Opening my eyes, I found myself standing in front of a glowing blue gate—a solo-leveling style portal surrounded by dense forest as far as the eye could see. Suddenly, a voice spoke.
Lusis: "Hi, Ajamu. Congratulations! You did very well on your first day—it only confirms that I made the right choice."
Ajamu: "Thanks. It was fun exploring a new culture and wielding this power. Now, am I supposed to clear this gate?"
Lusis: "As you can see, this gate leads to my sealed space, which currently houses scout troops from an invading world. On the other side, they're performing a ritual to open a pathway between worlds. Your mission is simple: Eliminate them before the ritual completes. I'll personally supervise your first few missions since I take my work seriously, and an entire world depends on it. Deal with this quickly, or I'll intervene. Go now!"
I nodded, drew my blades, and stepped through the gate.
On the other side, the landscape stretched out before me—an expansive plain of lush green land, bordered by forests. In the center of the field lay a massive magical circle, tended to by warlocks who appeared humanoid but possessed red skin and towering heights of over ten feet. They were accompanied by an imposing army clad in enchanted weapons, their appearance reminiscent of orcs but far more menacing and intelligent. Their numbers? Approximately six thousand—this was just a scouting unit.
All these observations raced through my mind as I examined the situation using a far-seeing scroll purchased from the shop.
Ajamu (thinking): I need to deal with this swiftly. A land-based approach isn't favorable here; this is open terrain, and if they focus on defense, those shamans look close to completing their ritual. If they counterattack, I risk being surrounded from all sides. That leaves aerial or underground tactics.
Retreating further into the forest to remain unseen, I summoned my shadows and issued orders.
"To all earth ninjas: The enemy has secured the surface, but the skies and underground remain vulnerable. Create a tunnel beneath the army and transport all shadows through it. Once I signal, collapse the ground under the troops' feet, leaving them exposed for elimination. Yamato, you're in command."
Turning to Gaku and Miko, I added, "Miko and Gaku, you'll accompany me. We're taking to the skies. Everyone else, proceed."
The earth-natured ninjas formed a line in front of the remaining 1,898 shadows, performed hand seals, and opened a tunnel entrance in the ground. My shadows disappeared inside, advancing toward the enemy's position below.
While waiting for confirmation, I prepared alongside Gaku and Miko. After fifteen minutes, Yamato reported readiness via mental communication.
"Alright, you two," I said. "Activate your Susanoo. Our priority is the magic ritual. Attack the circle and destroy it. Got it?" Both nodded, and we activated our respective Susanoo forms. To my surprise, mine manifested not as Shisui's green Susanoo but as a deep-blue one wielding twin blades.
With no time to examine it thoroughly, I spread my wings and took flight toward the magical circle, followed closely by Gaku and Miko. The enemy spotted us immediately and ordered their archers and mages to fire.
Ducking and weaving, I instructed my shadows to mirror my evasive maneuvers. While confident in Susanoo's defenses, unnecessary risks weren't part of my strategy. As we closed in, the opposing mages unleashed spells that tracked us relentlessly. With swift sword swings, I deflected some attacks while keeping altitude high enough to render archer arrows ineffective.
Once within range, I sent a mental command to my underground forces to unleash their strongest attacks against the ritualists and signaled the collapse of the ground beneath the enemy army. Simultaneously, Gaku and Miko launched their signature techniques.
Gaku: "Fire Release: Ancient Dragon Flames!" Combining Amaterasu flames with standard fire jutsu, he summoned a colossal dragon-shaped inferno.
Miko: "Lightning Release: Lightning Storm!" Dark clouds enveloped the sky, raining down devastating bolts of lightning upon the barriers and soldiers below.
Their attacks collided with a defensive barrier erected by the enemy. Though the shield held initially, visible cracks began to form. Meanwhile, the Amaterasu flames ate away at its integrity, preventing repairs.
Climbing higher into the air, I charged my Susanoo with lightning energy coursing through both its body and blades. Deciding to break the sound barrier for maximum impact, I aimed straight for the center of the magical circle.
Ajamu: "Titan's Wrath!" My dual swords shattered the weakened barrier, striking the ground beneath the ritualists and unleashing shockwaves that rippled outward. An earthquake ensued, obliterating every warlock and burying the underground troops beneath tons of rock and earth.
When the dust settled, the once-verdant plain lay shattered beyond recognition. Surveying the devastation, I muttered, "This might have been... excessive."
Lusis: "YOU THINK?" came the exasperated reply. Then, after a sigh, he continued, "It's alright. This space exists specifically for dealing with invaders without affecting the main world. You accomplished your task efficiently. Handle any survivors if there are any, then say 'Job Finished' when ready to return to Naruto."
"Okay, thanks," I responded.
Scanning the area, I confirmed no survivors remained. Satisfied, I declared, "Job Finished," and was promptly teleported back to my previous location.
