Chapter １７

I have given him a chance, a long time ago, everything was  too late now.

"Everything was set up!"

"Set up? Who, set you up?" I scoff coldly.

"I can't tell! I really can't tell!"

"Heh." What a botched excuse, and even if it is a trap, he had sex with Abby, he still denies that betrays me.

“I didn’t come here to listen to such nonsense, but you need to explain it to me thoroughly, and I will tell you where my head is at. Though the past doesn’t cling to me anymore and it’s not significant to me.”

"Then, are you willing to forgive me? Can we still be together?" a shimmer of delight appears on his face, and he takes a step forward and grabs my hand. “Is there a sliver of hope that someday you could forgive me and we can still be together?” Delight appears on his face, and he takes a step forward and grabs my hand.

"Forgive?" I step back, shaking my head, "I can forgive you, but we can never be together!"

"Why?" Jonny heaves a slight sign.

" Because I can’t stand to be with you anymore, it’s toxic and it makes me sick! Let’s just agree, you and I that there’s no more us.” I smiled bitterly at him. I don’t regret this confrontation. It didn’t help the situation much but at least I don’t need to run away from it anymore.”

"Alexia, is it because you already have a boyfriend that why you’re rejecting me?" Jonny Evans suddenly grabs my arm, and asks angrily, "I heard Abby say that you are dating a rich man!"

I became even angrier. Why does he interfere with my private life, "Wow, you have the nerve to say that! You are not worth the wait. I’m here living my own life and then you turn it against me?”

"Alexia, I'm sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you." Jonny explains in panic.

"Don’t you have a life with Abby since you took her abroad? What’s this gimmick of yours looking for me again after all those years?” I feel like going crazy every second I waste here with this guy.

"No, we didn't end up together since we went abroad, we are just ordinary friends!" Jonny wants to explain.

"Shut up!" I couldn't bear it,

"I said, we will never be together again. Period!"

I turn around, and left.

Andie has been waiting for me. After listening to my conversation with him, she pats me on the back, "Good job."

We return to Andie's house and she is very excited, "Your performance today was so great. Are you rejecting him? I think he deliberately makes this excuse to lure you to see him!"

I sigh, "I never want to see his face ever again!"

If Abby Williams was not my half-sister, if our two families don't have those complicated relationships, maybe I can pretend that nothing happened.

"Then what are you struggling with for so many years?" Andie asks me with a puzzled expression.

"I just can't figure it out." I lean on the sofa and close my eyes. "Don't talk to me, I'm so confused right now."

"Hey, I don't understand you!"

Andie suddenly grabs me and asks, "Alexia, tell me honestly, are you still a virgin?"

"Get out!" I am blushing, I don't want to answer such silly questions. I am about to eat up all Andie's snacks as revenge.

I haven’t slept at all thinking of how eventful these days were for me. One after another.

The next day, I returned home, ready to go to work, before leaving the house, I checked and looked for the Sky Mermaid necklace which Smith gave to me, and put it in the bag.

I contacted Warren and want him to hand it over to Calvin, but he refuses. I have no choice but to return it myself.

I snuck into his office again, when I bump into him, he was very happy to see me here. But when I take out the necklace, his face suddenly turns dull.

"I said, if you don't want it, throw it away!" Calvin's tone was stern.

"But this is too expensive," I husk.

Calvin abruptly stands up, grabs the exquisite jewelry box without even looking at it, throw it in the trash can.

"Hey! Are you crazy?" Without thinking about it, I rush over and quickly take out the jewelry box from the trash can.

"Don't you want it?" Calvin stares at me with mocking eyes.

"I—" I am so angry. This man was seriously wasting money.

"Is there anything else?" Calvin's tone was cold as ice. "Get out of here!"

I am shocked. My mind goes blank and my body becomes cold. I have known him so long. This is the first time he has spoken to me in this tone. I feel like I want to cry...

"I'm sorry to disturb you!" I duck my head, try to calm my emotions, turn and leave.

However, just as I was about to open the door, Calvin suddenly grabs my arms and pulls me into his chest. Before I could speak, his mouth directly blocks my scream in his throat. His, hands directly slipped over my breast.

I am feeling my cheeks are on fire.

Then his hands slide between my thighs.

I winch, and he quickly releases me.

