Sek listened closely and after Ceri had told him that his mother talked about Seth's mother repeatedly, it made him feel awkward.
Sek could not imagine how it must have sounded to Ceri, listening to his mother complain about Seth's mother, and he knew that it would be in an obsessive kind of way. In fact, he was embarrassed to probe further, but he felt that he was onto something here.
"What did you make of it? I mean, anytime the queen talked about my half-brother, how did you feel about it?", King Sek asked Ceri Binner.
Ceri Binner crossed her legs... she felt comfortable in the king's presence. It was as if they had been friends for a long time. It hurt a part of her heart that it was under this circumstance that she and the king had met. Ceri wished that she had met King Sek when everything was still normal and flowing smoothly. [Maybe...], she thought.
