Erland saw Anita's photo. He took that photo.
"You here? Are you tired?" asked Briel, who had just entered the bedroom and made Erland look at Briel.
"This is your late biological mother?" Erland asked while showing Briel the photo.
"Yes," answered Briel.
"She's beautiful, just like you," said Erland.
Briel's heart skipped a beat.
'He's praising me?' Briel thought.
Erland put Anita's photo frame in its original place. He sat on the edge of the bed.
"Did you just realize that I am beautiful?" said Briel proudly.
"Tsk! Your friend is still prettier," said Erland.
"Hey!" Briel shrieked. She grew closer to Erland.
"Why? I'm just telling the truth," said Erland.
"But, can you don't talk like that in front of me?" Briel growled as she grabbed Erland's shirt collar.
"So, are you mad? You don't like me complimenting other women?" Erland asked.
