Conqueror of Magic

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Read on mobile device for best experience. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having lost his parents at a young age and not having access to a home since it had burned to the ground after a sudden outburst of flames, Arthur was taken in by the council of sorcery. Not because they had felt sympathy for him but simply due to the fact that even though his parents had been burned to ashes, Arthur did not even have a single scratch on his body. Now intrigued by the boy, the council of sorcery sent their most obedient servant; the one they call “the inspector” to relocate Arthur into a prestigious school so that his strength could bloom so that they could have a powerful ally in the future. Even so, the council of sorcery commanded that the school treated him like trash. This was because Arthur’s parents were quite powerful in their prime and as such were sought after by the council of sorcery. Even though it was an amazing offer for Arthur’s parents, they refused which invoked the long lasting rage of the council of sorcery. In a world full of factions that try to sway the tides of power to their own side, Arthur must now learn how to grow strong so he could finally find the person who had killed his parents and get revenge for the years of torment that the council of sorcery had put him through. Although he just might get quite a bit more than he bargained for. —————————————————————————————————————————— Note: This story will be quite long since there are a lot of things that need to be covered in the story. Sadly though, I’m fueled by compliments so the more people that enjoy this novel, the more I can write. Schedule plan for this novel is 2 chapters a day, 1000+ words each or if does quite well, it will be moved up to 3 chapters a day (same number of words each). —————————————————————————————————————————— Hope you enjoy this novel though, happy reading.

"I see, I apologize then. I'll only use the bare minimum from this point forward," said Arthur which seemed to have slightly relieved Yosel of his worries.

"Still though, I want to know what the thing I used was. I still have no idea what it was or how I can use it again," said Arthur which Yosel was already exhausted and was still worried.

"If you finish the tournament without showing off with you strength, I'll tell you all you want about it and even teach you how to use it over and over until you drop from exhaustion," Yosel offered.

"You've got yourself a deal," said Arthur with a smile before shaking Yosel's hand.

"Since it's night, I guess it's time for us to sleep," said Yosel as he walked towards his home with Willam following him but Arthur stayed outside.

"What's wrong Arthur? Don't you want to sleep yet?" Willam asked to which Arthur just looked confused.

"I don't usually sleep in there," Arthur replied as if it was normal.

"Then where do you usually sleep?" Willam asked out of curiosity.

"Well, I usually sleep while training outside," Arthur replied casually to which Willam looked annoyed before grabbing Arthur by the collar of his shirt and dragging him inside the house and kicking Yosel out of it.

"HEY! What do you think you're doing?" Yosel yelled out to which Willam replied with an angry tone.

"See how it feels to sleep outside like a dog for once," Willam replied before turning his attention towards Arthur.

"Hey, you're going to sleep here from now on," said Willam as the two looked around the home to see that there were two beds there. One of them was on the first floor which was a king sized bed and then on the second floor was a small twin sized bed which was right beside the window. The way the home was arranged was that there was a sort of open stair case that led to the second floor which was really just a mounted bed and nothing else. The most accurate depiction would have been a single floor home with a mounted twin sized bed at the top right beside the window.

"Which one do you want?" Willam asked with a smile.

"I bet you want the lower one since it had so much more space. You can move around all you want," said Willam as he tried to make a joke.

"The top one will be fine, I'm used to sleeping on beds that size," said Arthur with a grin to which Willam got angry before leaping onto the bed at the top and began to sleep on it.

"Umm, perhaps you misheard need but I said I wanted to sleep on the top one," said Arthur which was completely ignored by Willam as he faked being asleep to which Arthur just gave up due to him being exhausted after he had used that dimensional warping spell which had taken a lot out of him. As such, he went to sleep instantly and woke up during the morning before Willam had awoke from his slumber and Arthur began to get ready to walk outside so that he could get some fresh air.

"Where do you think you're going?" Willam asked as he got up from his bed as well and began to follow Arthur.

"I just wanted to get some fresh air, I was looking to relax a bit since I've been so busy lately," said Arthur which surprised Willam.

"That's nice, mind if I join you?" Willam asked to which Arthur got a smile and nodded happily.

After the two opened the door, they were greeted by the last thing they could have expected. It was a zombie. A pale figure for some reason that was exactly the height of Yosel was standing in front of them.

"Run for your life Arthur! Save yourself! The zombie can only kill one of us at a time!" Willam yelled out to which the zombie let out a sneeze before getting angry.

"I'm not a zombie!" the zombie yelled out in anger.

"Oh it's just you Yosel. Don't scare us like that!" Willam yelled at Yosel.

"What do you mean?! You're the ones that left me here to die in the cold!" Yosel complained.

"Well, maybe you'll think about that next time you decide to force your student to stay outside every day for a couple-" Willam began to speak but stopped as he didn't know how long Arthur and Yosel had been teacher and student.

"How long have you been training him for?" Willam asked which made Yosel think before responding.

"I would say just a bit shorter than a year I believe," Yosel replied casually however the anger inside Willam was enough to melt all of the snow on the island.

"Are you telling me that you get to complain for spending a single night outside in the cold but you don't care here you have to make your student suffer for an entire year?!" Willam began to yelled before hitting Yosel on the head.

"Come on, it was to help him get stronger-" Yosel began to speak before Willam hit him on the head again.

"I don't care! I don't need to hear any excuses, just take better care of your students. Specially when they're as gifted as Arthur," said Willam before he snapped his fingers and teleported Arthur as well as himself to a far away place. A place where Yosel could not find them. It was already the evening in that area and the two of them walked into a quiet cafe.

Willam allowed Arthur to take a seat while he ordered for the two of them.

"Hey Willam, why are you being so nice to me?" Arthur asked to which Willam simply smiled.

"What do you mean? This is nothing special, don't think too much of it," said Willam with a smile as the two finished their session in the cafe and they explored different places in the world until Arthur had so much fun to the point he couldn't walk anymore to which Willam teleported the two of them back as the house and carried Arthur in the bed and tucked him in.

"So Willam, do you want to explain why you're treating him like that?" Yosel asked to which Willam's expression changed as if he was back to the version of himself that was so lost that the only place he could turn to was prison itself.

"Yosel, when you became the inspector, I lost everything. I had no where to go to and nothing to do. I lost myself because my identity was to be your friend and when you could no longer spend time with me due to your new job, I no longer had an identity. I simply felt like an empty shell, no matter how warm I dressed, my heart was always ice cold. I don't want that to happen to anyone else, specially not Arthur. There's no need to him to feel like he has no one. That would just be a plain out waste of so much potential. Look after him properly, he's not just a machine," Willam explained.
