1 It begins.

It was a dark foggy night in the land of humans when the men came for Senani. His grey and white timber wolf named Bear had been barking and growling nonstop. She grabbed Senani's right hand and drug him to the bedroom window. He looked out his bedroom window to see what had gotten her so anxious. Outside the window of his farmhouse, he could see 5 men armed with swords coming straight towards his house. The leader carried a torch to light up the night. Had it not been for the torch, he would have never known they were there. From the drawn weapons and the way, they carried themselves he could clearly tell they were there to harm or kill him. Senani locked eyes with the man with the torch. At that moment, the man laughed and pointed at the house. The other 4 men charged towards the farmhouse.

Senani grabbed his hunting knife and hatchet, put them on his leather belt, buckled it and crept downstairs with Bear. Slowly and silently, they made their way to the cellar and the back door. He was sure he had time to get out and into the woods before anyone could make it to the back of the house. Senani opened the back door. One of the men kicked him in the stomach as soon as the door opened and Senani flew backwards, crashing into the stairs. Bear lunged at the man, using her body as a shield to protect her master. Her weight easily brought him to the ground. The man stabbed her with his sword, inflicting a mortal wound. At the same time, Senani got back to his feet, pulled out his hunting knife and charged at the man in a fit of rage. He stabbed the man in the throat and nearly decapitated him in the one movement. His mind was overcome with the desire to avenge Bear. At that point in time nothing else mattered.

When he stabbed the man, a strange energy left him and entered Senani's body. Senani saw the words and His vision went black. The words SYSTEM ACTIVATED were all he could see. He shook his head to clear his vision and bent down to check on Bear. She was whimpering and barely breathing. He petted her face to try to calm her and he heard a voice. It said "I am your new system. You are in danger. I do not have time to Explain. Choose Yes if you wish to save your friend named Bear." Followed by the words.

"Do you wish to activate your Familiar Covenant with the wolf known as Bear?" Yes or No.

At the thought of the possibility of saving Bear, Senani thought Yes with no hesitation. Bear immediately disappeared. Senani looked around in confusion. Was he losing his mind? Where had his wolf gone? 5 seconds later she reappeared beside him. He put away his knife and hugged her in joy. His best friend was magically alive. Again, he heard the voice. It said: "Yeah, yeah, everyone is happy, the wolf lived. If you do not do as I say it will not be for long. There are still armed men out there looking for you. Touch the man you killed, choose yes, and run to the cave under the waterfall. I know you know the one I am talking about. I will Explain everything when you get there." Senani touched the man. A prompt again flashed before his eyes.

"Do you wish to store the body and all items it contains to your land grant?" Yes or No.

At this point Senani was so confused he could only do what the voice said. After all, thus far it had helped him to save Bear. He chose yes and the body disappeared. Senani fled to the woods and ran to the cave. He had hunted these woods all his life. It was impossible for these men to catch him here. He easily managed to get to the cave without seeing any other people.

Now that Senani was relatively safe, the voice began again. "You're a lucky ducky. My name is Rikki-Tiki, and I am your new Covenant System. There are a great many varieties of systems in this world. I will explain that when you encounter another type of system. Right now, what you need to know is I am now part of you. Think of me as a computer in your head. Now that you have me, you will gain stats and skills as you level up. More so than any normal person. Your weak now but you will grow. If you put on armor, your defense will increase. Your HP will grow as you level as well."

"Now let me explain what makes me unique. For starters you can contract a familiar. You can only have one. This will be your primary guardian. It is an extension of you and if it dies you will lose half your HP. It will be teleported to your land grant to heal and will return in time. You chose Bear as your familiar. Whether good or bad, this is a permanent choice. You can never change your familiar. However, your familiar can only be a creature you have a bond with. Bear would have been your only option. If you had chosen not to save her, you would have been alone, and she would have died. Bear is your best friend. And now with her familiar system she will also gain skills to aid you and will grow into your strongest and most loyal ally."

"Now a bit about the abilities you will gain by using me. I am a Covenant System. As you level you will gain the ability to create various types of covenants with different beings. I will explain each type as you unlock them. At level 0, you only have access to the Familiar contract. Contracts that you unlock beyond your Familiar will enable you to share skills with the creature that is contracted. For example, if your contracted creature has a stealth skill, you will be able to incorporate that into your own skillset."
