One last hint

Kiro finds himself once again lying on the flowers of the endless blossomed field of the spiritual realm. Esgrieth was staring into Kiro's eyes; her face was only two inches away from Kiro's.

-What is it?

-Do you the slightest idea of what you encountered in that forest?!

Kiro remembers the strange boy that he ran across his path.

-What was that thing?

-That was a demon, a powerful one to be precise.

-A demon of your kind?

-Yes, I never felt such a strong scent in centuries, if it hadn't spared you, we would both be devoured by now.

-Demons can eat each other?

-They can, cannibalism is actually common among demons, where the younger demons are devoured by the older and stronger ones.

-And how can you tell how old or strong a demon is?

-By their scent as I mentioned earlier, you being a human cannot even distinguish demons from your kind, let alone pick up their scent.

-So why do you think it spared us?

-Our scents mixing together might have ruined his appetite. Something we should be glad about.

-So you are saying I had no chance against that thing?

-Of course you hadn't, your cockiness almost amazes me sometimes, what you saw was a demon in its prime years, something even I cannot defeat, you saw that bloodlust couldn't even detect him.

-I see, now that you mention it, what's a demon's lifespan?

-If you were to ask for my kind, I would say a hundred thousand years or so, but it depends more if a demon is well fed or not. Humans have been our main source of power for many years. Their lust for material possession, power and blood. We are intrigued by them because they are similar to us in lot of aspects, including appearance.

-I see

-Well it's time for you to wake up.

Kiro wakes up on his bed. The sun hadn't risen yet. He gets up and wears his clothes.

"Vallerie leaves today, and I will be meeting Cyrian to find that totem. The last time I touched it I gained beast mastering "

Kiro leaves the bedroom and heads to the living room. As soon as he arrives, he lights a fire in the fireplace and then he takes a look at the wine shelf. He spots that a bottle looks slightly different from the others. Kiro gets up and tries to grab the bottle but soon discovers that the bottle is glued to the shelf. Kiro, instead of lifting the bottle, pulls it towards himself, revealing a hidden door behind the wine shelf.

"I think I just discovered that bastard's sex dungeon"

Kiro pulls the door to reveal a staircase that leaded downstairs.

"I hope I were wrong"

Kiro follows the staircase to see another door.

"This is it; I hope I don't regret this later"

Kiro opens the door to see a small library, where the wooden shelves were filled with books. Kiro wanders inside the library walking across the small corridors made by the bookshelves. One of them catches his eyes.

"The history of Hellar"

Kiro grabs the book, then he scrolls through some of the pages.

"I'll read this later, Esgrieth usually has the answers of my questions, but I think this would be better detailed."

Kiro takes the book and leaves the library, and puts the wine shelf back in its place. He leaves the book on top of the wine shelf and takes a seat on the sofa. Luchia enters the room and it's surprised to see Kiro awake.

-Ohh… look who's awake, I thought mongrels slept until noon.

-Could you make me some basil tea?

-As I had anything better to do.

Luchia leaves the living room and heads to the kitchen. She comes back shortly after with a cup of tea.

-Here you go

Kiro takes a sip from the cup.

-How does it taste?

-Kind of bitter.

-There wasn't much honey left, no wonder why it tastes bitter.

-Actually, it doesn't taste that bad; you can feel the full flavor of the basil.

-I'll keep that in mind.

Luchia sits near Kiro on the sofa. Kiro turns to her and asks:

-How do you feel about Vallerie leaving?

-I can't say for sure. I'm happy that she is finally meeting her family again, but… I'm going to miss her so much. And the mansion will be kind of empty without her around here.

-Well, she said she is going to visit so I wouldn't worry much.

Luchia suddenly throws her arms around Kiro, hugging him tightly.

-Please promise to me that you'll never leave me.

Kiro, kind of surprised, hugged Luchia back and replied.

-I promise

They start hearing steps in the hallway.

-That must be Vallerie and her dad; we should say our goodbyes before she is gone.

-What are we waiting for?

Kiro gets up and heads to the hallway followed by Luchia. They see Walgrouf and Vallerie waiting for them standing.

-Well, hopefully this won't be the last time we see each other- says Vallerie

-It sure won't- responds Luchia

They walk them to the front door, the sun had risen and it illuminated their path through the calm and gentle forest.

-Well we should be going; my wife must have been worried of my absence yesterday.

-Of course, be careful

Vallerie and Walgrouf start walking through the garden, when suddenly; Vallerie turns back and rushes towards Kiro.  She ran towards him blushing hard. Once she was close enough, she leaned her face closer to Kiro's, giving him a gentle kiss on the cheek. Kiro blushed, he blushed hard.

-Thank…Thank you for everything.

Vallerie rushed back to her Walgrouf, leaving Kiro and Vallerie speechless.

As soon as they left Cyrian is seen entering the front gate and seeing Kiro standing with his mouth open.  He turned to Luchia and asked:

-Did he see a ghost?

"That was the first time that a girl kissed me"

-Reaper, are you ready to go?

Kiro snaps out of it and turns to Cyrian.

-Let's eat breakfast first.

-Now that you mention it I haven't eaten anything since yesterday  afternoon.
