96 Chapter 96

Syl finally reached the top only to see everyone freaking out.

"What's wrong? I thought I made it in time… there's no way I took too long." Syl put his hand on his chin. "Anyway! Where's Koenji?!"

"Fufufu. It seems I was a moment too late. I must have taken too long to enjoy the scenery on my way up." Koenji replied from behind Syl after just arriving.

Syl started laughing. "HAHAHAHA! I won!" Then he walked over. "That's a pretty lame excuse, what scenery were you even enjoying, trees?"

"Fufufu. It only makes sense you wouldn't understand. I was admiring the Deciduous's, Aspen's, Conifer's, and Lagerstroemia's."

"What the fuck even is that?" Someone in the group asked.

Syl ignored them and looked at Koenji like an idiot. "Yeah… trees. That's what I said."

"You know of them yet still don't appreciate their beauty? How concerning." Koenji replied.

Syl sighed. He couldn't even brag about his win cause this guy was so focused on the trees.

Ayanokoji silently lamented about the time during the island test where Syl lecuted him, Airi and Yamauchi about trees for over an hour. He still vividly remembered hearing about the history of the birch tree…

Anyway!

A teacher finally came sprinting over.

"Is everyone okay?!?!"

Syl was currently showing Koenji the toe of the bear while he was being shown an ear as proof that they both hunted the bear before coming here.

Syl turned his head. "Chie? What are you doing here?"

She ran at Syl and leaped into him, hugging him tightly. "I heard you were attacked!" She separated and started checking his whole body. "Where does it hurt? Here? Here? Here?"

Syl chuckled. "Nowhere. I'm fine."

"FINE?! How are you fine! Do you know how scared I was?! I heard you- I heard a student was attacked by a BEAR!"

She had small tears in the corners of her eyes.

She grabbed Syl again and hugged him tightly as she started crying.

At this point another teacher arrived while sprinting. "SYL! Are you okay?!"

Syl nodded his head as dumbfoundedly as he awkwardly pat Chie's back, in a sorry attempt to comfort her.

Chabashira who had just arrived fell to the ground and sighed in relief. "Thank god. I was scared you might die."

Syl looked confused. "Why would I die? I was just hunting."

Chie froze in his arms. "What?"

"I was just hunting a bear, me and Koenji did it together." Syl said as he yawned.

Chie abruptly stood up. "YOU DID THAT ON PURPOSE!?"

Syl nodded.

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW SCARED I WAS?! EVEN SAE NEARLY CRIED WHEN SHE HEARD!" She scolded.

"Ah, uh. But-"

"DON'T YOU BUT ME!" Chie grabbed his ear and started yelling into it. "YOU COULD HAVE BEEN HURT! DO YOU NOT THINK BEFORE YOU ACT?! I SWEAR IF I…"

She continued yelling at Syl as he had a helpless look in his eyes.

After 15 minutes.

"...DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW?! YOU CAN'T DIE AND LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Syl nodded absentmindedly, no one was listening anymore. They had all tuned it out.

Chie huffed. "Good. Never again."

Syl didn't respond.

Chie's aura changed as Syl felt a darkness surrounding him. "RIGHT?" She asked.

Syl frantically nodded. "Right! Right! Never again!"

Chie narrowed her eyes. "You better not be lying."

"I'm not! How could I ever lie to such a cute girl?!" Syl screamed.

"Cute?" Chie asked with narrow eyes.

Syl nodded.

Chie smirked and snorted. "Fine, I'll let you off this time. Only cause you're so cute."

She turned around and walked away, hiding the blush on her face from Syl.

She had just realized everything she said and did in her panic, and the cherry on top was that Syl called her cute!

She grabbed Sae and left the room.

Syl sighed and fell to his back.

"I think I burst an eardrum." He muttered.

Everyone else in the room was long gone as they didn't want to listen to Syl get scolded.

I mean, who would?

The next day.

It was a day of break, where everyone got to use the baths.

Syl yawned as he entered with a pink bunny robe. It had a hood with little bunny ears on it.

Once inside he made his way over to the bath and took a seat beside Ayanokoji.

While he was relaxing everyone started to have a competition.

They were comparing their 'sizes'.

Syl wondered for a moment, what if someone was a grower and not a shower? Wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose?

Anyway!

The competition was nearing its end with Koenji and Albert in the lead.

"Hey, you two have to join in! Maybe one of you could beat these two!" Someone called out.

Syl looked at himself, then at Ayanokoji, then at the guy who spoke. "Really?" He pointed at himself and Ayanokoji. "You think we'll win? Take a good look at us, you think we can beat them?"

Well, what Syl said was true… Albert and Koenji were twice their size. Especially Syl, he was probably almost actually half of Albert's weight.

Eventually after enough nagging, Syl finally stood up and took his robe off.

Then he revealed something that should shock no one…

He was pretty average.

Just normal.

Anyway, eventually Ayanokoji was forced to participate and ended up winning the competition.

But honestly, who really cares?

Not Syl!

He was too busy having dinner with Fuka again after the bath to give a shit.
