Nevian's POV
It had been over five minutes since I arrived, yet father was yet to show up which was unusual.
Craning my neck, I tried to get a glimpse at the staircase, hoping to see him from there but I couldn't.
Just when I wanted to go fetch him, he walked through the door, his phone hanging loosely in his hand with a bright smile on his face.
"I'm so happy my prayer got answered." He said, pulling me into a tight hug.
"I'm not a kid anymore, you're suffocating me." I tried to pull away from him but he held on, even squeezing harder.
Father must have gotten so stronger instead of weaker.
"That's what you tell others but not your father." He said when he finally pulled away.
Now sitting across from me, he crossed his legs with his gaze fixated on me.
Unsure of what to say to him, I just sat there, darting my eyes round as I waited for him to start the conversation but he still wouldn't say a word.
