Scene - Facing reality

"Zho! Come on you have to come and join me." Her friend keeps begging Zhonya.

"For the last time Lee, I need to work. I can't go." Zhonya replied as she was trying to clean up the tables.

"Come on, Even if your favorite animator is there?" Lee said trying to change her mind.

Zhonya looked at her friend debating if she would let Lee win, "Domics?" She asked.

"Yes! He will be there. Considering they go there." Lee said with a obvious-they-are tone.

"Fine! Only to support my best friend." She said when Lee squeal and hugged her. "Lee the apron. The manager here hates happiness." She continued and they parted.

"Oh right, see you tomorrow six?" Lee asked about to go.

"Yeah, I'll ask a day off." She replied when Lee silently squeal and rushed off.

A few moments of work and it was her break time, in break time she always drew and record it. She really don't know why she does it but she did and post it in the Internet. For she cannot handle it to be deleted or gone forever. She record the journey her pencils goes.

She sat on an empty table with some sandwiches and a cup of water. She begun to draw comics, for she was feeling a little inspired by her friend. On her story of the comic, a woman had a friend who goes to this wonderful academy for the talented. The woman wishes she has the talent for it but a bad entity was stopping her from doing so. Making her work for everything in her life. The woman in her story was the best painter, she painted things her heart screams. Yet, the thing that was keeping her away from her dreams disapproves of her work and destroys it. She was in a middle of finishing the last part of her chapter when one of her co-workers went to her.

"Hey, Zho. Can you cover for me my throat is soar. It's just this once please?" She said pleading. She smiled and nodded.

"Sure." She said because looking around none of them was even paying attention to the screams outside. They are all focused on their gadgets.

She went to the stage and she was right no one is paying any attention to anyone. When she started singing.

"I've been awake for a while now

I just, mmm" By this time she was feeling it in her bones that she missed being creative than practical.

'Cause you make me smile, even just for a while" When she was done no one was still noticing it, she was glad too. She hates attentions. When she went back to what she was doing and a note was on the table.

'Keep it up. It's beautiful.' She was confuse what the letter said, she don't even know if it's her singing or her comic. 

When her shift was over she quickly called Lee, and told her what happened. Apparently Lee was done rehearsing her big production.

"So any name?" Lee asked trying to change into more clean cloths.

"No, just a note saying 'Keep it up. It's beautiful.' I don't know if they're talking about me singing or me drawing." Zhonya said walking towards her apartment.

"Or maybe both? Zho, you have all the talent why don't you apply at Performing arts." Lee suggest and about to leave the school.

"And what? Show the whole world my ass? Nah, I'm still searching for it." Zhonya joked for she has a flat butt. That's her opinion.

"Still fighting that enemy huh?" Lee said leaning on her locker.

"It's not my fault. No one let's me do creative things before you came. Now I'm a perfectionist." Zhonya admitted to Lee and herself.

"Well, You admitted it. Maybe you should go to the second step." Lee was now walking toward her car.

"What? Showing some of the people my butt?" Zhonya stopped and looked in front of her like she was looking at Lee with a 'Really?' Look.

"Yes! Plus I've shown more than just my butt." Lee said chuckling.

"Hey, Unlike you I cannot wear a batingsuit without people yelling 'Oh! A whale has washed to shore.' Bluh." Zhonya mimic the people's voice in a dumb way.

"You know that's all in your head right? No one did that." Lee went inside her car and put it on loud speaker.

"You are driving talk to you when you pick me tomorrow." Zhonya looked down and waited for her to reply.

"Okay, see you tomorrow Pumkin." Lee then started the car.

"Bye Chocolate chip." Zhonya replied and they both hanged up. As she was walking towards the bus stop she saw an art store with discounted items. She quickly went in and check everything out. She wanted to go in but she saw the people who goes to PAA and decided to just walk away. Sketchbook in hand and a mechanical pencil on the other inside a pocket.

She was walking when she saw two couples dancing inside their apartment and they are having the time of their lives. She walked away smiling and sat on the bus. Zhonya took out her phone and types her Novel.

