Maxim halted in his tracks but he did not turn to look at her, ''When you came to LA, did I not tell you that you can't play the princess here? This is not the castle that you are used to..."

Diana froze. 

Maxim tilted his head towards Veronica, ''Brief me about the patient's past medical records along the way.'' 

Veronica who was standing aside frozen while witnessing their argument, snapped out of her reverie. If she had any doubts regarding the nature of their relationship before this, those doubts did not exist anymore. Although they were arguing, but it was apparent what kind of relationship they were in.

Veronica inhaled a deep breath and rushed after Maxim who had already walked away. 

Diana stood there rooted to her spot as she looked at his retreating back. That view perfectly merged with the image of the young Maxim turning his back on her.
