9. Battle freak.

The Jade empire was bustling especially today. After the appearance of a suspected mystic item close to the empire, it was the trending topic for all players and cultivators.

Mystic items are special items ranging from heaven grade to celestial grade. They come in all forms and sizes and can boost a person's strength by a lot.

"Dude, let's head over to the site."

"Nah. The place is surrounded by the Divine lotus and moonlight sects disciples."

"Sigh... What a bummer? I could become overpowered with a mystic item."

...

"A mystic item suddenly appearing and vanishing!!"

"Damn, mystic items can range from heaven grade to celestial grade items. Even seeing one would be a dream come true."

"Yeah, I hear that they are extremely beautiful."

"Let's first try to enter the Divine lotus sect. The Harmony Ascension challenge is coming up in a month."

"Yeah, the prize could be a mystic item as well."

All over the empire, the topic of the mystic item spread far and wide and all players were thrilled for a bit.

Outside of the empire, deep inside a forest, there was a place crowded with people wearing black robes and white robes from the moonlight and Divine lotus sects respectively.

They stood in the area, searching the surroundings to see if it was a beast instead that appeared but to no avail, they weren't able to find anything.

A young man in the black robe of the moonlight sects' inner ring disciples ran forward, he had the symbol of a crescent moon and two golden stars in the crescent.

"Senior Citan." The young man called out as he neared another student from the moonlight sect who had the symbol of the crescent moon but had three stars instead of two on his robe.

"What is it, Yonder?" The young man asked.

He had very short shoulder length hair and had it braided backwards with a few bangs in front.

His brown eyes stared at Yonder who painted in front of him curiously.

"I couldn't find anything, there was no creature around and no sign of a mystical item around." Yonder said and Citan gritted his teeth as he looked at the patch of grass.

"Gather the others, let's head back to report to the sect master." Citan said and Yonder nodded.

"Yes, senior." Yonder said as he bowed and left.

"Hmph, they're already giving up?" A girl with wine coloured hair, wearing a white robe and the white uniform of the Divine lotus sect said with a sneer.

She clicked her tongue as she saw them leaving and as Citan was about to leave with the others, a large, tornado of flames rose up with a boom exactly where the ashen grass was and they stopped and gathered.

The light of hell's gate appearing went so high that people in the empire could see it and they were all amazed.

"Get ready for anything!" The girl said as she brandished a beautiful rapier and Citan summoned a black spear in his hand which had glowing symbols on it that added to the beauty and power.

The tornado settled to reveal hell's gate. The red gate and the golden inscriptions on it made it look beautiful and majestic. The heat emanating from the gate could be felt by the cultivators there and they all began to sweat.

"Is this huge gate the treasure?" The cultivators began to debate and argue and just then... the doors opened.

Out stepped Silas who had a bored expression and he stopped as he came out to see the people who are surrounding the gate.

Juliet frowned.

She was still in her armour and she got agitated and angry as she saw the cultivators.

Silas raised his right hand up and then the gate turned into flames before entering into the summoning ring.

"It will be best to go deeper into the woods for now." Silas said to Juliet and she gritted her teeth towards the cultivators, showing her fangs and then she turned around to leave with Silas.

"St... stop right there!!"

Amidst the confusion and shock Citan managed to get a grip and say something. No one was expecting a gate, talk more of a person, and he couldn't feel any energy coming off of Silas so he associated Silas with a mortal.

"Ye-" Silas was stunned as he was suddenly surrounded by people from both sects and he looked back to Citan and the beautiful girl who turned out to be called Harissa.

"Who are you? What was that... Gate before?" Citan asked and Harissa pointed her rapier towards Silas.

"You better answer truthfully." She said.

"Who am I? I was called many things back where I'm from. But for now, who I am doesn't concern you." Silas said as he turned around to face Citan and Harissa.

They looked at the girl beside him and her armour and then their brows furrowed.

"You mortal!! How dare you talk to senior Citan like that!!"

"Senior Harissa doesn't deserve such disrespect!!" The cultivators all dashed towards him.

He stopped Juliet and then he cracked his knuckles. The gloves he was wearing didn't cover the upper part of his fingers and only the lower part and the rest of the hand.

He suddenly activated his chi and he dashed towards them, making the ashes on the ground blow up, causing a small blinding mist of ashes to rise.

Silas was precise. His eyes followed each weapon and his ears heard every slashing sound.

He was unstoppable as he punched and kicked the cultivators like a pro, their weapons were no match for his flexibility.

A sword was stabbed in his direction and he bent his body vertically and then held the arm, knocking the sword out. He broke the bones in the joint Invertedly and then he jumped with a twist, sending a kick that sent the student crashing into a tree.

Juliet was stunned as she looked at her master.

Every one of his attacks were timed with precision and accuracy. Even without a weapon, his hands could already be weapons of annihilation.

He moved as if he has practiced the moves for years and she was somewhat glad and happy to be by his side.

'Seems like my facets really are doing their part, I can really see and hear better.' Silas thought and looked back to see Harissa and Citan with shocked expressions.

"How's this possible?! You're just a mortal!!" Citan shouted and Harissa checked in the student close to her.

"Stop talking and come and fight if you want to." Silas said and Juliet appeared beside him.

"Master, these two are already at the Spirit duke stage which is quite far above what you can defeat with your level." Juliet said and Silas noddedd and then a black cube appeared above his hand.
