Chapter 32

A stunned silence followed Kai's words, the weight of his statement sinking into the crowd of officers around him.

Immediately their faces twisted in disbelief and confusion as they exchanged uncertain glances.

"What the hell does he mean by 'kill them one by one'?" one of the officers whispered sharply, his voice barely audible over the distant crackle of the radio.

At that moment the team leader's face turned red with anger, his composure breaking.

He stormed toward Kai, pointing an accusatory finger.

"Are you out of your mind? Do you even understand what you just said?"

However Kai's gaze didn't waver, his expression cold and unbothered.

At that moment the leader shoved a hand toward Kai's chest.

"They're holding hostages, damn it! Do you have any idea what happens if you push them too far? If anybody dies, it's on your hands!"

Still Kai didn't respond, his silence only fueling the man's anger.
