Khloe's POV

Just when I thought I had lost everything I held dearly to, there was a drastic turn of events which I wasn't going to forget in a hurry.

Currently, I was in the middle of a large hall with my workers all around, wearing a cheerful look on their faces.

It was MK's Confectioneries N Cakes first year anniversary, which explains the joyful atmosphere.

MK Confectioneries N Cakes had already been my childhood dream but I had no idea how I was going to achieve it but here I am today, my dream came through, all thanks to Nevian Allerick.

That night when he initiated a call to my parents, my strong defense weaned off, causing me to fall on my knees as I pleaded for mercy.

He was adamant but finally, I was able to make him change his mind.

That same night, I pleaded for a loan as I would be needing a lot of money to get back to my feet.

Foremost, I needed a house and then a business that would be able to provide for my basic needs.

To my delight, he agreed to lend me five hundred million dollars, giving me the ultimatum of two years to pay off.

And that was the last time I came in contact with him as I didn't want to have anything to do with anyone by the name Allerick.

Smirking, I placed my glass against my lips, using my other finger to comb through my hair as I watched my workers.

My hard work, coupled with that if my staff had brought me to where the business was. It was just a year in existence but we were the fourth best in the country.

"Ms. Khloe, we got a donation again." Tiara, my secretary whispered, her face beaming with joy.

Pulling out my phone with a bright smile on my face, I set my glass on the table in preparation to make a call to the donor only for her to halt me.

"It's your secret admirer again." She winked, causing me to roll my eyes to the back of my head.

Whoever this anonymous person was, he or she was watching me from a corner and I was desperate to find out who the person was.

The anonymous donation all began three months into the establishment of the company and ever since then, the million dollars donation comes in every month.

"The detective said they can't trace who the person is." I said, crossing my hands on my chest.

My curiosity had led me to contact a private detective to look into the case but there haven't been a result since then.

"Come on, you worry too much." Tiara said, "I doubt if this person is making an error, it is an intentional act."

"But still, I need to find out who the person is, at least to extend my appreciation."

"He doesn't want that, that's why he chose to remain anonymous." She said, making me roll my eyes in frustration.

Pushing my hand into my hair, I tugged on it for a while before I downed the contents of my glass and the next minute, I was heading to my office on the top floor.

Immediately I plopped on my chair, I quickly reached out for my laptop and the first notification that popped up was the donation of a million dollars.

Taking a deep breath, I shut my laptop only to open it to send out a mail to my chain of suppliers.

Still on this, the intercom on my table began to buzz and I reached out to it at once.

"Khloe Ethan on the line, how may I be of help to you?" I asked, typing furiously.

To keep my identity hidden, I changed my last name and also avoided the camera as much as I could.

Only a few business partners had met with me face to face, others had to meet with Tiara who always did a great job.

"You turned us down again." A familiar voice said and after a few minutes of pondering, I remembered where I had heard the voice from.

Lance Allerick had chains of businesses and so he wanted to form a partnership with me because of the popularity of my brand but I always turned his aide down whenever he contacted me.

"Foremost Mr. Xavier, I already told you the content of the partnership doesn't go in accordance with my motive and also, I'm not interested in any form of partnership with your cimelany." I said with a firm and business tone voice to drive home my point.

"Why?" He asked. Just like his boss, he was obstinate but I was going to prove to them that I wouldn't be swayed by their persistence.

"You're funny Mr. Xavier." I chuckled for a while.

"MK isn't a part of your boss franchise, I owe him no money and so I'm not subjected to whatever he wants me to do."

"Ms. Khloe Ethan, you shouldn't be obstinate, you know." His voice and words sent cold chills down my spine that for a moment, I couldn't say a word.

"You have six hours to sign the partnership agreement I will be sending to your office via fax right now, or risk losing your business."

"Have a nice day!" He said with a dismissive tone and then hung up.

Stunned, I couldn't say a word as I held onto the telephone which was still against my ear.

Tiara who walked into my office was the one who brought me back to consciousness.

"Ms. Khloe, those persistent goons are back with the partnership agreement." She placed the document on the table and then stepped aside.

"Thank you!" I muttered and after a curt bow, she took her leave.

For the next few minutes, I read and read the contract that I could literally recite everything without mincing a word.

"What does Lance want from me?" I muttered, biting my lower lips as I began to tug my hair in frustration.

Rising to my feet with my hands clenched by my side, I said, "I have to act fast otherwise, I will lose everything I have worked for."
