The game has begun(chapter 4 1)

Lucas lied on the hospital bed deep in thoughts,he had had hard time trying to convince Jennie to go back home,now that he had been left alone he couldn't stop thinking about the events that took place,he felt guilty because he knew the reason for the attempted assasin was because of him,he knew he was being selfish but he was just a human and humans are bound to be selfish sometimes,he had tricked her to sign their marriage contract but now he finally understood the danger he was putting Jennie into.He had a dark side,his world was different from her's,he had strong and powerful enemies,before none knew about his weakness but he realised Jennie was becoming his weakness,if his enemies knew about his weakness they would use it aganist him,he knew Jennie was trustworthy and can never be used by his enemies to hurt him but he didn't know what to do if she got hurt,he was there to protect her for their first attempt but he didn't know if he was capable of always protecting her especially if she knew nothing about his dark life,no matter how powerful he was he knew life was uncertain,now he was in a dilemma to let her go for her safety or tell her about his dark life which had the same outcome,she was going to leave him.

In the entire country no one had ever dared to attack him or his people and he doubted Jennie's whereabouts were known,there was one person who would try to hurt Jennie and it meant they already know she was his wife,he respected that person since they were once close and if it was something else he might have let it slide but their mistake was trying to assssinate his wife in his grandfather's mansion,he could never let that slide he was going to show them who the real boss is and use it as a warning for those who would dare to hurt his people.There was a knock on the door and Chris walked in "how are you doing?" he asked taking a seat "good why didn't you come to see me earlier?" he asked seating on the bed,"you're married,I had to let your wife see you first,ever since you got to the hospital she had been crying,she is hard to comfort but I can see she cares for you" Chris replied,Lucas smiled "I know" he said."Lucas do you love her?",Lucas looked at him surprised and cleared his throat "why do you ask?" "just answer my question" Chris said,"I love her" he replied with sincerity,Chris sighed "I guessed it right that's explain why you took the bullet for her without hesitating,but Lucas this love is dangerous especially for her you understand what I mean" Chris said."I know,I'm thinking after getting my inheritance I should divorce her,that is better because if she get hurt because of me I wont be able to forgive myself" he said,Chris looked at his friend "what about you?" he asked "what?" "you love her are you just going to let her go?after you broke up with your ex girlfriend you had hard time moving on,I know how much you love her,ever since you got married you changed and all of us could tell she was the reason are you ready to let go of your happiness?" he asked,Lucas sighed "as long as she is safe I'll deal with everything" he replied not sure if it was possible to deal with everything "why don't you just tell her about your dark life,she might accept you" "she won't because she hasn't fallen in love with me" he replied sadly,he gulped feeling bitterness,I have truly overestimated myself she still hasn't fallen in love with me he thought.Seeing his friend feeling sad he stood up and sat next to him on the bed "you can't be sure unless you try,the way I saw how she was worried she even refused to go home and change her clothes which were soaked with your blood,I think she likes you although I'm not sure she has noticed it" he said,Lucas smiled "trying to comfort me?how are you sure she likes me its normal for her to worry about me because I protected her" he said not daring to raise his hopes high.

"Lucas I'm sure because I too like someone and trust me she behaved exactly how I behave when I see that person hurt" he said, Lucas was suprised by his friends confession "you like someone how come I don't know about it?" he asked curiously "forget about me,what I'm saying is having someone to care and love you back is a great thing, the person I like doesn't like me back so don't waste your chances you may regret it later" he advised.Lucas smiled "thank you,now tell me did you find anything?" he asked his face turning cold and serious,it was time for business his entire demenour changed from being a friend to a boss ,"not yet but I think Daniel is planning something" he replied his face showing displeasure,he had hidden his wounds by wearing a glove so that Lucas couldn't tell he was wounded,"what's wrong did something happen between you and him?" he asked furrowing his eyebrows "we fought" come a quick reply.Lucas was shocked,the three of the were like brothers they hardly fought it was a shock to know the two fought,"is it because of me?" he asked unpleased and Chris nodded his head,"since when did you become so impulsive, don't you ever dare do that again you two better be on good terms before I get discharged" he warned,what he hated was fighting among his men but he hated it more when his friends fought when they had disagreement he used his identity as their boss to get them make up beacuse he knew they wouldn't disobey him.Chris nodded his head,he too regreted getting into a fight with his friend his anger had consumed him but now that he had calmed down he realised the fight was unnecessary,"Lucas do you have anyone in mind who would try to assasinate her?" Chris asked,"yeah and I know Daniel has already figured it out,I hope my wife is well guarded?" he asked "some of our men are guarding the hospital and most of them are guarding your villa" he replied "that's good,make sure she is well protected but they shouldn't expose themselves don't alarm her or make her feel uncomfortable" "yes sir,so what your next plan" he asked "staying at the hospital to recover of course" he joked "you know what I mean what are your orders?" he asked ignoring Lucas' silly joke "just continue running the company once I get discharged I'll take over,Daniel should handle the other business,you better all be careful I won't tolerate mistakes" he said, "what about the attack?" "about that let them live with fear for some days I'll deal with them,tell Daniel to keep the boys training everyday because there is going to be a war" he said his eyes turning ruthless suprising Chris,Lucas could change his attitude in a second no one was able to predict him,he knew Lucas since they were young it was hard Lucas to declare war against other organisations because he too will suffer some losses but he understood him, something was clear to him Jennie was Important to him than they could have imagined.

