6 Heart to Heart

"What was the black light that came out of my hand? " Mokami asked himself as he gazed at the ceiling from where he was lying.

"I know my Quirk allows me to create anything by turning fat into the matter so long as I know the atomic formula. Momo's Quirk in the anime allowed her to create anything non-living, but my Quirk is a bit more advanced than hers. But it still doesn't explain how I did what I did. I basically changed a person's thoughts. In a sense, I restructured his thoughts and personality, which is not far from Kaa-chan's ability, but it is also a bit far-fetched.

Mokami thought to himself as he tried to make sense of what had just happened. He had never seen a Quirk used in such a way before, and he was still trying to wrap his head around it. He was sure that if he could understand how he did it, then he could use it again, and perhaps even control it better. He closed his eyes and tried to remember the sensation he felt when he used his Quirk. He remembered the warmth that spread throughout his body and the feeling of energy coursing through him. He also remembered the sensation of power, as if he was in control of something that was beyond his comprehension.

Anger, hatred, helplessness... At the time, when he saw how his father was admitting his wrongdoings without caring about him and acting like a bastard without any guilt, he felt something deep within him boil in rage. He knew these feelings came from the past self that he couldn't remember anymore, he knew he hated his father for those feelings and acted out without thinking through, and in the end, he did something amazing. Something he thought would be impossible. He reshaped a person's thoughts and decreed him to act by his orders. It was almost like hypnotism, with the person under hypnosis prompted to do as the hypnotist said. He was sure that something like that was possible, and this was the very first time he'd used his Quirk in such a way.

Mokami used to think of his Quirk as a destructive force, but now that he thought about it, the potential it had was very versatile. He could use it to heal and to create anything he wanted. He wasn't limited to creating mundane things to battle with them. He could change the reality of his enemies to do his bidding!

He wanted to become a Hero, he truly did. After all, what better occupation was there in this cursed world? He could either settle down for a mediocre life, although admittedly a very rich one, or he could take control of his fate and become one of those that stood at the top of the world. A hero that could instill fear in bad people. Just his name would deter any person with evil ideas. He would like that. Maybe if he didn't know the darkness of this world, he would settle down to live in richness, but seeing his bastard of a father and other rich people acting wantonly without any remorse, he decided to set on the path of a hero and fight rich with rich and power with power.

"If I, one of the richest men on Earth, become one of the strongest heroes, who can stop me? " He clenched his fist.

He was sure that the only way to reach that goal, however, was to know everything there was to know about his Quirk. The potential of it was very enticing and he wanted to know why that was so. He still couldn't figure out why his power was different from Momo's, but he still had time to figure it out.

Mokami rose from his bed and stretched out his stiff body. Since this was the first time in his life that he accomplished something that made even feelings inside of him proud, he felt as if he had a new lease on life. A new beginning. He let out a small smile and walked over to the bathroom that was connected to his room.

After his long shower, Mokami came back to his room wearing a fresh set of clothes. He looked at the clock by his bed and saw that it was just past eight o'clock in the morning. He was feeling lazy but with his newfound hopes, he shook it off.

He walked out of his room and went to the kitchen. He grabbed a glass of water and gulped it down in one go. Then he looked at his father's study. He wanted to go and check out every nook and cranny, but he knew it was futile. The bastard wouldn't live behind any evidence in the mansion.

"I should start training. With Momo if possible. From what I remember, she was quite weak and insecure in the series. I have to instill self-confidence in her and make her a good heroine that can stand by my side. She is smart and brave, and I will make sure she squeezes every drop of her potential and becomes the best version of herself by the time we join Yuuei High! " Mokami muttered to himself as he walked towards his mother's room. Mika was probably inside, so he would ask her to hire private tutors for Momo and him.

Mokami entered his mother's room and saw her sleeping on one of the couches. She was probably tired because she was worried sick about him. He was asleep for two weeks after all, and that must have placed the burden on his mother. Mokami felt guilt and warmness in his heart. He knew Mika loved him very much, and luckily the feelings were mutual. He really, really loved his mother and sister.

"It's great to have both of them in my life. " Mokami thought to himself.

Mokami walked up to his mother and tapped her shoulder. He shook her lightly, and she woke up blinded by the sudden light. She was still half-asleep, Mokami whispered as he gently grabbed Mika by her shoulders and shook her. "Kaa-chan, you will hurt your neck if you sleep on this small couch.

"Ha?! Wha-?! Mokami! You're awake! Oh thank goodness, I was so worried! You were sleeping for so long. I thought you would never wake up... " Mika mumbled as she opened her eyes to see her son smiling at her. "Ah right, I saw you awake a few hours ago. Hehe, I am a little bit drowsy.

