entered his room without permission, and he was still lying in his bed, face down with his head turned to one side. The alarm went off, and he quickly turned it off and turned over, lying on his back. He rubbed his eyes and yawned. He let his arms fall to his sides and opened his eyes. He still didn't feel like getting up, but he had to. He had told Aunt May that he was going to the Institute and had also told her about the girl that Stark mentioned with indignation, which made the others laugh. May told Peter that she wanted to meet her someday and thank her for whatever she said to him. But he didn't even know when Freya would come and when he could thank her for the words she said to him the night before.

After sitting on the edge of the bed for several minutes, he stood up and headed to the shower to wash up, brush his teeth, get dressed, and go downstairs for breakfast.

"Good morning," May said when she saw Peter sitting in one of the chairs at the kitchen table.

"Good morning," he said back, taking a bite out of an apple from the basket.

"Your friends will come for you, they'll go in Happy's car."

"What?" he asked, almost spitting out the pieces of apple. "Why? Happy told me he wouldn't take me with Ned and Michelle again, because of what happened last time." It so happened that there was a small incident in Happy's car once, when he took the three of them to the Institute. Ned apparently couldn't hold back what his stomach was demanding to try not to throw up, that happened because of so many sweets... And, well, Happy was more angry than usual about it. "He's called Happy for decoration," he said after a few seconds, May briefly laughed. "I don't want to go with him. He'll throw something at me that he should do with Ned, he's the one who threw up everything he ate." He made a disgusted expression as he remembered how the back of the car got completely dirty. "Total disgust."

"Whatever it was, Peter. Happy will take them at Stark's request," she said. Peter leaned his head back, still not wanting to go to the Institute. "They won't do anything to you today," she said. "Not for a long time."

"Because of what Thor did," Peter added, picking up his backpack from the couch. "He shouldn't have done it."

"But he did," she said, combing his hair back. "What's this?" Her gaze dropped to her nephew's right wrist, and she asked.

Peter looked at his wrist, and his face scrunched up. He had something very similar to a brown bracelet intertwined with each other along with beads that he recognized were white, black, and green diamonds. They shone in the little sunlight. His eyes widened a bit as he saw that on his wrist. He didn't remember buying something like this or having the money for something that looked so fine, detailed, and beautiful. He started to turn it over in his head, and nothing led him to this point. He didn't even know where something like this

Aunt May noticed it.

"It smells like roses, like rose petals," May said as she lifted her wrist to smell it. The scent of roses filled the entire house in less than a minute. "You'll smell like roses all afternoon," she said, unable to suppress a laugh.

Peter rolled his eyes and smelled his own wrist. It smelled more than delicious. He couldn't remember where and how he got something so beautiful on his wrist, and he started to feel a headache from thinking about it too much.

"It smells like roses here," Ned and Michelle said as they entered, greeting Aunt May.

"Freshly born roses," Michelle said, sniffing around to find the source of the scent. "You," she pointed at Peter, "come here." She walked up to him and took his wrist. "Wow!" she exclaimed. "How much did you spend on this thing? Is it worth your position in the Avengers or what?"

Peter rolled his eyes and adjusted his backpack.

"Not even that would be enough for something so flashy," he replied, and Michelle let go of his wrist. "Actually... I don't even know where it came from."

"I can't believe it," Ned said with exaggeration. "Did you steal that bracelet, Peter?"

Peter twisted his eyes again, unable to help laughing a little. Ned and his jokes...

"I didn't steal it. Honestly, even if I stole it, I wouldn't have something like this," he looked at the bracelet.

"It's very beautiful," Michelle said. "So beautiful that it makes me want to vomit," she pretended to vomit and made everyone laugh. "Sooner or later, you'll find out who gave it to you. Now, let's go. Happy, a.k.a. the grump, is waiting for us."

Peter said goodbye to his aunt before leaving the house. The three of them got into the car, with Happy looking at them with little grace. He wasn't happy to be driving them, not after what happened last time. Peter sat by the window, Ned on the other side, and Michelle beside him. He was so focused on looking out the window that when Michelle flicked him on the forehead, it made him jump. She laughed as if there were no tomorrow, and Peter glared at her.

