Dr. Choi exhaled slowly, watching the monitors as Haeun's vitals finally stabilized. The tension in the room seemed to lift, though the atmosphere remained heavy with exhaustion. He turned to Yeongsoo, who was still leaning over Haeun, his hand tightly gripping Haeun's limp one.
"He's stabilized," Dr. Choi said, his voice low but reassuring. "But it's going to take a few hours for his fever to go down completely. His body's been through a lot, so we need to give him time."
Yeongsoo nodded, relief flooding his chest, though he could still feel the lingering weight of worry. His heart was still pounding from the intense moments before, but at least Haeun was safe—for now.
"What time is it?" Yeongsoo asked, his voice rough from the strain of the night.
Dr. Choi glanced at the wall clock. "It's just past 2 a.m. We'll keep him under observation, but the worst has passed. You should try to rest too."
