Prologue: The Ring In The Sky

"I'm gonna go jogging okay?". The young man wearing a hoodie yelled towards the inside of the house. Of course, there was no response other than a grunt of acknowledgement.

He sighed and continued, "Breakfast is already in the fridge. You just need to heat it up okay?". Another grunt sounded out followed by some shuffling and the sound of a microwave turning on.

He knelt down in the entrance of the house and started tying his shoelaces before walking out the door. A breath of cold, refreshing air hit his lungs. Doing some casual warming up, he started a slow jog into the neighbourhood.

After a few minutes, his pace increased and his mind wandered. The daily exercise was getting monotonous and he couldn't help but let his mind wander.

Specifically, what led him to this situation. In his mind, he tried to recall the trigger to his so called reincarnation/transmigration. Literally, the last thing he remembered before transmigrating was sitting, reading novels.

Then, with a blink, he suddenly found himself in another life. The memories he had was surprisingly clear and he could recall things from a really young age. Such as him being an orphan and getting adopted, then getting orphaned again due to his parents dying.

Thankfully, his parents relatives were kind enough to take him in and he now lives with his aunt.

Anyway, enough about that.

He's lived as this guy for a total of a month. In this one month, he's been training up his body, studying, and generally anything that could give him an advantage in whatever event that he knows will happen.

There is absolutely no chance of him living a normal life after he experienced an event like transmigration. He didn't have any kind of system or desire for the top of the world. One of the things that proved his assumption was... this.

He stopped inside an abandoned warehouse and hunched over to catch his breath. He then sat cross legged and suddenly a white aura appeared around him. It looked like steam rising from his body and anybody that looked at him at this moment would question whether he was boiling alive.

Of course, though, that would be impossible. Since for some reason, nobody can see his aura.

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes and for around 5 minutes nothing seemed to happen. Then the aura seemed to shift around a bit before the steam like aura began to calm down. It settled around his body and seemed to wrap around him. His eyes snapped open and he jumped up into the air in excitement. "Yes! After a month, I finally did it!".

This caused the aura to start to waver and start leaking again. He cursed under his breath and sat down and concentrated again. It took three whole minutes before he could calm it again. He slowly stood up with his eyes closed. He slowly opened them and started walking forward slowly.

But the aura didn't disperse back into steam. After walking around for a bit, he started speeding up. Before long, he was running around the abandoned warehouse. Jumping over bits of junk and off of walls. The thing was, he was going far above the limits of a human.

For example, jumping up just over 4 meters off of the ground. Keep in mind the vertical jump world record is about 1.6 meters, while the high jump record is 2.45 meters.

You might think 1.55 meters isn't that big of an improvement compared to anime like Ultimate Kars who could jump 18 meters. But it wouldn't be fair to compare a Pillar Man with every living beings DNA with a high school guy with only 1 month of training.

Suddenly while he was enjoying his improved agility, an alarm went off from his phone. He stopped to catch his breath before checking his phone and seeing that he only has to go to school soon. Sighing a bit, he starts walking out of the warehouse and back home.

Walking back home, he noticed that the sky seemed a bit cloudy and decided to hurry up, lest he gets caught in the rain. "I better get an umbrella...", whispering this to himself, he picks up his pace.

(Later)

"Wow, it's really pouring huh?". He says while holding his hand out into the rain. His hand immediately gets wet from the rain. It definitely ain't a light drizzle like the weather report said. "Good thing I brought a umbrella. Two to be exact...".

That's right. This guy brought two umbrellas. This was not because he doesn't like getting wet, well he doesn't but that's not the point. This is because he forgot he already had a umbrella in his bag. When he was already on the train, he wanted to put the umbrella in his bag but found another.

He opened the umbrella up and was about to start walking to school but someone running towards from his left caught his eye. He had blond hair and was fairly tall. Taller than himself at least. He wore his uniform sloppily and his blazer was open to reveal a bright red shirt. On his face were a couple of bandages.

"Damn! Didn't think it would rain...". He reached the station and started ruffling his hair to get it a bit dryer. He looked to right and tilted his head a bit. "Hey, you seem familiar...". The one he was speaking to nodded and closed his umbrella before putting out his hand.

"Well, yeah. You're my classmate. Koryuuin... Shoudo? Right?". He looked surprised and took his hand for a handshake. "Oh, uh. Sorry, haven't been present a lot so I don't know many names yet". Our protagonist just smiles and says, "Don't worry. My name is Yoshiharu Harumi".

Now let's dive into Harumi's mind for now. He's being so friendly not because he's just normally friendly. No, that is because the person, Koryuuin Shoudo is someone that he suspects to be an important character.

If not, well, then at least he got to have a good first impression on him.

"So, uh... This might be a stretch. But just asking Yoshiharu-san, do you have an extra umbrella I could borrow?". This made Harumi a bit surprised and raised an eyebrow."Wow, you're really lucky. It just so happened I brought another umbrella today".

He quickly pulled out the other umbrella and held it out to Shoudo. Shoudo was much more expressive in his shock by his jaw dropping. "Really? Can I really borrow it?". He asked with a disbelieving expression.

"Why wouldn't I let you borrow it?". Harumi asked. "Well, there's the problem with my reputation and all...". This made Harumi nod. "And?". Shoudo grabbed the umbrella and asked a third time. "Are you really sure...".

"Don't make me say it a third time. Now take it. Come on, let's go". Shoudo nodded but responded with, "Thanks. But I'll be going ahead okay? I don't want to drag you down in case something happened". He opened the umbrella and bowed down to Harumi quickly before telling him thanks again and running ahead.

"Hmm, he's not as angry and shouty as I thought he would be". Harumi took out his umbrella and started walking at a normal pace. While walking he started thinking about the guy he just talked to.

Koryuuin Shoudo. A delinquent. Anybody who knows him would say the same. He's rarely at school, back talks to the teachers and gets into fights almost daily. When he does go to school on the rare occasion, he shows up with bandages and bruises.

He was interested in Koryuuin Shoudo. Not in that way, but in the fact that he is definitely a character that you would find in any story. The thing is, even after a month nothing happened. No reveal that the prettiest girl in school is actually involved in the supernatural or finding out that Shoudo has demon blood that makes him more violent.

It really feels as if nothing will happen and it makes him somewhat lose confidence. Yet, when he remembers the fact that he has powers, he throws away all those doubts. Speaking of that power, he coats his arm with the aura and swings it as fast as he could.

The motion caused a minor wind that could barely be seen with the eyes. He looks at his arm and sees it's wet. "So I'm not fast enough. Well, I'm only beginning".

After 15 minutes of walking while being caught in his thoughts, he could see the school gate and the fact that the rain had already stopped. The sun was shining bright in the sky.

"I should really stop going deep into my thoughts. It'll get me killed by truck-kun and I don't want an isekai adventure. Well, I'm already in one though". Saying these thoughts aloud, he went to close his umbrella. But something in the puddle caught his eye.

"Hm?". He stepped closer. "A ring? That big in a puddle?". When he stepped on the puddle, it rippled. Causing the image of the ring to also distort. "No, wait. It's a reflection?!", he almost shouted.

He slowly looked up into the sky. There in the sky, was a giant ring. Just in the sky. "OH FUCK NO!". At this moment, Harumi panicked and screamed. "THAT IS NOT ARS ALMADEL SALOMONIS!". This attracted the gazes of his fellow students.

This was how, Yoshiharu Harumi's normal life ended and his extraordinary life began.

This was originally a fanfic, but I decided to post it as an Original instead.
