269 The 'Big Day'

Lily gave Zero one last hug and stepped back, but found that she could not as Zero held on to her.

Lily stroked his back, saying softly yet clear enough for everyone to hear, "You're going to be a father, Zero. I love you, I really do and I know you love me, too. You know very well that your child can't be fatherless like you were."

For some reason, Latifah's heart twisted a little at the words and the scene in front of her but she brushed it aside immediately. 

It was a good thing that Lily knew her place and was leaving on her own. If she had known this would happen, she would not have done all of that to try to get her to leave in the first place.

Lily made Zero bring up his head and she looked at his face tenderly, "I love you, Zero. Always have, always will."

Zero sighed, putting his forehead on hers.

She gave him a kiss and he finally let her go when she ended it.

"I'm going to miss you," he said hoarsely.
