"It's nothing, I...I... Was just lost in thoughts and accidentally bumped into you. Let's go into the elevator then." Aurora remarked walking ahead of him and into the elevator.
Ryan stared at Aurora, his gaze piercing into her body. He knew the decision he had made might have caused some questions in her heart but he did not care to explain it to her, she was meant to follow his words regardless of if she was comfortable or uncomfortable with it.
Aurora felt Ryan step into the elevator, she moved to the side fidgeting with her fingers. Marriage was not what she signed up for. "I can't get married to you. I do not have any plans of getting married anytime soon and that too, getting married to you."
Aurora began hesitantly knowing fully well her words would fall on deaf ears. "I already have a fiancee back at home, I love him and not you. I agree you want to achieve your goals and fulfill your late Fiance's wishes but I am not the best person to fulfill it for you."
Ryan's eyes hardened at Aurora's words, she dared to mention Avery. The air around him turned stifling, Ryan swiftly turned around and pressed Aurora on the walk cornering her with an angry look in his eyes...
"And what makes you think I would want to marry you too? I love my fiancee and I wonder rather remain single than get married to her lookalike who is not her!"
"And also, you have no right to question me about my decision. Your life is mine now, it is mine and mine alone. If I chose to get married to you then you have no choice, if I choose to force myself on you then you have no choice! It will be better if you keep quiet and focus on the goal."
Ryan said slowly in a thick and angry voice his gaze piercing into Aurora, he was putting her in her place. Aurora shifted uncomfortably pinned by him on the wall, her eyes shut tightly close. She felt uncomfortable and his words felt like burns to her skin.
"Listen and listen well. I will never get married to you or even fall in love with you, my standards are not so low. This is going to be a contract marriage, the wedding is going to be for show. Every single thing we are going to be doing is for the sake of achieving my goals."
"The contract will be drafted and signed by me and you before the wedding takes place. All you have to do now is, get yourself ready for the wedding and also prepare to meet my family and yours too. Learn to put a smile on your face too, you will be needing it."
Ryan said and backed away from there, she straightened out his sleeves and stood like he has not just intimidated someone and made her scared.
Aurora shivered in fear behind him, his words slowly sank into her mind. The tears she had been trying to hold back freely fell from her eyes silently, she stifled back her cries holding onto the wall like her life depended on it.
Aurora didn't know what phase and life she was encountering, she did not know if God was placing a test in front of her eyes. All she wanted was to go back to her family and live her life like she did in the past.

Collins stormed into the huge mansion furiously, he pulled roughly on the tie on his neck dumping his briefcase on the ground for the servants to pick up. "Someone get me a glass of water!" Collins yelled taking a seat, he placed his hand on his knee gripping it tightly.
Anna rushed out of her room ready to celebrate with her son, after all, she was the mother of the new CEO of the group. "Welcome back home son. Congratulations on your promotion, let's celebrate. I had the servants prepare your favorites for dinner today, your success is making me very happy."
Anna remarked happily disregarding the frown on her son's face, she turned around rushing out of there. Anna quickly returned with a plate of sliced cake in her hand, she sat beside her son and stretched out the spoon to him.
"Here you go, son. Eat it, the cake is for our celebration." Anna encouraged shoving the spoon in front of him but Collins was having none of it.
"What are you doing Mother!?" Collins yelled angrily pushing the spoon to the ground, he glared at his mother angrily while wearing a disgusted expression and staring at the cake.
"What is wrong with you? Why are you looking so upset? I am trying to celebrate your success with you, yet you are acting angry at him. What's wrong with you?" Anna equally yelled at her son with an aggrieved tone.
Collins rolled his eyes, his mother was always doing whatever she thought was right without asking about his opinions first. "And why are we celebrating Mother? Is there an occasion? Is it your birthday or mine? It isn't right?" Collins questioned wondering why the bubbling mood from his mother.
"No, it's not my birthday but my son became the CEO of the large group today, can't I celebrate? Should I not celebrate the fact that you finally achieved your dreams? At long last, you outsmarted the daughter of the family and sons bright."
Anna reminded him enthusiastically. Collins couldn't help but shake his head, his mother was not only making matters worse. His mother's ignorance made him wonder why his father even married her in the first place. Anna stared at her son with puzzlement in her eyes, she wonder why he seemed pissed off.
"I did not become the CEO, mother! I never did, before I could become the CEO, the position was swiftly taken away from my mother! Your son is still your son!" Collins enlightened just mother releasing a frustrated sigh.