'As she and her long life partner, dance under the ray of the moon light. She though, 'How perfect for him to have feelings for a creature like me.' As she was staring into his deep crystal blue eyes, she knew he was the chosen one. She rested her head on his chest, listening to his heart racing. Then slowing, as if it knew she was listening. His heart beat kept on beating, and beating, and beating. When a loud high pitch sound woke her up. The line on the EMP went straight she knew she was loosing him.

"Doctor!" She yelled.

As Nurses, Doctors, and Staff went in and dragged her out of the room as she saw how they were trying to revive him. That's the last...' She was cut off when a guy sat next to her. She ignored and continued to go on with the story.

When her stop came she saved her work and hopped off the bus. Her apartment was not as luxurious as Lee has. Only because, she deserves to be in PAA. Not only talent can put you in, if you are rich and has connection you are in.

"Hey, Lauren! Didn't see you there." She said when a giant woman was standing in front of her.

"You are due." Lauren said and putting a hand to take this month's rent.

"Can, I have more time? I just payed last month's rent. So..." Zhonya was trying her best to delay yet it was not working. She then gave in and gave half of the rent.

"This is not enough." Lauren said not closing her hand.

"This is all I can gather for now, tomorrow my paycheck will arrive until then I'm broke as that mirror." Zhonya said pointing at a window.

"Okay, but next month it would need the half." She insist and Zhonya smiled then coughing.

"Ehem, Yeah, Next month. You got that." Lauren then walks away.

She looked around the place and it was a dump, she decided to clean her apartment again. For her boyfriend left the apartment all disgusting and filthy. "Oh, Jerry. Come on work with me here." Zhonya said and going to bed. Jerry was next to her and trying to touch her.

"No, I said no. We are waiting till marriage." She said moving away.

"Not even a make out?" Jerry said and moving away too. She was too exhausted to even do something. She then falls asleep.

She was awaken by her phone ringing, she shot up and look what time is it. It was exactly six, as her phone rang a knock was heard on the door. "Come in! I'll be out in a minute!" Zhonya yelled and rushing towards the bathroom.

"Zho! Come on! It's about to start!" Lee yelled and knocking on the bathroom door.

"Lee." Jerry slowly woke up with his friend up too. Lee chuckle. He wasn't paying attention. Lee looked back at the door and knock.

"I'll wait outside." Lee suggested because she was disgusted by her best friend's boyfriend. Who happens to be a jack ass.

"Where are you going?" Jerry asked walking inside the bathroom.

"Jerry! Knock before you enter." Zhonya said.

"Oh, Come on. We basically like a married couple." He said peeing.

"Fine. I am going to see Lee's big production. She worked hard on this." Zhonya was now done and walked out rushing to get dress and keeping up with her friend.

"I wanna come. I want to support my Girl's best friend." he said hugging her and kissing. She kissed back.

"Okay, get dressed. It's a pretty fancy." Zhonya said chuckling.

"I can be fancy you'll see." Jerry said and changing his cloths.

As they got to the place, Zhonya was wearing her normal all black cloths. A loose blouse and white tank inside, black jeans and gladiator flats.

"Here we are, Performing arts Academy." She said when they sat and waited for the play. The couple talked.

"This is one big theater." Jerry said amazed.

"I know right? I wish my stories, novels or even shorts would be played there. On that very stage." She said.

"Come on, only talented people can do that." He said. "Us we need to stay practical. Plus we aren't rich to cover this per semester." Jerry said as Zhonya looked down.

"Yeah, Maybe you're right." Zhonya said.

When a woman rushed towards her, a woman with full bangs, two long red stripes on the side and super short hair. "Excuse me are you Zhonya?" She asked.

"Yes? Why?" Zhonya asked.

"Please come with me." She replied and Zhonya followed. "What's going on?" She continued because she saw her best friend practically panicking.

"The actress that was supposed to be my co-star left. Her understudy is nowhere to be found. What am I going to do?" Lee was panicking when Zhonya breathe in and breathe out.

"Fine. I'll do it." Zhonya was determined. She remembered the song in the cafe, when she started singing just like the people there she didn't care. Plus it's time to face her fears and try to save her best friend.
