78 Settling the Issue

Seeing her like this, with her imposing manner that made even Zero sit still, made Kai excited because he could see that she was holding herself up well.

He imagined her being the Matriarch and honestly, with complete objectivity, he could say that she would be perfect for it.

Yup, he as not being biased at all.

No, sireee …. *cough*

Zero and Lianne looked at the lovestruck look on Kai's face and had completely different reactions.

Lianne was flabbergasted, while Zero was amused.

Still, it made Zero feel a little bit better.

If Kai was like this, then it meant that Lianne had the upper hand in the relationship.

Kai was like a little puppy in her hands, submissive to her completely.

Which was good.

That's how it should be.

Just as Zero was feeling rather good about it all, he felt a chill at the side of his neck. With a slight grimace, he turned to face Lianne.

Seriously, considering this woman has never been involved in any fights or any life-and-death situation, the fact that she could trigger his senses that there was danger, said a lot about her character.

Or, perhaps it was because he subconsciously deferred to her?

That he would never do anything to hurt her, and would do anything to please her.

Zero suddenly realised at that point …

He wasn't really in a better position than Kai, was he?

"You, Zero," Lianne began, "Kai and I are a couple now. So no more of your 'no kissing' nonsense."

Zero did not look happy.

"We've done more than kiss, too, you know," Lianne began, a slow smile on her face.

Zero put his hands over his ears and looked away so that he wouldn't inadvertently read her lips.

Lianne grabbed on one of his hand and pulled it down, "Stop being such a baby."

Zero glared at Kai, then turned to face Lianne with a pleading look, "At least, no PDA."

"Well …. The most I can promise you is that he will no longer do anymore PDA in front of you," Lianne said, thinking of how expressive Kai was.

"Zero's face scrunched a bit then sighed, "Deal."

He will take what he could.

She grinned and leaned forward a bit, putting her chin on the palm of her hand, "But I wouldn't mind if you do a PDA with Lily in front of me."

The tips of Zero's ears went red but he didn't answer her, choosing instead to glare at Kai.

Well, his turn was over.

He was going to enjoy this bit now.

Kai, in the meantime, was still in a happy phase.

First, his Angel was so regal and domineering.

Secondly, his Angel admitted to Zero that they had done more than kiss. Which meant that she had truly forgiven him for copping a feel.

Okay, so he had done more than just cop a feel, but still … she forgave him.

"And you, Kai Sheng Wenyu," Lianne began, slowly.

Kai's eyes widened while Zero's smile got broader.

She used his full name.

Everyone knows what that meant.

"Yes, sayang?" Kai answered, hoping by using the term of endearment on her, she would soften the blow a bit.

Lianne's eyes narrowed.

Kai gulped.

Okay.

Bad move.

She said he could use it in private only, but not in public.

But Zero wasn't an outsider, right?!

Thus, he pointed quickly at Zero and said in a panic, "He's your brother, right? So this doesn't count as saying it in public, right?"

"No PDAs in front of Zero," Lianne reminded him, "Weren't you listening? Or did you forget?"

Kai's mouth formed an "O" … yes, he did forget.

But if he was to admit that, would he be in trouble again?

"If you EVER," Lianne began, when Kai cut her off.

"I won't! I swear," Kai said, putting his hand on his heart.

"And…" Lianne started again, when Kai nodded, saying, "Of course."

Lianne pressed her lips together, got up, and went over to Kai. She smacked him at the back of the head.

"Ow!" Kai said, looking at her aggrieved, "What was that for?"

"If you can tell me what I meant to say, those two times, then I'll apologize and make it up to you," Lianne said, "But if not …"

Kai nodded, and put up one finger, "First, I am not to take liberties on you when you are sleeping."

Zero's head whipped over to Kai upon hearing this, readying himself to get up and punch his face.

"Secondly, no more touching you unless …"

Before Kai could finish his sentence, the sound of a chair scraping against the floor was heard a second before a bullet called Zero launched himself on Kai. Kai had been focused on placating Lianne, and was sitting down, so his reaction was slightly slow.

Still, he managed to avoid the burnt of the force while Lianne took a long, deep breath as she rubbed the space between her eyes.

Male testosterones are just so thick and heavy sometimes.

It was partly her fault, too though, for insisting on Kai to say the words. She truly did not think he knew what she was going to say, so had not managed to get him to be more subtle in his words.

She was going to be vague enough so that while Zero would not know what she meant, Kai would have.

Again, she underestimated Kai's desire to always rub it in Zero's face about their relationship.

Why was she always making wrong judgments when it came to Kai?

This was not good.

While the two men continued their scuffling in the dining room area, Lianne started putting the food on her plate. It was simple egg sandwiches, so she took a few and walked over to her bedroom silently.

Unlike girls who would just talk things out, men normally have to fight it out.

She knew Zero could not just let it go while Kai was unable to stand Zero's constant interference. Until both could truly accept the other, they would always have this conflict.

Whatever it was, Lianne hoped this was the final one.

They had already fought each other before she got together with Kai. Turns out, that was only enough to 'get through the door' thing but Zero didn't fully accept Kai. Or, perhaps, he thought he did but obviously, he didn't.

After this, she was sure that they'll finally accept each other.

Lianne made a mental note that those two had better replace the furniture later on.
