CHAPTER 13: Back home.

Sirin couldn't help but curse under his breath. Not only did he get send back to hell, but he also had no way of receiving the rest of those souls. He didn't even get the chance to find something for Amanda.

With a low grumble he stood up from the altar. His entire body was still shaking after being forcefully transported.

Once he got outside the temple, he suddenly felt a lot better. Yea the sky was prettier in the human world, but this was home.

As fast as he could he ruched back to the dead forest. The branches of the tree like people trapped here didn't feel as closing in or trapping as before, but rather welcome. Tough he hated to admit it, he missed this place.

Soon he saw the small mountain with the cave were Amanda stood. She had closed her eyes and had probably fallen asleep to the murmurs of the forest.

She slowly opened her eyes as she heard footsteps closing in. "Sirin? Is that you?"

Due to the ever-present cold mist of the forest, she could only make out a silhouette. This demon approaching was at least twice as large as the one she had come to know over the past two weeks. However, from what she could tell the appearance matched. The blue slightly glowing eyes were fixed on her as it slowly approached.

Suddenly the demon ruched towards her. She could barely move as she was trapped here and the fiend moved so quick that even if she could do something, she would have never had the chance.

But as she thought that her final moments had come the demon embraced her. Yes, this was her Sirin.

"Damn it I missed it here." He spoke. His voice still rough and dry from being send back to hell. "Wait, are you crying?"

"No!" Amanda scoffed.

Sirin let go and took a few steps back.

"Oh, sorry." Sirin said as he watched a single tear dip down Amanda's face. "I'm not that good with human emotions yet."

"Then your trip to that world was quite useless, wasn't it?" Amanda said in a joking manner.

Sirin nervously scratched the back of his neck. "No, not really. tough things didn't go as planned."

"Oh? But you already look a fair bit stronger, and you are a lot better at talking. What is it then that didn't go the way you wanted?"

"Well apart from almost getting killed and being send back here earlier than I planned. I guess it wasn't so bad after all. There really are stars in the sky! And they are just as beautiful as you said!"

"Of course, they are! Do you mean that you ever doubted me?"

Sirin shrugged. "Maybe a little."

Like that Sirin told her all about what he had seen in the living world. From the little flames in the houses to the large Naga in the lake. Amanda listened to his story with full attention. He even showed her his new transformation.

Once he was done, Sirin went straight to sleep. He didn't really know what forces were used to bring him back, but it took a toll on his own magic and overall energy.

Sirin slowly woke up. He could tell from the light that shone into the cave that at least a day had passed.

With his tail lazily dragging over the ground he walked out of the cave.

"Moring sleepy head! The last time I saw you sleep this long was when we just met."

"Morning Amanda." He said whilst rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. "I will be off looking for something to eat. It won't take long."

"Alright then. Just make sure you don't get eaten by the harpies or something."

Sirin just chuckled. "Yea I also wouldn't like to get eaten by those overgrown birds that for some reason only live here. however, I can't promise anything."

He did see some harpies as he walked trough the forest. Tough he wasn't sure if he was fully grown yet, he was too large for the harpies to see him as prey. They mainly followed him from a distance.

By now he had realised that most demons would never know their parents. But he sure wanted to see one of them, just to know how he was going to turn out later. Or just another demon of his bloodline.

At first glance it wouldn't be that hard to find another bone white demon. But if there were, most wouldn't have lived that long since they were easy to kill as hatchlings. As for his parents, they were probably taking care of another nest, or they were in one of the human worlds. All in all, he probably wouldn't be able to find them any time soon.

With nothing he would be able to do about this, he just set the problem aside and wandered the wasteland in search of something quick and easy to kill.

It was then that he noticed that there weren't that many hatchlings around. Most of them would have grown up or been eaten by now.

However, he was able to find a few humans wandering around. After he had killed and eaten them, he went on his way back.

Only a particular figure caught his attention. It kind of looked like the sibling he had killed when he just hatched. It was at least partially a flame demon

He grinned from ear to ear as he realised that it was wounded.