"Where is Momo? " Mokami asked as he looked around the room. His mother told him that Momo had been sleeping with her ever since that night. Something must have scared her terribly for her to act like that.

"Oh, she went to Nejire-chan's place already. She's been going there every day lately, but never a day has she failed to visit you. She too was worried sick about you and would sneak into your bed every night. You have that sister of yours who beat you in the "dedication" department, there's no doubt about that. " Mika chuckled and stroked her son's head.

She then got up and walked towards the door. "Let's get you some breakfast, hm? I had the servants cook some eggs and bacon this morning. You should eat some. For the last two weeks, you only drank soup and vegetable shakes. You need some protein. Look how skinny you got. You need fat for your Quirk.

"Aren't you hungry? You haven't eaten anything right?" Mokami asked as he followed his mother.

"I ate something in the morning," Mika replied as she made her way to the kitchen. "I am just worried about you. You wouldn't wake up for anything. You were so close to a coma... I am glad you're fine."

"Thank you, Kaa-chan. I am glad I'm fine too. " Mokami replied with a small smile.

"Here," Mika grabbed a plate, scooped some eggs and bacon on it, and placed it on the kitchen counter. She then filled a glass with bottled water and placed it right next to the plate. "Eat slowly, you haven't swallowed solid food for a long time.

"Mmm," Mokami took a bite out of the eggs, chewed, and swallowed it. "It's good, thank you."

"Don't thank me, thank the cook. They've been cooking for you. " Mika chuckled.

"I will thank them later. " Mokami smiled. "You want to know what happened that night?

"Of course I do. You were in a coma for two weeks, and I had no idea what happened to you." Mika said as she sat down beside her son. She was still in her pajamas, and her dark hair was a mess. She looked as if she wasn't getting enough sleep.

Mokami continued eating his food, and then he said, "I don't remember a lot."

"Well, that's good. You don't have to remember everything. You just need to make sure it doesn't happen again. " Mika told her son.

"One thing I need to say though is that I am proud of you."

"Why? " Mokami was surprised to hear that.

"Why? I don't know what happened, but ever since that night, your father had never bothered me again. He even instructed the head butler to tell me I was free to do whatever I wanted. And from what I could see, you argued with him, so I can only guess it is all thanks to you. So, thank you Moka-chan and I am proud of you. " Mika smiled brightly as she kissed his forehead.

Mokami felt warm inside. He wasn't used to that, but this new feeling was quite addicting, to say the least. He wanted to feel this again. He wanted to make his mother proud of him. He wanted to become a strong hero and protect his family and friends.

Mika smiled warmly at her son and told him, "Eat slowly. We'll talk more afterward.

Mokami nodded and continued eating his food in slow mouthfuls. He had a lot of things to think about.

"But I want you to tell me what you remember. I am your mother, I want to know if anything bad happened. I was so scared when they told me you were in a coma. I thought the worst. That you wouldn't wake up, or you would die... " Mika began to tear up. Tears started to stream down her cheeks, but she didn't bother wiping them away. "I am so glad you're fine."

"I am fine, don't cry," Mokami said in a comforting tone. "I am fine, I promise. So please don't cry. I don't like it when you cry."

"What? Why? " Mika wiped her tears away and looked surprised.

"I don't know, I just don't like it when you cry. It makes me sad. I want to comfort you, and make you feel better. " Mokami said as he placed his hand on his mother's head and stroked it. "I want you to know that I am here for you, I will always be here for you. I want you to feel safe."

"Y-You do? " Mika was stunned and confused. She never thought her son was capable of saying things like that. It made her heart pang in guilt. He was still four years old but he had to grow up to protect her. Although he looked adorable when he was serious and when he reached to pat her head, she could see that he was burdened with all these emotions no four-year-old should have.

"Yes, but I am still young. I need to work hard to get stronger, so I can always protect you and Momo-chan! " Mokami answered with an assured tone.

"You will! " Mika said as she wiped off her tears. She took a deep breath to calm down. "So, what happened?

"When I heard how that ba— he talked to you, and how he was acting as if you and Momo-chan was just beautiful figurehead, I felt anger boiling inside of me, so I confronted him. He didn't like it and thought I was disrespectful and wanted to beat me up, but Momo's cries calmed both of us down. I, unintentionally, created something, I think to protect Momo, then it was all black. I guess, when he saw my out-lash, he realized his mistakes and left. " Mokami told a plausible story. He couldn't tell anyone what he did. He could never admit what his powers caused. It was better for everyone if no one ever knew.

Mika looked at her son and saw his eyes filled with determination and warm intentions. She believed every word he said. She was sure Mokami would protect his sister and never let anything bad happen to her ever.
