Chapter 3: To the store is where we go

As we exited the school the altered sky appeared before us. Japan was seemingly cloaked in a dome of sea water, bound together by mysterious forces. I summon Ming to my shoulders so I can be ready to attack. Ms.Otaka was behind me, her appearance pleasing to the eyes. While I would love to stop and admire an appearance like that, we need to find shelter. Perferably shelter that contained a variety of supplies. "Ms.Otaka," I said to get the teachers attention. "Just call me Hiyori" said my teacher, seemingly letting go of all formalities. "Then Hiyori, we need to go the shop across town" I told her. "Okay, but may I ask why?" she asked me. "Well the store contains a variety of supplies, it is the best place to stay while the apocalypse is going on" I told her. "Okay" she said, however she made a request. "Can we stop by my house and get something?" she asked.

"Sure" I replied, scanning the streets for any more demons like the necro ones. We began heading towards her house. As we were walking Hiyori asked me a question. "Ryuki, can you explain to me why you have those powers?" she asked. I guess she is still curious about Ming and the like. "Well when I made a contract with Ming, I was granted new powers and a new form" I told her as we were now nearing her house. "What do you mean 'new form'?" she asked, her questions asking for seemingly many things even I am not sure of. In order to get an answer I called Ming.

"Hey Ming, how come I was granted a 'new form'?" I asked her. "Well when a person makes a contract with a demon their body is reconstructed, creating a new lifeform capable of handling our power" she said, her explenation clear but further questions could have been made. I decided to leave it alone for a bit, as we finally came upon Hiyoris' house. The house itself matched the many others who lived in this neighborhood. However, what differed was the nameplate and the unique door decoration. Unlike the other houses, her door had a talisman on it. As we headed in I felt a very weak spell try to activate on me. However it was so weak I did not need to worry about it, most likely attributed to Mings power.

The interior of the house was neatly decorated. The house had two floors with five rooms on each floor. Each room looked organized and refined, as if cleaned by a professional. We headed upstairs to one room labeled [Kiyori]. As we went in the room was decorated in a theme of red, blue and white. The bed was blue and white, while the wall paper was redder than what one would think of blood. I see Hiyori dig through a chest located at the foot of her bed and what she dug out was two boxes. One was long, about the size of at least 2 ft and 3 inches. The other box was smaller, about 1 ft and the width of 6 inches. Each box was deeply ornate, decorated with silk and had emblems of golden clouds upon it.

She also dug out a belt and she put the belt on, with a space reserved for the smaller ornate box. However, she now opened the longer box, the longer box containing a katana. The saya was red in nature, emblazoned with characters on the side as if trying to invoke magic. The tsuka was metal and bound in tight red cloth. The tsuba had the form of a flat lotus emblem granting the blade a more regal look. She put the katana on her left side, with the smaller box on the right. The blade gave her a more defined warrior look.

"I did not know a teacher like you would have a katana" I said outloud, being surprised that my seemingly gentle teacher had a fighter side within her. "Well my family does train sword wielders" she said off-handedly. "Well what is the small box for?" I asked her. "A surprise for later" she told me, me now waiting eagerly for the surprise. I then headed downstairs as she grabbed a few other things and grabbed some knifes and other dangerous objects to use as weapons. "Hey Ming, where is the sword?" I asked Ming. "When the sword is no longer needed, it is desummoned and the benefits it brings are also canceled" she said. So I guess the sword skills were due to the powers bestowed by the blade, so I will need training. 'I guess I need to find a sword, I guess after a bit we need to travel to Kyoto' I thought to myself as I heard Hiyori come down stairs.

"Hey Hiyori!" I said in a louder voice hoping to get her attention. "Yes?" she said, clearly indicating I have her attention. "When we head to the store and after a few days, we need to head towards Kyoto" I told her. "Why?" she asked me. "Well I would like to obtain a sword, preferably a good one. A family member of mine forges them there and they are good quality" I told her. Going to Kyoto also served an ulterior motive of checking to see whether they are alive.

"Okay lets go" I said to her as we left. We walked down the street, the sky still looking eerie as ever. We then made a turn as I spotted several necro demons. I called forth the [Goetia Armory: Dao blade] and began to fight. Using the powers granted to me by the blade, I swung with grace and fury, wrapped in a neat bow. My blade was seemingly bathed in flames, burning each cut target to ash. It was not long until they were dead. We then headed further until I saw a large form, with skin like red rubies and two black horns jutting out from the side of it's head.

"It looks like an Oni from paintings" said Hiyori. "You're right, but I think we need to take a detour, as this one looks stronger than the regular necro deemons we encountered thus far" I told her as she nodded. We then took a detour to the left and we walked for a about 15 minutes until we came across the store. The store was massive and was named Natsu Wears. "Lets hope they have some good food for I am hungry" said Hiyori as we entered. As we entered was saw the store was in a mess of sorts and was generally somewhat unclean, despite the apocalypse only happening recently.

"Well, looks like we might have to watch out for some invaders" I said to Hiyori as she readied her katana for battle. "I believe your right" said Hiyori as we ventured into the store looking for good food.
