the entrance to an old filthy cabin located in the deep woods kreikes as it is pushed open by someone

A masculine voice says before being followed by the sharp sound of a broadsword entering its holder

"Shit"

A feminine voice says aggravated by the absence their target

"Keep your temper, remember he might have left a trace"

The masculine voice reinforces before holstering his long sword on his back and searching the cabin

"We've been at this for weeks, we should just give up the mission"

The woman says as she kicks over a vase on the ground in annoyance

"I have told you this many times, patience is key"

The man says before getting on his feet seeming to finish the search to the thankfulness of the woman

"Look"

The man says as he shows the woman a large piece of snake skin that had been shed

"What are we going to do with that"

The woman says before turning and getting ready to leave

"It's wet, that means it's close"

The man says as he throws the skin to the ground

"It also reakes of vinegar which means it's brooding"

The man says as he grabs his long sword from its holster

"Really"

The woman says as she grabs her broad sword and Almost on cue a creature hissing from outside the cabin

"Valery !"

The man screams as the giant creature lunges at the girl destroying the rackety cabin and grabbing the girl nearly piercing her leather armor

"Shit !"

Valery screams as she thrusts her broad sword into the creatures eyes prompting it to spit her out. Slamming her against a tree

"Get back and treat your wounds I'll make sure it doesn't leave !"

The man screams as he faces off the giant basilisk. Sword in hand

"SSS"

The creature hisses as it tries to slither away slowly

"Valery use your crossbow !"

The man screams as Valery shoots a bolt into the basilisks other eye

"Kreishh"

The basilisk shrieks as it starts writhing in pain

"Hmm"

The man screams as he leaps onto the snake and thrusts his sword into the top of its head between its eyes and keeping that stance till it slowly starts getting tired

"Are you okay"

The man says as he holsters his weapon and runs over to Valery

"Fuck it hurts, dad"

Valery says as she grips her stomach in pain

"You will be okay, do not push yourself"

The man says as he grabs a small eye from his pouch

"Dad I'm not eating that"

Valery says clearly disgusted by the item

"Valery this is not any time to pick and choose"

The man says as he forces the item in her mouth

"Ugh"

Valery says as she slowly starts to chew before then swallowing

"Sit here and do not rush yourself"

The man says as he grabs a knife before going over to the dead basilisk and starting his harvest

1 hour later

"I think I'm ok now"

Valery says as she tries to get up

"You must rest even if you think you have healed"

The man says as he starts to tie the meat and other resources together with a rope

"Trust me I'm good"

Valery says as she gets up and walks over to the man

"If you truly are then hold this"

The man says as he gives Valery a tie of the meat

"Make sure not to drop it"

The man says as he holds twos of the ties over his shoulders

"Yeah yeah let's get going"

Valery says clearly struggling with the meat
