Conqueror of Magic

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Read on mobile device for best experience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having lost his parents at a young age and not having access to a home since it had burned to the ground after a sudden outburst of flames, Arthur was taken in by the council of sorcery. Not because they had felt sympathy for him but simply due to the fact that even though his parents had been burned to ashes, Arthur did not even have a single scratch on his body. Now intrigued by the boy, the council of sorcery sent their most obedient servant; the one they call “the inspector” to relocate Arthur into a prestigious school so that his strength could bloom so that they could have a powerful ally in the future. Even so, the council of sorcery commanded that the school treated him like trash. This was because Arthur’s parents were quite powerful in their prime and as such were sought after by the council of sorcery. Even though it was an amazing offer for Arthur’s parents, they refused which invoked the long lasting rage of the council of sorcery. In a world full of factions that try to sway the tides of power to their own side, Arthur must now learn how to grow strong so he could finally find the person who had killed his parents and get revenge for the years of torment that the council of sorcery had put him through. Although he just might get quite a bit more than he bargained for. —————————————————————————————————————————— Note: This story will be quite long since there are a lot of things that need to be covered in the story. Sadly though, I’m fueled by compliments so the more people that enjoy this novel, the more I can write. Schedule plan for this novel is 2 chapters a day, 1000+ words each or if does quite well, it will be moved up to 3 chapters a day (same number of words each). —————————————————————————————————————————— Hope you enjoy this novel though, happy reading.

Metal

"What do you mean by that? You're saying that the original purpose of the weapon was to control the blood of humans and manipulate it as you wished? Wouldn't that technically be an evil way to kill someone? I mean they don't even have a fighting chance," said Arthur to which Dan looked disappointed in himself.

"I realize that the weapon was an evil one however the military could have used this revolutionary weapon to change the tides of the power struggle. I wanted to be noted in Juno's history as the hero which made the change in our country's future for the better. I was so close to accomplishing that goal however in the end, I failed. I tried many more times to fix my mistakes and create a perfect weapon however it was costing a lot out of the military's budget and in the end, I was told to stop my experiments since they had all ended in failure," said Dan in a sad voice as he thought about his failures in the past and how he caused harm more than good for his country.

"No actually, I don't think it's an evil weapon. I mean you're in the military after all. The purpose is to become victorious. Who cares about the method. A win is a win," said Arthur which confused Dan but still made him feel better about himself.

"And who cares if you failed many times. All you need to do is take a break and reassess your situation. Learn what caused the failure and find a way to overcome that. Everyone fails to accomplish a task but it's not true failure until you give up," said Arthur as he said something wise for once.

"Thank you for that," said Dan as he calmed himself down and passed Arthur a piece of metal which was a block.

"What should I do with this?" Arthur asked which caused Dan to laugh.

"I thought you would bow down or at least lose your balance from the weight of the metal but it seems that you're stronger than I initially thought. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you atleast know how to create fire from magic so just do that and use the flames to change the shape of the metal into a blade. That'll be your first task," said Dan to which Arthur gave a confused look.

"Don't you think that's a bit too easy for me?" Arthur asked to which Dan shook his head before giving a gentle reply.

"No, not at all. It may look like an easy task but it's much harder than you could ever expect," said Dan as Arthur cast his spell and created fire around the piece of metal as he tried to use his flames along with his hands to reshape the metal so that it could take the desired shape. At first Arthur thought he was making progress as the metal pulled away and twisted further and further which made it resemble the shape of a blade however soon enough, Arthur would experience the real hard part of about being a blacksmith.

As Arthur pulled the metal further and further, it began to slouch and fall towards the ground as Arthur tried to keep it together however once it began to fail from all directions, Arthur gave up and in anger, he pulled the metal together before turning it into a ball and throwing it on the ground in pure anger.

"Now now, there's no reason for a reaction such as that. Just like you told me, just take a deep breath and reassess your situation. Find out what went wrong and how you can fix it. It's never a true failure until you give up," said Dan with a smile which made Arthur have a little more hope.

This time, Arthur didn't use his hands to mold the metal. Instead, he used his flames to cause the metal to float in the air as he controlled the heat in his fire to melt the metal to a specific degree so that it would be hot enough to mold into a blade but not hot enough to break apart.

Soon enough, Arthur was getting the hang of the activity and as such, Dan turned around to work on his own project. All while Dan was busy, Arthur placed all his focus on his blade as he sharpened it and made sure it was the most perfect blade that he had ever seen. He took inspiration from all the blades he had seen from the market on the day he was with Yosel and began to perfect his skill. However right as he was finishing, he heard someone fall on the ground with a gasp which threw off Arthur's concentration and caused him to turn around.

"What happened?" Arthur asked with a worried look as he turned towards Dan who was the one that fell on the ground.

"Did you do that?" Dan asked with a surprised look to which Arthur seemed rather annoyed.

"Yes, please don't tell me that you interrupted my concentration just to ask me that," said Arthur with a rather annoyed tone.

"My apologies. It's just this is the first time I've seen anyone learn to mold metal into a blade in just a single day. I mean seriously look at that. I mean it can use some work but this type of progress is unheard of. To be honest, at first glance, I believed that you took one of the blades I had made myself and started to toy around with it. What's even more impressive is that you're created a hilt out of the metal that I gave you instead of creating a small piece of metal to attach a pre made hilt on," said Dan which took away Arthur's annoying attitude as he appreciated the complements that he was getting from Dan.

"Hey Arthur, it's time to leave, get your stuff together, you're already late," said Egris as he interrupted Dan before the two left for the next class. Of course Arthur thanked Dan before the two left the class.