At country X,Alice was walking heading to Vixen club,she looked haggard and miserable,she was a regular and didn't pass through the security check,she directly headed to the VIP lounge but bumped into someone "I'm sorry miss are you okay?" asked the man,he was handsome and tall one look and one would be able to tell he had a unique charm,Alice looked at the man angrily "watch where you're going" she said "I'm sorry I was careless,you don't seem to be fine how about I buy you a drink as an apology" the man said "I don't need it" she said."Please miss beautiful I just want to know you,please don't reject my good intentions" he said "okay then,I need the most expensive whiskey in the club can you afford it?" she asked arrogantly, let's see if you can afford it,she thought a smirk on her face "miss beautiful you're underestimating me I can afford it" he said after noticing the smirk on her face "fine then" she said and both walked heading to the VIP lounge.Both sat at the VIP lounge,the man ordered the most expensive whiskey in the entire club,he poured her a glass of the whiskey "so miss may I know your name?" asked the man "I'm Alice" she replied gulping the entire whiskey "take it easy,what's wrong you seem to be depressed" the man asked acting concerned,Alice laughed tears in her eyes like someone who has lost her mind shocking the man "men are scum" she said wiping her tears "why would you say that? did you break up with your boyfriend" he asked,he could guess by her behaviour,Alice poured herself whiskey she gulped all of it "yeah,that stupid man after everything have done for him he just broke up with me,do you know what he told me 'I'm sorry but I no longer love you,if only you had helped me achive my goal maybe I would still love you but I appreciate our time together you will always be special to me' how dare he? after everything I even become a bully because of him I turned into a monster for him but what did I get in return?" she said wiping her tears.Everything she did was to please Jacob,she was deeply and madly in love with Jacob since highschool,they had met at a birthday and it was love at first sight for her,she even become friends with Jennie after knowing she was his little sister,when Jacob aprroached he already knew about her crush for him he took advantage of it and asked her and her friends to bully Jennie,wanting to please her crush she accepted and together with her friends they made Jennie suffer because Jacob had promised they would date after she graduated from highschool,because Jacob still didn't become the CEO of Louis construction company he didn't see the need to keep her around, he had another target who was going to help him achieve his goal."Why did you become a bully?who did you bully?" asked the man prying for more information "his sister" she replied,she was already drunk and kept on explaining how her and her friends bullied and humiliated Jennie,the man listening to her smirked "if he hates her sister why don't you kill her for him,he might get back together with you," he said an evil grin appearing on his face,"I can't that's illegal what if I end up in jail" "miss I think our meeting was fated,I know an organisation that can help you eliminate her then you can have your man remember in this world you have to fight for your love even if it means playing dirty" he said,"but she left the country" she said "don't worry they can trace her as long as you pay them they will do a clean job leaving no traces no one will suspect you" the man said sounding convincing.

"I can take you there,the earlier the better" he said,Alice who was already drunk nodded her head and together with the man they walked out.The man drove his car heading to an abandoned building,the place was dark with no light on,"follow me, be careful not to fall" the man said supporting her,he took her to a room which was dim light " Demon she is a client" the man said "what does she want? and how dare you bring her here?" the man who sat on the couch asked in a dominant voice,"we're good friends,she needed my help that's why I brought her here please help her for my sake" the man said.The man who sat on the couch stood up and took a few steps closer to them,if it was someone else who had brought her in their turf things would have gotten ugly,the assasin organisation never let it's clients know their base,they only met in places no one would suspect,but the one who brought Alice was their ally he was trustworthy."Miss what do you want?" the man asked showing little interest "I need..y..o..you to ...kill someone" she said stammering,"is she drunk?" the man asked "yes she is,she had been going through alot" the man replied "make payment and give the details of the person you want to be eliminated" the man said."Do you have cash" the man asked ,Alice nodded her head and took a lot of cash money and handed them to the man,the man looked at her surprised "take all the money, I'll even pay you more as long as you can eliminate Jennifer Louis,she no longer lives in the country but I trust you will be able to find her" she said,she took out her phone and showed them her details,feeling everything was going well she sobbered up her hate for her was deeper than the oceans.The man smiled "yes ma'am,I promise to bring you good news" the man said happily."Okay,make sure there are no traces left or else I'll kill all of you,lets go" she told the man and together they left,the man took her back to the club and both drank celebrating their partnership,the man excused himself and headed to the washroom,he took oit his phone and dialed a number "hello did everything go as planned" asked the other person on the line,the man smirked "yes,she has taken the bait,it was so easy to manipulate her, when one is desperate she is bound to make mistakes,when she sobbers up she won't remember anything she won't even remember my face " he said a evil grin on his face,he had taken advantage of her arrogance and desperation,her hate for Jennie made things easy for him "good you better leave now, I'll take care of the rest" the man said and hung up a grin on his face,it turned out better than I thought,he thought,at an underground building Daniel sat on the couch watching a recording,he smirked his eyes brightening like a kid who saw his favourite candy,"as expected the game has begun",he said out loud.
