Desperate Measures

The seaside was very quiet at night, there was no noisy talking, no roaring cars, only the gentle sound of the wind and the wonderful sound of the waves.

Ava paid the fare to the driver, got out of the car, and stumbled towards the villa on the beach. When she reached the door, she raised her hand to press the doorbell with her fingertips but hesitated for a moment.

But when she thought of her brother who was in the hospital, her wavering heart became even more determined.

She pressed the button several times and waited quietly for the owner inside to open the door.

Three minutes passed and there was still no one answering the door. She had to press the doorbell again, but still no movement. Ava began to get anxious and knocked on the door directly. She sat down by the door, crying. Why was no one opening the door? Was no one at home?"
