14. We'll Join Too

Austin walked into the classroom he felt he hasn't seen in a long time. He took his usual seat between Nessie and Christian. He let out long sigh.

"Austin...are you okay?" Christian asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah I'm fine. Why? Do I look bad?"

"No the opposite..." Nessie started to say something stopped.

"How do I say this? You look -no it feels like you have grown up a bit. Have you finally become a man?"

"You're letting your imagination take you places you shouldn't." I waved him off.

"That aside Austin you missed all of our classes yesterday and didn't answer you phone." Nessie pointed out.

"Yeah. What was with that?" Christian's eyes narrowed.

"Club activities." Austin said flatly.

"Right. Your club again." Nessie looked saddened but then flashed a smile. "We hardly get to see you since you've joined, Christian and I should join as well."

"Hm? That's interesting. I don't usually do much outside of my classes. And I'd love to see why your so hooked on this club so bad."

"No you guys absolutely can not join." Austin responded flatly again. 

Christian raised an eyebrow. "Now I'm even more intrigued and want to join. What are you hiding old friend?"

Austin turned around annoyed as Christian threw one of his arms over Austin's shoulder. "I'm not hiding anything."

"Good me and Nessie will be at your clubhouse after we finish classes for today. I can't wait to meet you club president."

Nessie smiled brightly. "I can't wait either. I hope we aren't intruding. It's just that it would be could to be in the same club together."

Austin sigh giving up against the power of Nessie was common place.

Then the door opened. Now that He thought about it, the teacher was pretty late. The person who stepped in wasn't their teacher but the headmaster of the academy. and behind her was. Roxas!?

"Hear me students. Settle down. Hear me." The headmaster began to speak. "Due to medical reasons you teacher Professor Ellis will be our for a few weeks. Until such time he has recovered I have assigned a temporary professor for you class. Please introduce yourself."

Roxas stepped up wearing a green turtle neck, black skirt and boots that covered her calf all underneath a lab coat. She surveyed them with uninterested eyes. Then she found Austin and zeroed in for a second.

"My name is Doctor Roxas el Bernard..." She said in the flattest sweetest tone. A long pause. It looked as if she had no intentions of following up.

"Kawaii!!" A lot of the boys in the class. called out. "Yes we FINALLY get the hot substitute trope. Luck has finally blessed us!"

Both Roxas and the headmaster were taken back by the slightly disturbing reactions from the boys. Even The girls were commenting on just how unworldly beautiful Roxas was.

Not that he stopped to think about it, Austin realized they had a right to be captivated. Every vampyre he has seen so far has had a beauty that could rival pre-curse medusa. Granted the only ones he has met outside the el Bernard family was Schera and Eleanor.

Aside adjusting to Roxas being my new teacher for a while, school carried on to its natural conclusion. And then the moment Austin wanted to avoid came. He stood at the door to the club with two unwanted stragglers. Both wore happy expressions on their faces.

The door came open and it was Schera. Austin was happy to see that she had healed nicely and was able to move around. He smiled at her genuinely happy and relieved.

Schera could only hold his gaze for a moment before she looked away. Her heart was beating and her cheeks flushed. She had to hid that from him at all cost. She took a second to control herself but could only think about the things they had done together and she only got redder in the face. And on top of that she could smell his blood through his pores.

"Vice Prez. Its good to see you. I brought new members." Austin's voice cracked as he introduced Christian and Nessie. He hadn't noticed how hard Schera was trying to control herself from jumping him.

Schera cleared her throat and finally looked at the two people behind Austin. "Hm? Oh, you are from that time."

"I'm not surprised you remember me. I am quite captivating on the eyes, mind, and heart." Christian took Schera's hand and kissed it. Then, completely misinterpreting her flushed cheeks, added. "Though an exquisite flower such as yourself would pair quite nicely with me, indeed."

Schera finally began to get control of herself as her expressions shifted back to default. She elegantly slipped her hand from Christian's grip very reminiscent of a previous scene.

"I don't think I got your name last time." Schera spoke to Nessie pushing up her glasses, and ignored Christian entirely.

"U-uh...Oh. My name is Nessie. I'm a second year. I like ice cream and like to bake. And i'd like to join you club please!" She quickly bowed as she said the last part.

An awkward silence followed before Austin tapped Nessie's shoulder.

"You didn't have to go that far."

Nessie slowly raised herself with an embarrassed smile. "Hehe, I was startled. Sorry."

"Scherazard Finch." 

Just then Cereza came darting out in a blur and practically tackles Austin. She wore the happiest of expressions on her face. "Austin!"

Nessie instinctively avoided the two as they crashed to the ground. She yelp and covered her mouth startled again. 

"P-prez?" 

The two locked eyes as blood rushed their faces. They both began to remember their night together.

Someone cleared their throats. Schera adjusted the frames of her glasses. "Lady Cereza...we have guests."

"Oh?" Cereza finally noticed the two unfamiliar faces and stood to her feet.

"They want to join our club." Austin said  rising to his feet as well. 

Cereza's smile brightened. "Wonderful. How much did you explain to them Austin?"

He rubbed is head. "We'll they kinda decided on their on to do this, so I haven't actually found the time to tell them anything."

"Hm?" She turned towards the two. "Why do you wanna join a club you know nothing about?"

"Well to hang out with Austin..." Nessie replied softly.

"Alas since joining this club of yours, our dear friend -no comrade- has drifted out to sea." Christian hammed it up.

Cereza smiled warmly. "Oh so you are friends of Austin?"

"Indeed and Lady Cereza was it? I must say your beauty truly is deserve of such temperament."

"Hey now you'll make me blush." Cereza laughed. "Anyhow and friend of Austin is a friend of mine, I'd be happy to have you as part of our club."

Nessie bowed again, this time much more refined. "Thank you for having us."

"You're actually helping me out. Now we only need one more member and we will be an official club."

Just then, without a word Eleanor walked up and stared at Christian and Nessie.

"Who are they and what do they want?"

Eleanor turned and spoke to Cereza annoyed. She wanted to feed. She woke thirsty and was out for blood. literally. But these two humans put a wrench in that plan.

"Its good to see you've recovered Eleanor. These are my friends." Austin responded first. 

"They will be joining our club starting today." Cereza added.

Eleanor sucked her teeth. She definitely wouldn't get to eat at this rate. She hated this. She had enough of blood flowing through her thanks to feeding yesterday. Her craving shouldn't be this strong. She even went through the bags of blood that were secured from a blood bank. But she felt nothing from them. She needed his.

She finally gave in to frustration. "UGH! Screw it." She turned to leave.

"Hey wait!" Austin called out. "Why don't you join too."

Eleanor turned around with eyes wide from shock.