"You!" I look up at him,

"Why do you have to hide inside within your facade?" he sneers.

"What do you mean?" His words chill me down to the spine.

"You are so beautiful, no wonder every man who approaches you wants to sleep with you." I can hardly believe my ears, why he suddenly said such hurtful things.

Calvin's P.O.V

I see Alexia's expression, but my heart was filled with constant anger. I feel that every expression of Alexia was hypocritical.

"How many men have you kissed? How many men have you slept with?" I stroke Alexia's mouth with my fingers, to be honest I don’t know why these words comes out of my mouth.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" Alexia was so angry. She suddenly pushes me away.

"You don't know? You seem to be very good at seducing men!"

"Mr. Smith, shut up! What do you think I am? Even so, it is none of your goddamn business?!"

Alexia’s angry stares seems to tear me apart.

"Of course, it's none of my business, I just think," I squint, and she sneers for a while.

"I'm blind for falling into you!" Alexia sees to blast.

What?

She falls into me?

Alexia's pov

At this moment, I just felt that my head was about to explode. Even after so many years, I feel that I have been particularly strong. However, such humiliation still makes me unbearable.

How dare he insinuate that I am a slut!

I laugh. I nod, "Yes, I'm poor, so I insulted your noble personality! But don't forget, I never accepted you from the beginning! It's you, who always pursues me! If I am dirty, you are dirty too!"

Calvin stares at me. He frowns and yanks the door open. "Get out! Don't let me see you!"

“I’ll be resigning from my office and this company soon! You won’t see me again, after that!” straighten my back, meets his gaze, turn and proceeds to go out.

The moment I turned around. I couldn't hold back the tears anymore.

Warren looks at me worriedly, and I could only give him a bitter smile with tears.

Warren frowns and walks into the office. Calvin looks mad like he was going to kill someone, but he still asks in a calm tone: "Bro, you know Alexia before, right?"

Calvin nods his head and look at Warren.

"Don't give me that look, I guessed it!" Warren shrugs.

"You have never been into a girl like this, and you gave her sky mermaid, you know you love her! "

"Leave me alone!" Calvin's eyes exude danger.

“I don’t care I just want to annoy you!  I just think if you liked, then don’t let this exceptional woman past. After all, she did love you too, I presume?”

"Shut up! Get out!" Calvin's face turns extremely ugly for a while.

Warren heaves a sigh and walks out.

I cry and dart back to the office. Fortunately, they all went to lunch.

I am the only one in the office.

Later, Andie comes back and finds my puckering crying face, wanting to comfort me.

Worried that the other colleagues would come back soon, I dragged her to the bathroom to talk. As we went there, and we’re the only person inside, I told her what happened with Calvin. She was shocked and she doesn’t expect Mr. Smith to treat me like this.

"Then what do you plan to do next." Andie looks at me worriedly, "For now, I’m going to follow the words I’ve left for Mr. Smith. I’ll be leaving the premises and find a new job with another good environment to work from." I wipe away my tears and reply with a bitter smile.

"What's in your hand?" Andie looks at the paper bag in my hand curiously, and I am surprised to find that I had brought Sky mermaid out. Andie grabs the bag and was shocked.

Suddenly, someone smashes the door outside the bathroom.

"Hey, who is locking the toilet door?" It was Angel’s voice, followed by Bella behind her.

"You can meet this bitch everywhere!" Angle curses.

I quickly put away the diamond, looking myself with my phone camera, and find that my eyes are a little swollen.

Angel says nothing when she comes in, "You two must have done nasty things in the toilet."

"Smelly!" Andie covers her nose with a look of disgust, "Some people fart as soon as they come in, it's so stinky, Alexia, let's go!"

Angel flushes with anger, and just about to curse, Andie drags me away.

"Did you hear what they were talking about just now?" Angle asks Bella.

"No! Their voices are very small. I only heard them talking about Mr. Smith, but I didn't hear the others." Bella replies cautiously.

"Trash!" Angel slaps Bella angrily.

"By the way, the jewelry box in Alexia's hand seems to be very precious," Bella whispers.

"Huh? She is a poor girl, what precious things can she have?" Angle chuckles with disdain.

On the other hand, I am worried about this precious jewelry, and I don't know how to handle it.