"It's not funny," Peter said, rubbing his forehead. Ned was laughing with her. "You scared me."

"I know," Michelle laughed. "But it was the only way to finally bring you back to earth. I called you all sorts of names, and you didn't respond. And I'm sitting right next to you."

"Well... I didn't hear you," Peter replied. "Sorry. What did you want to ask me?"

"I just wanted to ask how things are going with Maryah," she asked, which was something he didn't expect.

Maryah Colleman Darker was the student vice president of the institute. Her white complexion was smooth, complementing her beautiful, well-maintained brown hair and symmetrical face, which matched her proportional body. Her greenish gaze and arrogant smile were unique and even playful, as if she knew she could get whatever she wanted. She acted like a spoiled rich girl, and everyone wondered how she managed to acquire everything she desired. And now, she was none other than Peter's girlfriend - the girl who had no idea that he was Spiderman, the one who treated him however she pleased and whenever it suited her.

Michelle asked Peter how things were going, specifically regarding how Maryah had been treating him worse than before. Michelle didn't approve of their relationship - it seemed more harmful than anything else.

Peter remained silent, looking at her.

"Your silence says it all. Things are worse now than they were before - worse than ever," Michelle said, and Peter looked away. "You're an idiot," she added, and Peter scowled.

"Hey, don't insult me. I'm the one with her, not you," he replied.

"Thank God for that!" Michelle exclaimed, and Peter's expression soured. "You're an idiot," she repeated, and Ned quietly moved closer to the window, looking at his phone. He knew another argument was about to unfold. "That bleached-blonde is manipulating you, can't you see that?"

"What I notice is that everything Maryah does is wrong in your eyes," he said.

"Because it is!" he yelled, causing Happy to glance at him in the rearview mirror. "You deserve better, Peter."

"What you deserve is to be knocked to the ground, you fool," Happy interjected without taking his eyes off the road. "Mr. Stark met that girl, and let me tell you, even he fears being like her. She's detestable, selfish, and terrible," he said, his face conveying every word. "That girl doesn't care about you."

"That's my problem," Peter retorted defensively, and Happy's eyes widened slightly in surprise. "Don't talk about her anymore."

"I swear on every strange thing I've seen that that idiot would never give her life for you if it was necessary," he said matter-of-factly.

"Why the hell don't you just shut up already?" he muttered.

"Why the hell don't you realize that she doesn't care?" he replied in the same tone, looking at each other. "I never thought I'd say this, but I hope she's in danger on one of your stupid missions, and guess what?" he asked. "No one saves her," he said, leaning in closer to Peter's face.

Peter was taken aback, not expecting such words from Michelle, or perhaps he did. Ned looked surprised, and Happy, well, he seemed to be on Michelle's side. Peter closed his mouth and hardened his expression. He was about to speak when Happy's sudden braking interrupted him, propelling them forward. Happy adjusted his glasses and looked ahead. The cause of his abrupt stop was the several cars piled up in front of him, rising in the air. They all stared at the sight, unable to believe what was happening.

The terrified screams of the other drivers could be heard. Peter leaned out the window, looking toward one side of the bridge. Beyond it, there was a large black and reddish circle that appeared to be the cause of the floating cars. He squinted, seeing that this circle could not be from this side, not from this planet.

"Where are you going?" Happy asked as Peter got out of the car.

"Do you see that?" he asked, pointing at the circle. "That's what's causing the cars..." His voice trailed off when he saw Stark and Thor near the floating artifact. "I have to go see," he said after a few minutes. As soon as he stepped out, Happy grabbed his arm tightly.

"Stark just asked me not to let you go," he said, and Peter scoffed.

"But..." he was about to protest when a loud piercing sound disturbed everyone's ears on the bridge. They fell to their knees, covering their ears, the noise unbearable. Peter looked up and saw the circle descending, heading toward the floating cars and frightened people.

That circle...it's going to come down on everyone...
