New World, New Me

A white light surrounded me, I was floating aimlessly with this space. Where am I? I tried to speak, but no sound came out. I could still think, but it seems like many of my five senses are completely gone.

I am dead, I remember the incident that happened, as the memories flooded in like people charging into a store during black friday, I began to feel regret and anger. Why did I have to die of all people?

My sister and mother could be staring at my dead corpse probably bawling their eyes out, I feel regret for making them sad. I feel anger towards the tiger and the d*mn rain.

I hope the tiger was put down after this, I despise that oversized cat. I wish I could just revive like a phoenix rising from the ashes. I don't know how much time has passed, it feels like an eternity here yet it also feels like seconds.

What a weird place this is, I can still think even though I'm dead, how weird. Maybe, I will meet god, maybe this is the afterlife. I can't tell if this is heaven or hell, do I just exist in between, no punishment or reward.

I did sacrifice myself to save a loved one, doesn't that count for me to go into heaven or at the very least get a pat on the back? This white nothingness is really boring, do I have to wait here for eternity.

'Hello Adam, it seems like you have been brought here after your little incident.' A soft yet booming voice resounded in the nothingness. I realised I can still hear things, I'm not sure about touch, feel or smell.

'Well, I am transmitting my thoughts into your soul using mental magic.' Wait, mental magic? There's magic?

'Yes, magic exists in the next world you will be reborn in.' Reborn, so reincarnation is real?

'Anything is real, it just depends if you have the power to make it a reality.' Power? It doesn't matter, am I going to be reborn on earth or another place?

'Another world other than earth. It is a realm of cultivators and magical beasts.' Is there a way you can instead send me to earth?

'Sorry, I can't.' What a shame, I thought that I could meet my mother and sister again.

'It is possible to travel from planet to planet, you just need enough power.' How do I obtain this power?

'My time is limited, you will learn everything when you arrive.' Wait can't we talk for just one more minu----.

A powerful force dragged me down, I think it dragged me down since I don't know which direction is which. I can't struggle, like a huge monster grabbing me and dragging me to the depths of the underworld.

I exited the white realm and saw that I was now in a dark place, tiny dots of light could be seen in every direction. Stars, I thought, I knew where I was, this is space, the very empty and dull vacuum of space.

I was still being dragged down and I faced another direction and saw a huge ball of light, it appears to be like the sun yet it was a bit more red than the yellow sun we see on earth.

The dude wasn't lying when he said I would be reborn in another world, will I be an alien with six arms, one with wings, maybe one that looks human. I hope it's the latter, I am very used to a human body so that would be the best for me.

I get riled up as I think about this, I read that those who get transmigrated into another world get a really overpowered item at the start. Maybe, just maybe I will get the ability to travel worlds.

I really hope I just don't get dragged into a war that is currently happening. How I know so much about transmigration, I read quite a lot of webnovels during university if I was incredibly bored. Mostly they were about transmigration to another world.

I look to the direction I assume is down, there it was, a huge ball made up of blue and green. It looks like earth, but it had a higher land to water ratio so there was more green here than those satellite pictures of earth.

I could also see some white which is most likely snow or clouds along with orangish yellow which is the deserts. I was directly on top of land if I kept being dragged towards the planet.

Second by second it grew larger within my vision, I could see more of the vibrant color than I could earlier. When I read martial arts novels the people in the world would have old chinese structures and would really never touch on the topic of modernization.

As I get closer, I can see clouds, and some mountains were visible too. I am approaching my destination. I wonder, will I be reborn as a noble, a prince, the son of a hero, h*ll maybe the son of a farmer.

The unknown made me a little scared, but there was a fire burning in my non-existent heart, it grew much stronger by the moment. I felt more excited at the thought of what I will be, maybe the next demon lord or something.

I pass through a cloud, I have officially entered the planet, I wish I could breathe the air around me right now. I am slowly approaching a forest, I can see the trees, they were bustling from the wind, I think.

I have no body right now and could only see and I confirmed I couldn't hear since I didn't hear the wind blowing on the way down my new home. Mother, sister wait for me, I promise I will come back to see you guys.

I quickly approach the forest, I can estimate I am two kilometers above it. I feel like I am on a diving board jumping into the abyss, there could be water, lava or rocks waiting for me at the bottom.

In a flash I entered the forest, in the leaves I couldn't see anything. My non-existent heart is pounding faster and faster, I wish to see my new parents, a new body. The leaves cleared away from my view, I saw that there was nothing there.

Wait, isn't there supposed to be someone here, my new mother? I quickly realise that my body isn't on the surface of earth as I enter the dirt of the forest. I couldn't see anything, it was so dark, obviously there was no light as it was blocked by the dirt and rocks above.

I keep getting dragged down for what I feel like is two and a half minutes. I could see once again, it looked like a cave, a dark silhouette was beneath me, I couldn't tell what it was. One thing I did know was that my new body.

It felt like an hour as I stared at the thing, as time passed I realised it wasn't a human, it was a monster. It had triangular ears with a long and slick body, emerald green eyes that could stare into the very souls of its opponents.

It clearly resembled an apex predator on earth, a panther. Panthers are basically black jaguars on earth, but it goes by a different name. I was furious and bewildered, why did I get reincarnated as a cat. The tiger and panther are both cats!

I had no choice in this matter, I was dragged into a small shadow next to the panther. My mind soon connected with the new body. I am now a cat in another world.
